Just tried this on a copy of Office Home and Student 2010 which has a license for up to 3 home pcs. When I enter the product key and get on the next screen, it gives me two choices. Office 365 Home Premium or Office Home and Student 2013. Under Office Home and Student 2013, it says it's only good for one PC not 3. If I upgrade, it looks like I loose the 3 PC license.

Anyone else have a similiar problem. I will call them in the morning and see what they say.

Same here, it said it wasn't purchased during the eligibility period. Unless you received your key through HUP during this period, I don't think it'll work. OP should update the post with this!

Whoa! This sounds awesome! So let me ask (orry if I'm repeating), if I buy HUP (it's Microsoft 2010) through my company right now I'd be able to upgrade for free?

I haven't downloaded the upgrade yet. I called a bunch of times to get an answer but everyone said something different. One person said it's only good for one pc and I asked what happens to the other two computer and they couldn't answer that. The last person I talked to thought I could do it on all three computers but would have to enter the product key each time and do three downloads.

I'm still confused. Going to call again and again until someone knows.

One other thing I forgot to mention is my 2010 Home and Student version says not for resale. It's not supposed to be valid for this upgrade but it works. I got it for free from Microsoft for installing that tracking software.

Didn't work for me since I bought in July 2012 through HUP program.

I just called and they said for the 2010 Home & Student 3user version I'd get 1 2013 install in addition to the 3 2010s (for 4 total). I asked specifically if I could install 1 2010 now, then do the upgrade promo to get my 2013 key and then use the 2010 key to do 2 more installs in the future and he said yes...he also gave me a reference # for when I called in, so at least I've got something to back up what he said. Hope this helps someone. # to call is 877–248–1220 by the way.
