Got the jambox last time from this company. Generally happy with it. Only issue was that when the refurb was done the rubber parts that cover the top and bottom were reversed. Took about 5 seconds to switch and all was good.

youisjr 02-04-2013 06:22 PM

I bought the big jambox from the last deal. It was brand new, and it's an awesome little toy. It sucks with the standard iphone music app. I highly recommend the Denon app... Then the big jambox blows Bose out of the water.

So I am assuming the Denon app is compatible with the Big Jambox?

Which Denon app?

Descentxxx 02-04-2013 09:36 PM

Should be the denon app w/the headphones icon.

Anyone know if the seller is a authorized seller for Jawbone? If not you get no warranty/support from Jawbone if you have issues, good price if so for the big jambox.

Kammander 02-04-2013 10:18 PM

Pick up 1 Big Jam Box 2 weeks ago from this company. I love it! I take it everywhere I go now.

tonatiuh 02-04-2013 10:25 PM

I bought the regular Jambox on the last deal---looks/works like new and am especially enjoying it as a speakerphone. Good purchase.

tbshay 02-05-2013 05:37 AM

In for one thanks OP!

AxlxA 02-05-2013 11:11 AM

The three reviews on that site makes it look like they got some damaged products.

superduperasian 02-05-2013 09:46 PM

I am so tempted to buy the big Jambox... damn it!

Lazbum 02-06-2013 12:18 AM

I bought the big Jambox because I got employee pricing where I work. One of the best purchases I have ever made. I kid you not when I say that I use it every single day.

justainchoe 02-06-2013 12:29 AM

Jambox's are so 2012...

Really though, they are.. And bluetooth speakers are NEVER worth this much..

Jambox does pack a lot of quality into their speakers, but China got into the market and there's no reason to pay so much for good compact bluetooth speakers..

Jambox is the new Blackberry, except that Jambox doesn't have as much cash to sit on as BB does.. Jambox's should either slash price to half or go out of business..

The AT&T store that were the primary pushers of the jambox are no longer going to carry this business through..

atari 02-06-2013 12:32 AM

what ugly ass speakers!

EmilioG87 02-06-2013 01:06 AM

I am torn between the Jambox and the Harman Kardon speakers.

halloweenprince 02-06-2013 01:32 AM

What is so good about them? Are they just regular bluetooth speakers with long-lasting built-in battery?

Sent from Slickdeals App for iPhone & iPod Touch.

Isn't anyone worried there will be physical damage to the speaker? 2 of the 3 product reviews on their website describe substantial physical damage.

Stach 02-06-2013 04:07 AM

Big Dent in mine

I bought a Big Jambox during the last Slickdeal and while I love the battery life and sound quality (for its size), I received one with a large dent in a front corner. While it sounded and worked perfectly, I called All4Cellular and said that a large dent is worse than their stated minor scratching description of refurbished. They were happy to pay for return shipping and send out another Big Jambox, however I received another flawed unit with another (not quite as large) dent in another front corner. Overall I'm happy with the savings, but disappointed that it has a sizeable dent in the front. To be fair, the Big Jambox is prone to dents as it has sharp pointed corners that dent easily, with no protective case included (costs an extra $50).

YMMV,
Stach

xwskx 02-06-2013 04:53 AM

I bought the Big Jambox the last time this discount was offered. I received the item under packaged and the grills on the speaker was dented up. Well the good news is, I contacted them and they issued an RMA immediately and got a refund.

xshydro 02-06-2013 05:13 AM

I got one of these for Christmas, it had a defect that when nothing was plugged into it, it still sensed the 1/8" input jack. Works great if you don't want to use the bluetooth feature, and only plug it in.

All4Cellular was very difficult to get in touch with. Jawbone will not warranty these units at all, because they are not an authorized Jawbone reseller My return took a long time, they wouldn't send another unit, didn't refund shipping and there was a $10 restock. A big PIA - I'd pay extra for one that has a warranty.

Likely, one of you will get the unit sent back...

nikos12345 02-06-2013 05:23 AM

So what's a good alternative to this one? We have a 100-attendee lunch reception with a little dance floor and was looking to see whether the big jambox would have a enough juice to play music to fill the room....

Or would you all say the big jambox would cut it?

Thanks for the feedback. It's stupid, I know, but I couldn't live with a dent. That would really bother me.

AxlxA 02-06-2013 05:58 AM

definitely not jumping on this after hearing about the dents and several RMA's

I bought a Big Jambox that last time it was here on slickdeals, already own the smaller Jambox which I love but doesn't have the power I wanted. Everything seemed great at first couldn't really see any physical damage on the unit at all and the thing sounds fantastic. A little low on the Bass side but just adjusted the EQ settings for my phone and it was sounded amazing. Couple weeks in the speaker blew highs were still good but any bass would give off a rattling sound, thank god I was still within the 1 month warranty period. No issues at all with All4Cellular they offered to replace it but with only a 1 month return policy didn't think it was worth the risk of losing $180. If I could find a new one for about $225 I would definitely buy another one. Just think I had bad luck.

I think you would have a better chance to fill a 100 person room with simple powered speakers that you can plug into a phone or mp3 player, such as AudioEngines:

I got a white Big Jambox for Christmas and need to get rid of the dang thing. Didn't even open it.

The sound quality for these are amazing for such a small speaker. These things get loud and fairly bassy for something so small.

I might jump on this.

slowpokeG 02-06-2013 06:47 AM

I wouldn't recommend getting this from All4Cellular. It's a lottery.

I ordered the last time they had this and they didn't send a refurb...they sent a used unit with about 10 dents, a broken pairing button, and speakers that had been blown out from being abused. The unit had the max amount of bluetooth devices previously paired to it (8) so it was probably a display unit, hence the blown speakers.

The pairing button had been abused to try and get it to work. I opened the unit and was able to get the button to work by pressing it directly, so it is just the plastic piece that presses it that has broken. This tells me however, that this unit was never refurbished. They simply turn them on and off and if that works they say its good as new...

Thanks for the denon recommendation. Nice to see the equalizers make a nice difference. Almost kinda mad the default app doesn't sound this good lol.
Only downside is that it doesn't support stream from iCloud/iTunes Match, only local. Small complaint, maybe it will be able to in a future update.

I would recommend the Block Rocker - Bluetooth by Ion audio. I have one and it is amazing. We used it for all kind of parties, tailgaiting, events, etc. The best part is that it has a built-in battery, which lasts about 12 hours. You can get a cheap speaker stand/Tripod for less than $20.

mymidgetfriend 02-06-2013 08:16 AM

Just want to chime in and say that I love my Big Jambox. The thing is super portable and can produce some great sound that will last for hours and hours. I bought it in December for $250 and then took advantage of the price change which brought it back down to $200 total which I thought was a much more reasonable price. I'm really excited for the summer when I can take it to the beach.

Some Questions

I plan on using this for three things:
Sitting by the pool : Regular should be good enough

Tailgating in a crowded parking lot

Occasionally bringing it to a friends place.

I have a full blow system at my house so I don't need it for there.

Should I go big or little? How much is the difference in sound?

Also I can get this new on Amazon for 130 and be guaranteed good battery life (which obviously drops with age ) and a new product. What kind of warranty comes with the refurb and what are peoples thoughts on the quality of this company?

Big for sure. I went Big, then got a cheap squaretrade warranty since its refurbed.

PhilipJ 02-06-2013 09:01 AM

I have both a big and a small Jambox. The small one is good for a single relatively quiet room. The big one will go just about as loud as you would ever want it to.

If you want to check them, Target should have them both set up for demoing. When I tried them in Target, the small one had to be turned up all the way to hear it which made it sound pretty bad, and the big one still had plenty of room to go.

I got lucky in my purchase from All4Cellular. My big Jambox came bulk packaged, with the speaker in a thick plastic wrap, and the power adapter and cables just sitting loose in the cardboard box with the speaker. Luckily, no dents on mine.

When I bought mine, the All4Cellular website stated that refurb Jamboxes only carry a 90 day warranty by All4Cellular and no warranty by Jambox.

Hope this info helps someone.

CuseHoo 02-06-2013 09:02 AM

How big is the sound out of the basic one?

slickdealer2099 02-06-2013 09:03 AM

Amazon reviews for the Supertooth Disco BT speaker is much better than his.

ant1pathy 02-06-2013 11:01 AM

I have both. The little one is far more portable, and good for a smaller room or if you're just listening to music in silence. The big one THUMPS. You can't talk over it if it's up all the way. Battery life is great. I didn't pay for mine (free from work), but I certainly get my use out of them.

Just fine for indoors and small groups. You'll want the BIG Jambox if you want it for a tailgate party or big groups (15-20+) of people.

neekbailey 02-06-2013 08:13 PM

I bought one on the last deal. Its corner was smashed in and I had to return it. I haven't gotten the replacement yet, hopefully it will be in better condition. The 'condition' tab on their page says units may be 'scratch and dent'... Not sure how that qualifies as 'refurbished'.

christoman 02-09-2013 03:38 AM

Got my white regular Jambox in the mail yesterday. Packaging wasn't great, but the unit looks and works perfect. No scratches or marks - looks like new.

lotusmin 02-09-2013 11:52 AM

Got mine today it is going back if they cant send me a non dented one i dont want it and would rather pay full price.

FishyChips 02-09-2013 01:37 PM

Got mine today. Looks and acts brand new. Only thing I noticed there's like a slight orange smudge on one of the buttons. Other than that looks great!

cccccory13 02-09-2013 10:05 PM

Had one and returned it. JBL flip is 10X the speaker.

dj-3lusion 02-09-2013 10:18 PM

heads up this merchant is bad bad bad!!!. sent me 3 dud jawbone bluetooth headsets. noise assassin never worked, found out the hard way jawbone doesn't even warrant anything refurb, which means you have to deal with all4cellular for the warranty, not jawbone!! so chances are these thing have sucky battery life or are scratched or dented or sound like crap. I would never buy anything again from these guys ever even if its free or 0.01. you are taking a gamble with these boneheads..
