OP's instructions for canceling auto-renew are for PayPal's auto-bill feature. If you paid with PayPal that is how you would disable it. However if you paid with a credit card you have to cancel through avangate. From their FAQ:

When choosing to make subscription payments for licenses, you will be informed at the end of the subscription about the amount that will be subtracted from your account. You can stop the payments simply by logging in to Avangate myAccount, going to "My Products" area and by clicking "Stop automatic license renewal" beneath each product that has this option enabled.

Also even if the keys only work with the 2013 version, you can reinstall that version and update the registry. Maybe will last for a few years but its not like it will stop working.

This is MUCH better. BitDefender is on a whole different level than Avast, Avira and AVG.

BitDefender is like Kaspersky (actually better in detection, according to most tests).. but it's lighter than Kaspersky.

- Don't know why cats would buy 10 codes. You'd think that the codes would be attached to the 2013 product and upgrades wouldn't be valid without a purchase of something newer. If you click the link for more information regarding the auto renew at the bottom of the order page, you can uncheck auto renew and still only pay 13 cents per year.

If you check PayPal after doing an order this way, Avangate BV won't be listed at all under the auto pay/subscription section.

Can't you just click there, and uncheck the auto renewal?

They will last forever as long as they are unactivated but you can only use these keys on the 2013 version. So if you plan on using these keys for 10 years, you will be using an outdated version. I guess using a 2013 version program in 2014 is okay. However, using a 2013 version in 2023 would be a bad idea. Also you should keep the install file on your comp because they will remove the download link next year.

Go to your profile and select My Money. Then go to pre-approved payments and cancel Avangate BV. This will prevent them from charging you again.

Windows Defender/MSE is absolutely terrible. Check AV Test or AV Comparatives if you'd like.

Seems like they don't verify your address, so I suggest using a pre-paid or gift card and give them a bogus address to where they don't charge tax.

Cancel any billing agreements the transaction may have created. That's how they can come back later and charge you again.

Huh? You said you paid via Paypal. As part of the transaction, many retailers create a billing agreement between you and them on your Paypal account. This is essentially a preauthorization to charge your Paypal account when and if they deem necessary (i.e., their discretion). You're agreeing to it implicitly when you complete the transaction, but most ppl don't realize it. But an unscrupulous company good use that billing agreement to charge your account w/o notice. That's why I always go over to my Paypal account after using it to make sure there was no billing agreement created, and if there is one, cancel it.

This small installer requires you to download the program from their server. So if they remove the download, it might not work anymore. I cant seem to find a full installer anywhere.

I was wondering about that too, for those with multiple keys.

In 2014+ it may be impossible to use the extra keys, if it requires a re-install of the program, even if you downloaded their little installer now for safekeeping.

Maybe it showed up for me as I have a canadian IP, but try to open the OP's link in a new Chrome window using Incognito, and before you do anything, see if there's the option on the right upper corner to change the currency.

I'm pretty sure you can download their Trial version and use your code in to activate it into a full version. Unless they screw with us and make these code invalid, they should work from 2014+ .

Thanks OP! Got 20 licenses for $2.60. In the past, I bought the 3 AV version (more lightweight) licenses and they don't expired; each year I just update the key and it works again. I prefer ESET because it's not a resource hog but for this price, I'll just give them away to family and friends.

Thanks for the PayPal tip of disabling preapproved payment; I saw a bunch of authorizations from past purchases that were still active so I disabled them :)

EDIT: By the way, I'm not sure how other PayPalers are getting to the area where they disable the preapproved payment but here how I navigate to it:

1) Log into PayPal
2) Click Settings tab
3) Click Payment Preferences on left
4) Click update on My preapproved payments on right
5) Click on indivdual merchant to cancel the Active preapproved payment for that merchant

Need to uncheck it in your account at bitdefender probably too.

Ok to disable auto renewal go to the email they sent you. In the email, there should be a link to a company called "Advantage". They manage the subscriptions for Bitdefender. Make an account with them and enter in your info. Then disable auto renewal.

In the Avangate store (bottom link of your receipt info https://store.bitdefender.com/mya...l)/(unique link)) You can also disable autorenew from this link.

It lists the expiration as 1 year from now. Not sure you'll be able to use them later on, might just be an automatic thing assuming you have already activated the codes, but they do list them all there.

I already disabled preapproved payment for future renewal at PayPal.

For those who didn't uncheck auto license renewal during payment checkout,
I finally figured out to disable auto license renewal:

1) When you order, you should have received the license keys in the email; look at the bottom of that email and there's a link that says

Click on that link to create an account at their site so you can look up your order.
2) After you create the account and log in, you will see your order. Click on My Products tab
3) In the middle of that page, you will see your Subscription status, just click on Stop automatic license renewal. That's it!

Looks like the key only works on 2013 version. No point buying 10+ key.

Never use a debit card online! Debit cards go directly against your checking account and leave you more vulnerable to fraud. Use either Paypal, prepaid visa, or visa w/ virtual credit card numbers instead.

I will do a test to see how this goes. The one I installed today shows 365 days left, I will wait a few days and install a new key on another computer, and see if it shows 365, or the same amount as the computer that was installed today. Then we will know for sure :)

The license bought here only work for PC doesn't not work for Android or iOS apps. Wish I learned that before buying so many keys for all my phones and tablets.

Yeah I don't think I'd go to the trouble of getting a warning on my eBay account or banned just for $14.40 profit. Digital delivery of goods isn't allowed on eBay and if someone reports the listing you will get flagged.
