Sure they will turn off auto renew, sure. :) :) :)

When choosing to make subscription payments for licenses, you will be informed at the end of the subscription about the amount that will be subtracted from your account. You can stop the payments simply by logging in to Avangate myAccount, going to "My Products" area and by clicking "Stop automatic license renewal" beneath each product that has this option enabled.

why isnt this FP? too fishy?
|
How does this compare with AVG antivirus free?

This is MUCH better. BitDefender is on a whole different level than Avast, Avira and AVG. BitDefender is like Kaspersky (actually better in detection, according to most tests).. but it's lighter than Kaspersky. |

- Don't know why cats would buy 10 codes. You'd think that the codes would be attached to the 2013 product and upgrades wouldn't be valid without a purchase of something newer. I mean I tried installing an older Norton and it basically gave me the finger when I wanted to upgrade to whatever version they had for the year we were in. But I guess spending $1.30 to roll the dice isn't bad.
All I know is I'm going to hand these out as gifts. People will think I spent $50 bones. Waaaahhhh! |
How is this not front page??!?!?!

If you click the link for more information regarding the auto renew at the bottom of the order page, you can uncheck auto renew and still only pay 13 cents per year.
If you check PayPal after doing an order this way, Avangate BV won't be listed at all under the auto pay/subscription section. |
Sweet! all set and worry free!

Got 10 codes and already used 3. Maybe I should buy 90 more codes.

I got 2 keys, which I may just spread out over the next two years, or use on an extra computer or two in the household. I am undecided if I want to use it instead of Avira on my desktop here, as sometimes it's a pain when switching antivirus programs ... it's like they leech into the computer's deep innards and it involves some intensive operation to get them fully un-installed sometimes. |

Doing some searches and thought this was interesting...
"DO NOT BITE! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK INFO! BitDefender automatically sets customers on Auto-Pay. When you decide to drop them, you will have to contact multiple outsourced/overseas phone numbers and spend hours on the phone trying to get them to take you off of autopay and refund the overcharges. They will also entice you to accept special offers to renew. When you do, you will be double-charged - because you were already on auto-pay (by default). They will not reply to your online requests either. By Jackberts on 22 Jan 2013" |

Looks like this price can be different basing on the State you pick up during address input. For MN this price shoots up from $0.13 to $49.95.
Tried clearing cookies, temp internet files, using different browsers like Firefox, Chrome - no luck. If I change to CA I can see it $0.13 though. |

This is a waste of money if you have Windows 8 since it comes with Windows Defender, which is the same thing as Microsoft Security Essentials for Win 7...

For those selling this on ebay. If the buyers choose to auto renew, you will eat the bill lol. Unless you use a prepaid card, that won't be a problem. Prices are going down fast though so its probably not worth it. $3.50 atm

Thanks OP. Picked up 3 keys for home PCs for 0.39. Glad all the keys haven't been soaked up by predatory ebayers.

To avoid the subscription when you are on the Billing & Payment page at the bottom there will be some text that says:
To disable Continuous Protection renewal at any time, you can contact our Customer Care, or get more information click here. Click on "click here" and it will show a check box that says: Store my billing information and automatically renew my subscription Uncheck the check box and no subscription. |
Personally I've grown tired of dealing w/ this changing/updating of anti-malware every year. I decided to purchase Malwarebytes lifetime license and be done w/ it.
|
where is the option to pay in CAN dollars?

I got ripped off. They charged me 15 cents.:) How can this many SDers (on a software thread,no less) not have prepaid cards laying around? Thanks OP, TU & repped.

Should I use this with Malwarebytes? or should I use one over the other? I got 8 licenses on one of my rebate cards. Awesome, haha.

Thanks OP! Got 20 licenses for $2.60. In the past, I bought the 3 AV version (more lightweight) licenses and they don't expired; each year I just update the key and it works again. I prefer ESET because it's not a resource hog but for this price, I'll just give them away to family and friends.
Thanks for the PayPal tip of disabling preapproved payment; I saw a bunch of authorizations from past purchases that were still active so I disabled them :) EDIT: By the way, I'm not sure how other PayPalers are getting to the area where they disable the preapproved payment but here how I navigate to it: 1) Log into PayPal 2) Click Settings tab 3) Click Payment Preferences on left 4) Click update on My preapproved payments on right 5) Click on indivdual merchant to cancel the Active preapproved payment for that merchant |

Placed the order an hour ago and got the Confirmation Page. Still no email. Anyone else having this problem?

Ok to disable auto renewal go to the email they sent you. In the email, there should be a link to a company called "Advantage". They manage the subscriptions for Bitdefender. Make an account with them and enter in your info. Then disable auto renewal.
|
Quote:
It lists the expiration as 1 year from now. Not sure you'll be able to use them later on, might just be an automatic thing assuming you have already activated the codes, but they do list them all there. |
I already disabled preapproved payment for future renewal at PayPal.
For those who didn't uncheck auto license renewal during payment checkout, I finally figured out to disable auto license renewal: 1) When you order, you should have received the license keys in the email; look at the bottom of that email and there's a link that says Quote:
2) After you create the account and log in, you will see your order. Click on My Products tab 3) In the middle of that page, you will see your Subscription status, just click on Stop automatic license renewal. That's it! |
Quote:
|
Is this resellable?
|
I was about to post the link to Avangate, but see others have just done so.
Look under exp. dates... it does list the product expiring in one year, and I haven't activated my code yet. Hmm... maybe not so good for those with several codes. |
