https://play.google.com/store/dev...us_10_16g I was excited to see it in stock and finally order one, so I figured I would post it for others.. let's hope they have a decent stock of the N10. Says 1-2 weeks for shipping. |

|
As everyone, I don't mind paying the 399$ but I'm looking for free shipping and tax free
|
Anybody know if the google play gift cards available in B&M stores can be used toward the purchase of devices, or is it limited to apps?
|
I bought one around New Years, and the tablet is really nice -- I especially liked the screen resolution. It is my first tablet and I like using browsers and the reading applications. I also like the GPS a lot.
I figured it's not really all that expensive because: 1. My existing GPS unit Garmin Streetpilot 2610 is about 12yrs old (still works), A replacement will easily cost say $80. As long as I plan the trip and download offline map, can easily use Nexus 10 as "new" GPS (and stop at McD or free WiFi for offline map updates) 2. I have a Sandisk Clip (mp3 player) probably 4-5 yrs old. cost about $30. This thing holds all my MP3 or play my offline radio podcasts 3. Portable reader (can't get anything decent for under $150 new) 4. A ultra-portable laptop of any decent spec will cost $200 easily, and it's not as portable as Nexus10. (screen resolution / portability / ease of content consumption) Given the freedom to "detach" from a desktop or a dedicated laptop, like taking a recipe to the kitchen, while listening to internet radio or scanner radio applications, able to check stocks all throughout the day, it has become basically a portable "Smart Newspaper". I now also have a decent device to read the over 5000 free Amazon books I accumulated last year :) or read financial filings (10-K, 10-Q's) I don't think anyone will be getting out of paying tax or shipping for a while, so it's one question of how long do you want to wait before you get a decent device you'll be happy with (paying a reasonable price). This was enough for me to jump and get one. |

This is a great device. Better PPI than the Ipad 3 and 4. For those who say the Nexus 10 v. 2 will come out soon....I highly doubt it. I'd rather have this over an Ipad 4 and day, even if the Nexus 10 was more expensive. |
Sweet tablet but not a slick deal here. I got mine from Staples a while back cheaper OTD and used a coupon.
|
For Nexus range, availability itself counts as a deal !!
I wonder if people will start lining up outside stores like iPhones/iPads for the next Nexus devices. I am waiting for a N7 deal (hopefully 199 for 32 gig) to get on the bandwagon too. |
It's been in stock for weeks...

are there any books that are worth reading at all? I got a few free books as well but they're all complete crap so far, so i just stopped trying. |
I browsed through the Free Kindle top 100, then I go back to the Kindle Books navigation category, into subjects, (Sci-Fi, Cooking, Gardening, Fiction, etc) Each of those has its own Top-100 category.
I end up grabbing about 5-10 books a day just browsing. and you can also add the Top 100 into your RSS reader, so you end up getting at least 2-3 free books (just from browsing the Top 100 each day in each category), so over the course of a year, you'll easily get a few thousand free books. http://www.amazon.com/Best-Seller.../157028011 This link above take you to "Fiction (top 100), now look to the left on the "Kindle eBooks", and it'll take you to all the different categories, and you can start your collection too. |
Why double price difference on 7 inch and 10. inch tablets? Excepts for screen, everything inside should be same.
|
Best tablet hands down...period. And I have had almost all of them.
|
:look: Where is the "deal" portion of this? Or the "Hot" portion of this? Unsure.
|
tax is .99 cent in mississippi. haha

Nexus 10 also has double the RAM and a generation-newer processor (A15 rather than the Nexus 7's Tegra 3). Also keep in mind that the larger screen has 4x the pixels (2560*1600, instead of 1280*800) and larger battery to match. |

I have Note 2 right now and my wife is Nexus 4, so I am pretty familiar with the cellphone version of the NEXUS and GALAXY series. |

I got my wife this tablet a month ago. I am not too impressed. It hangs occasionally(once every few days). I thought the hang's were due to apps, but it still does it when using native apps, like gmail, browser, gallery etc. I would still recommend it. Best features for me are the screen resolution, snappy-ness, and multiple user setup.
Anyone has recommendations on a nice cover/stand for this tablet? |

Sorry, not ready to spend $400 on a toy....oops I mean tablet right now. :D
Call me when its $200 and has SD card.... |
now that the ipad is jailbreakable, methinks this is a lesser option. may pick one up when it is 399 + free shipping + no tax through a third party vendor. may also be worth it to wait for the supposed quad core upgrade that is coming in the next 2-3 months. at 430 after shipping, you're better off with an refurb 3rd gen ipad.

My only contemplation is that I want something more middle ground like 8-9in. The nexus 7 is slightly smaller than i would like and requires too much scrolling for reading (I read a great number of journal articles), whereas the nexus 10 is slightly too large that I am afraid I might be clumsy and drop it on the bus. With that in mind, I might wait around to see what the note 8 has to offer...and to see if it will be in a good price range lol. |

So yeah go with the Nexus unless you care about those small things... |

The reason the Nexus 10 hangs is because of the super high resolution screen. You have to marry the screen resolution with a proper GPU.
This reviewer below says Temple Run runs the best on an iPad mini, compared to the Nexus 10, iPad 3 and iPad 4. Even through the CPU and GPU lag behind, it's more fluid due to the lower resolution. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXOqZAE I was planning on buying the Nexus 10, but after seeing how few apps are optimized for the large screen, went with the Nexus 7. I also picked up an iPad 3 for the family (Meijer deal at $330 - still too much IMO, but the family is addicted to iOS). Apps look great on the iPad 3, and run well. I prefer the size and ergonomics of the Nexus 7 myself. iPad is just too big for surfing or playing apps if you are holding it. It's better on a table or on the floor. Tablets IMO are meant to be held. YMMV. My biggest gripe with the Nexus 7 is the limited number of Tegra Zone games which are optimized for the GPU. The problem with this tablet is that most apps are designed to run off slower tablets and phones. It's just too advanced for what's out there right now. The iPad 3/4 doesn't have that issue, as many of their apps are optimized for both their tablet and phone/touch. In any event, I pick up the Nexus 7 more than the iPad. Size does matter. |

I'm thinking by the time I'm back in the market, this Note will be just what I'm looking for in that price range. I have a handful of tablets in the 7, 9.7 and 10.1 sizes. I find the 10.1 just a bit too big and prefer the 9.7 for 90% of the time. I keep the 7" in my vehicle for portability, and it makes a decent ereader when my Nook ST isn't available. But seriously interested in the upcoming 8" tablets. that 8-9" might just be the sweet spot for me. |

BB Playbook is unacceptable because...well its BB. Im looking closer to one of the Asus Transformers or Toshiba Excite/Drive tablets. And it's not trolling, it's market analysis. :D |

That's wishful thinking (including myself lol) but realistically it'll prob be around $350-400 |
Placed an order last night.
I just got a Nexus 7, it has 5 stuck pixels, so I am RMA'ing...decided to replace with the N10 because there wasn't enough difference to use the N7 when I have a GS3 with a screen only slightly over 2" smaller... |

I know this thread has been dead for awhile but I want to revive it with the simple question, will the N10 ever be cheaper? I really want to pick one up and am planning on it, I even have cases here waiting for it! - But I hate to pay full price with tax and shipping. We have seen so many deals on the N7, why not a single one on this?
|
Im on the fence too, but then I heard there's a 2nd gen nexus coming out..so that'll make the price drop for this one, eh?
