Breville BJE200XL Compact Juicer - $70 + tax Casa.com

Great price on the most popular juicer on Amazon. Tax for me was $4.90 in NJ so the all in price was slightly under $75. Doesn't get much cheaper than that for a new unit.

I've been waiting for a deal for some time now, purchased! Thanks OP!

SlickDealJosh 01-30-2013 01:23 PM

I'll wait for Vitamix deal, but thats a great deal for a Juicer. Very good quality Juicer too!

Edit: This code can be used on anything. $30 off any Vitamix, but I have seen better deals elsewhere

laselvasurf 01-30-2013 01:37 PM

Great deal! Thanks OP!

Can anyone comment on this versus the more expensive JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus? http://www.amazon.com/Breville-JE...B003R28HWQ TIA!

kaimanson 01-30-2013 02:03 PM

Got one! thanks OP, i was just watching "hungry for change" with my wife and they were talking about juices and stuff..been waiting for this deal too. Saw the Breville RM-JE98XL yesterday for $99 but it's too big for my kitchen. This one is good enough =D for us, even better for $69.99 + Free 2 day shipping.

I don't know about the juicer that OP posted but i have the one you posted and it is awesome ... i am very happy with it and have owned it for 2 years now... Breville juicers come with a brush that is very helpful for cleaning the strainer/net (not sure what it is called) ...

Got it at BBB for 199 .. .and would definitely recommend it ...

It has 2 settings ..Low and high power ..i would say that the low power setting is not much useful and i pretty much make all juices at high setting ...

not sure how the OP's juicer is at 700 Watt's

FYI --- OP's code works for this juicer too, bringing it to 120 + tax ..

The JE98XL has a bin for the pulps, 2 speeds, and more power. that's it.+ It's kind of big,

Thanks! I'm completely new to juicing, and I wonder whether it is even feasible for me. I have a teeny tiny studio apartment kitchen and a small fridge (smaller than 20 cu ft.). From what I see on demonstration videos, you need a TON of fruits and vegetable to even make one glass of juice. Given the small capacity of my fridge, I'm wondering whether that would mean I'll have to go buy my greens like every other day....especially since I'll be juicing for two people. Anyone has experience to share? Thanks.

pjdavep 01-30-2013 02:35 PM

The JE98XL is pretty big. I got one for my wife for Christmas and when it's clean and sitting on the counter it takes up a decent amount of space. After juicing, when she cleans it, our entire dish rack is filled or overflowing.

And yes, if you have a small fridge and plan to juice a lot, you'll also be going to the store a lot. Things like carrots and celery store pretty compact and large bags of kale can squish down pretty good.

Later,
pjdavep

try youtube...there are a few people with great videos. Saw a few almost a month ago. Most of them use the BJE200XL.(cheaper and smaller) don't get me wrong, if I would have a bigger kitchen I'll be all over the JE98XL :lmao:

Thanks for everyone's comment. I pulled the trigger on the Compact Juice Fountain!

JuliePeanut 01-30-2013 03:06 PM

Thank you. My daughter just asked about a juicer an hour ago and mentioned this one. Can anyone tell me if it does ok with spinach? She said that is what she hears people complain about the most (in general with juicers, not this particular model).

nflor001 01-30-2013 03:13 PM

Does this juice wheatgrass?

Transmogrified 01-30-2013 03:16 PM

Thanks! Was able to get one! Perfect since I'm now training for my first half marathon!

Love10014 01-30-2013 03:18 PM

Can someone comment on the cleaning - reading a bunch of complaints about it, people even returning it because of the hassle. Could see how it would get annoying if you juice a few times a day.

3.5% cashback on bi-c-umbs when checking out through soap (ymmv due to code, but they are usually pretty lenient w/ them)

Also, everyone should watch Fat, Sick and nearly Dead - streams on netflix. Great!

I have the same issue I've been using this juicer for about 2 years and this is what I'd recommend:
Yes, It will need large amount of vegetables. I recommend "compact vegetables" like carrots, ginger, celery sticks, beets. Leafy vegetables take up space. I now juice once or twice a weekend due to limited space for vegetables, and due to the time it takes to clean up.
It takes about 20- 25 minutes for the whole process (cleaning, peeling fruit, trimming vegetables, juicing and cleanup).
I complement this on weekdays, with blending frozen fruits, with a handheld blender. It takes 5 minutes.
I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Proctor-Sil...00023XDJ0/
Frozen fruit bags are cheap at most groceries and Sam's and Costco.
For extra benefit, mix a spoon of yogurt and sprinkle some pre-ground flaxseed (about 10 bucks for a years supply). It's healthy and you won't be hungry for 5 hours.

plpalinkas 01-30-2013 03:59 PM

Great juicer. Just bought ours a few weeks ago from amazon at $99.99. Putting a price dispute through Discover to see if I can get the $30 difference refunded.

All the leafy stuff is hard to do with these style juicers. She needs a masticating juicer. ;)

I bought a juicer but don't seem to use it that often because my Blendtec juices just as good... and way easier to clean imo

No it doesn't.

soopafly 01-30-2013 04:46 PM

I have this juicer, and it's a good deal, but I'd rate this thing a 3 star. Two major complaints.

1) When juicing, pulp will fly out of the chute when you pull out the feeder to put more veggies/fruit in

2) Juice will continue to drip from the nozzle when you turn off the unit for a few minutes

BG101 01-30-2013 04:47 PM

people if you dont have a juicer get it now. good starting point. having a blender is not like having a juicer. just used my juicer (same like the one here) going strong for 1+ years, even bought refurb from amazon for similar price. I will never eat bag of carrots and celery, now I will drink them! The above cons are no issue for me. also cleaning is not an issue. less than a minute. there is a brush included.

jrk613 01-30-2013 04:52 PM

I've been waiting for this deal for awhile. Will come just in time to juice my free Papa John's pizza!

WeirdBeard 01-30-2013 05:53 PM

I bought this a couple months back from Amazon. I paid $100. This is a good deal. Great juicer!

WilliamG 01-30-2013 06:04 PM

This is a centrifugal juicer, not a masticating. You can read about the other differences, but it's worth bearing in mind that a masticating juicer is better (especially if you're doing a juice fast and want to store juices in your fridge for a few days).

Jerseyjo 01-30-2013 06:18 PM

I'm looking for a Breville toaster if anyone see's one for a good price

atari 01-30-2013 06:23 PM

Paid $100 for this on Amazon. I must say it works excellent. Best juicer I've owned.

Br0wNb0y 01-30-2013 06:24 PM

Thanks. In for 1.

jofernandez 01-30-2013 06:25 PM

I bought this same model back in early December when it was on sale for $75 bucks. I use it everyday and it works great. It's easy to clean but you do have to clean it after every use. So beware if you are not the clean type ;-) This model doesn't come with a basket attached to it where you can just put a bag in it and trash it after.

neilfarted 01-30-2013 06:41 PM

already dead :(

harle 01-30-2013 06:48 PM

Got this from Amazon about a month ago. I use it everyday before work and it takes about 20 minutes for the entire process (getting the veggies ready, juicing everything, and cleaning up). It does extremely well with most veggies i have tried. I would definitely recommend this for the price.

spurs 01-30-2013 07:04 PM

I am totally new to juicer, what is the difference between blender and juicer? I have a Breville blender at home, love it. Wife wants a juicer with the pulps in it, she does not like the juicer we saw on youtube that really separates extracts, later on people bake the fruit/vege extracts to a cake or threw them away.

If this model separates the extracts with the luquid, can anyone recommend one? Just cannot find one. THANKS

It can but not effectively

A masticating juicer works far better for wheat grass

This is a very good price for this type and model though

kgwy 01-30-2013 07:14 PM

IMAO, I had this juicer before but the major problem is tht cleaning up after can really become messy with too many parts that need to be cleaned.. Also, the left over is stuck up at ver hard to reach places.

scdealer 01-30-2013 07:15 PM

Beware Breville products/customer service. Switch went out on the below juicer after only a few uses. After looking into it, this was a known issue on the product. I wasn't the original purchaser and they could not have been less helpful. Did not stand behind their product. Failing that, I was willing to pay for a new switch and fix it myself. Of course they don't sell them. Wanted me to box it up and ship it (at my expense) to a third party service center in Florida w/no guarantee they could fix it nor any estimate of price.

I agree with this. I'd rather drink some pulp then spend time cleaning a juicer. That is JMO.

I have two juicers (one a Breville) and they just sit around here.

This is a good point, but buying a masticating juicer, given the price, is more of a significant commitment. This juicer at anything less than $100 is a great way to get started and see if juicing is for you. It is definitely too much work and too expensive for many and hard on the systems for others.

If it changes your life, you can sell it for $50 and shell out the $400.

I guess I dont, and neither does my stomach...my blendtec liquifies almost anything. I add water, press "whole juice" and I'm set.

Amazing juicer

qqqxz 01-31-2013 05:52 AM

I always wondered. I blend my fruits and veges into a smoothie of sorts. I always assumed it was healthier because of all the added fiber. Am I wrong in assuming this?

proppat 01-31-2013 06:16 AM

For the record (these are generalizations and don't always hold true):

If you want to juice vegitables and leafy greens, you want a masticating juicer.

If you want to juice fruits, you want a centrifugal juicer.

If you want to be able to drink liquid veggies and fruits and want all the fiber, get a Blendtec/Vitamix.

If you just want to do wheatgrass/leafy greens, get a hand crank masticating juicer and save money.

Masticating juicers don't do mushy things well. Centrifugal juicers can't do greens (they can to a limited degree, but you're throwing your money away). Blendtec/Vitamixes don't juice, they blend...so if you're just looking to get maximum nutrients without getting full on plant fiber, this is not the way to go. Masticating juicers have the advantage of being able to make nut butters, process doughs, extrude pasta, etc. Blendtec/Vitamixes have the advantage of being able to decimate anything, crush ice (and make snow), and do smoothies. Centrifugal juicers are one trick ponies.

Depends, do you want to drink your meal and get full off a glass of juice or do you want to drink less with the same amount of nutrients to supplement your meal? Blending basically gives you something that's a meal replacement. Juicing is a great way to get extra nutrients into your existing diet. You need fiber in your diet, but in one glass of juicer juice you get much more nutrient than you do in a glass of blended whole juice. Your body also processes it easier. On the other hand, if you're juicing high sugar fruits, you're going to carb crash your body. I prefer to juice greens/veggies and blend fruits. But that's me.

It's not that one way is better than the other, it just depends on what you're going for.

BG101 01-31-2013 06:25 AM

some product video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrsAyga_K_g

jliven23 01-31-2013 08:10 AM

This juicer is the bomb. It paid for itself in our house because we haven't wasted a fruit or veggie since purchase. We went from no juicing to five days a week for over two years now....and this is the exact one I have and it works as good as it did on day one.

Cleaning is a breeze...my only recommendation there is to clean immediately after use. We then just set everything on a towel to dry since it will be used again the following morning.

Hildebrandon 01-31-2013 12:20 PM

Nota bene for all those who have purchased the juicer: If you receive an email informing you that your shipment will be delayed (mine was delayed a day from the promised 2-day delivery), call Casa (855-687-2272) and talk to a customer representative. After they confirm the delay, express your disappointment and ask if they can do anything to make up for the problem. I did this and they credited $15 back to my card!

ambabya 01-31-2013 12:39 PM

kelly943 02-02-2013 07:59 PM

I just received this yesterday... it was pretty fun juicing everything in sight. The only part that was hard to clean was the mesh basket.

I just used a strong spray from the garden hose and blasted all of the remaining fibers from the basket.

PRoduct was bigger than I thought. Definitely takes about 20-30 mins to prep veggies and to clean.

HTH

Igorkocev 02-04-2013 02:23 PM

This is stil LIVE.. I just purchased one for 69.99. Huraaa :)

usefulidiot127 02-05-2013 07:43 AM

I would like to advise everyone to open their juicer first and inspect it before running out and buying bulk fruit like I did. My unit came and it had clearly been used and parts of it were missing or cracked. The customer service responded perfectly to the situation - so I can confirm that this is a great company to deal with.

Love10014 02-06-2013 02:22 PM

Love ours! Learning to go slowly, keep a garbage bowl nearby to avoid a huge mess, and make smaller batches and taste first ;) Love strange things like fennel but didn't love red peppers which I really like eating whole. Sometimes the flavors don't ransfer so well.

Ginger is a must, as is mint and parsley. Apples, carrots, cucumbers, sweetpotato - all get the most juice imo. The beets give a great color but stain everything :)

I looked over all the higher end models, and unless you are a hardcore juicer or have a large family/very limited time, don't see a huge benefit vs the extra $$$. I could see where the bag of pulp vs non is helpful but not such a huge deal imo.
