This is one sexy deal
|
this is bull, I bought the base game for 10 from GMG a few weeks back, now how about premium service for $20?

Great deal
|
So does this give you a CD-KEY for base game and premium? I already own base-game (and b2k) so I was wondering if I could buy this and sell the base game for $10 or $15?

VERY SLICK! This game is awesome and Premium adds a TON of content. Not to mention it is FAR superior to any CoD game.

Yea you get two keys one for the base game with b2k and another key for the prem. Im in the same boat tho only need the prem

So is this a good price? Playable on a Core 2 Quad?
|
TY OP! Looks like a good deal.
So if I buy this, I could potentially give the base game away to someone, and then apply the premium code to my Origin account and get all the expansions? |

But yea like the guy above me asked, what GPU do u have? |
hey guys, this a much slicker deal than the title states, this is not just for the premium service, this is for the base game, premium service and the $15 headstart kit, all included for $30.........lowest price i have ever seen for all of these, you will get 2 origin codes, one for BF3 LE and one for the premium content........you can sell the BF3 LE code on ebay for about $20 if you already own the base then all the DLC only cost you $10!
Battlefield 3 Premium Edition = Battlefield 3 Base Game + Battlefield Premium Service + Multiplayer Head Start Kit |
I will be buying this when I get home in about an hour and will let you know if its 2 keys or not if no one does by then.
|
I'm interested in this game, can someone please answer a couple quick questions for me?
Is this premium service a one time thing? Kinda like a DLC? Or is it a monthly premium service, say like xbox live? Does this contain everything? Or are there more add-ons/dlcs? Lastly, do people mainly play this for the campaign or the multiplayer? Is the multiplayer still going strong? Thank you!! |
I am waiting for the same price for XBOX. Those never seem to go lower than $40.
|
Quote:
one time payment. the premium packages is like a season pass, you are buying all the DLC plus the future DLC pack when you purchase the premium service, that all it is. The headstart is just a unlock short cut, your basically unlocking everything without having to put any time into doing it, you'll be a private with every unlock. So basically your set, you will have all DLC plus all future DLC paid for, nothing more to ever purchase. Yes the multi player is community is massive, you will never have issues with finding a game to your liking. |
I've got a Core 2 Quad q6700 at 2.66ghz and a Radeon HD 7770. I play at 1280x1024. Would this be playable?
|
When does this end? Any coupons?
Thanks |

Awesome I was thinking about buying this last night but I knew I should hold off until a deal came up. I am a happy camper.
Actually I don't think the upgrade kit is the same thing as the shortcut kit that is generally offered separately. Either way a very good deal! |
in 4 one. been waiting on this to drop in price. almost paid full price earlier today.

I bought this package around BF and from the BB deal. You'll get 2 keys, one for vanilla and one for premium. The keys are not tied to each other so you can get rid of the vanilla if you want.
Awesome game and plenty of servers to play from. |
Excellent deal for an excellent game. I paid $80 separately but i spent over 200+ hours on this game.

by maps/modes, i mean conquest? rush? SDM? Karkand? Metro? Bazaar? |
Bought this for Premium, but which one is the Premium key?
Thanks! |
Great deal. I bought one. I got it at release for XBOX but friends quit playing and I have a great PC, so, here's to more (and better) BF3!
|
Quote:
The maps/modes depends on your gamestyle, do you like infantry or vehicles? huge maps or indoors/corridors? do you like to strategize (with squad/friends) or just run and gun solo? Karkand/Armoured Kill are Huge maps with vehicles and all....Metro (though huge) and Close quarters is infantry only..... Conquest will be 64-player maps with going on for 30 mins or so with some quiet moments while you travel to the next objective, TDM and rush are comparatively smaller and faster.... So yeah, it has something for everyone....hv fun! |
This is a great deal if you have'nt investing any money in it yet. I've get BF3 when it came out, and the premium. If you get into it now, you will need the upgrade pack to be on level with the others.
|
Quote:
Karkland has a good variety and are maps remade from previous BF games. Close Quarters if you like CoD style tight infantry map spamfests. Armor Kill if you like HUGE maps that almost require heavy vehicle use to be any fun. Aftermath for a good variety of post apocalyptic fun with medium size maps favoring infantry but with tanks and small helis on some/half the maps. |
is this a good game for PC, or better for xbox etc.? Also, I have old Nvidia GT 8800. Am I out of my league with this game?
(I know, time to upgrade) |
Quote:
I use TDM servers to rank up on weapons. I use RUSH when I'm angry, and Conquest when with my buddies on TeamSpeak3. BF3 is a team based game. Playing solo is not too fun. I play with NoobSaladGaming.com . It's a rough crowd but we have FUN. http://noobsaladgaming.com/members/home |
Oh, just read that the my card is the bottom level performance requirement....
"•Graphics card (NVIDIA): DirectX 10.0-compatible with 512 MB [HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED]RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 or 500 series with NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher performance)" Maybe I'll bite. |
Will this work with a BF3 Russian version?
Thanks, Nicadeli |

Have they ever added (or plan to add) bots to multiplayer?
For me, the multiplayer BLOWS. Dying every 10 seconds to the Battlefield junkies isn't my kind of fun. And no I'm not gonna waste my life away to become like them. BF2 (and Play4Free) is not like this... plus you can play with bots in BF2 and play with your buddies. However the co-op missions and single player are pretty sweet... but too short. It's a beautiful game and plays great... but without bots just doesn't have much long-term playtime. |

I hate that this has the base game... I'd rather pay $20 for the premium upgrades but I don't want to wait any longer for the DLC's. I guess I can't complain I did get the PS3 premium for free with that glitch awhile back. I think I'll sit on my vanilla code for awhile and try to get a friend with a good PC to get in to it.
Such an amazing game. It's no bad company 2 and I hate that the assault class get's the med kit and not the support but its many shortcomings are made up for with its crazy scale (ok it's not bf 1942...) strategic gameplay and gorgeous graphics. Highly recommend to everyone that like's shooters. Give it time and for the love of God support your team and play the objectives. If not stick to close quarters team death match please =) |

I've tried everything to be an effective medic and because I suck so much at range and reaction time I've found the most effective play style for me is to just say *uck range, use a shotgun with buck or slugs and just pop out one hit kills close range. Most players will kill you with two bullets so the best solution is be able to kill them with 1. For new players I'd say use assault with ak74m or m14 as much as possible. Preferably the 74m. Gentle recoil, good range, slow enough rate of fire so you don't have to burst as much. |
what do we think the vanilla codes will be worth? I have the basic version already but hardly play it on the PC
wouldn't mind kicking a few bucks toward premium and getting a bit more into it but hoping for a better return on the base game code. $25 to upgrade to premium isn't worth it for me if we're only getting $5 for the base code |
Quote:
The longer one is the "Regular" game, the shorter one the Premium... enjoy! |
Was on the fence but did end up getting this deal. Guess I'll have to install origin now.

Finally had to jump in and try this out...thanks op!
|
I've had the opposite experience on PS3. Everyone plays medic and as soon as you down someone, he comes right back up. They should make it so that if you shoot an enemy in the head or if you successfully knife someone, they can't be revived. It's makes getting those difficult kills all the more rewarding.
|
I am still debating between this or Crysis 3.
|
If Amazon PMs, does Amazon's come with the Head Start Pack?
I have the base game on PS3, but don't feel like paying $50 for Premium on there. I think I'll get this and start playing it on my MacBook Pro Retina after I BootCamp Windows 7 onto it. I can always plug it into my projector via HDMI and play it with a wireless mouse and keyboard, so it'll be more like consol. ;) |
Hey guys I just purchased it and there's two cd keys, is the top one the base game, cause I own original BF3. I wasn't sure which key was which, I entered both product codes and the limited appeared. However I'm not sure which was in the base one, if I entered both do I still get the base key code?

Tried 3 different cards at checkout along with paypal which I added a 2nd (Discover) card to also. Not one worked! Amazed anyone can purchase.
I give up... Be nice if Amazon price matched, submitted the link, but doubt they will. |
Yea none of my cards working... even called the bank and said it would work in 30 minutes. That was 3 hrs ago... still not working. FML I really want this lol.

At this point, I'm going to bet on the side that Amazon isn't going to PM this.

I've already wasted to much time on it, but in the end it is good because I really don't want to support half baked game releases and then paying the same as base price or more after the fact for DLC when the base game is broke (referring to B2K). |
Any reason everyone's waiting for amazon pm? Isn't it the same w/ the digital keys from either site?
|
Quote:
I personally can't get any payment method to work with GMG so I can't purchase it there for that reason. |

Nah, JK, most of us just have credit there. |

Compare that to COD where if you find the right spot, no one can kill you for an entire match, complete bulls**t. anyone attempting to camp in BF3 is either easily taken down with whatever weapon, tank, or heli. my favorite takedown for a sniper camping in a building or something, is placing a beacon, parachuting onto the building or crane and knifing them. nothing more satisfying than that for douchey campers. |
Just bought myself a copy knowing the base game and premium key comes separate. But now the problem is GMG don't friggin say which key is for which in the email!!!!!!!! F you GMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I just checked out via PayPal without any issues.
|
I should have purchased that shortcut kit that was on sale a few days ago.

Wow this thread was so misleading. I got the impression that this game came with the Premium Edition AND the base game. I figured I could buy the Premium Edition for myself (the game + expansion packs), and then give a friend the base game.
This is simply not true. I just redeemed the Premium Key, and it's just the expansions, NOT the main game. So now I have to use the base key as well to get the game. Maybe I misread, but this thread = massively misleading. |
^ just bought it 3 mins ago and i got two keys.
buy my base key and give it to your friend haha. you or anyone can PM me. |
Quote:
Just wasted $30. Thanks! Consider this a warning to those wanting to buy this. If you have the base game already, then yes - you can buy this pack and just use the Premium Edition code. But the Premium Edition key does NOT include the base game. |

So if you don't have Battlefield 3 already, and want to actually PLAY the game and expansions, you need to redeem both keys. This thread made it seem that was NOT the case, and that the Premium Edition key gave you access to the base game + expansions. |
Quote:
BF3 works much better when you work with your team/squad. Best bet is trying to find some friends to squad up with regularly. It's not just run and gun. For a team to succeed you need people playing all classes and working together. Quote:

So I expected to get the base game in the Premium Edition key. You don't. Again, for anyone else reading this, be careful. Telling me it's "pretty clear" is just nonsense. |
GMG wasn't very good to me. After reading all the posts, I couldn't resist (even though I really don't have the time to play) and I went to buy the game.
First hurdle - you have to have an account. Wouldn't let me buy without it. (I guess that's fair) Second hurdle - credit card wouldn't go through, kept telling me no purchase. Checked all the details and it's fine. Third hurdle - tried second card, cause who knows what could be going wrong with the first one - same deal - tells me card will not go through and I don't have a purchase. Each time the purchase failed, the cart emptied and I had to start over again. Guess I'm just a stick in the mud becuase if it's gonna be this hard to give them my money.... well, maybe I'll try this game down the line... |

attention to detail, it helps. BF3 Premium EDITION = BF3 base game + BF3 Premium Service + multiplayer head start kit which is exactly as the other person said it doesn't make logical sense for any sale to include 2 copies of the same game plus the premium service. everyone selling the BF3 base game key already owns BF3 and is using the sale just to get the premium service which goes for $50 by itself, so this IS still a deal. Premium Service (1 key) = all DLC expansion packs + premium perks (special knife, dog tags, etc.) Premium Edition (2 keys) = BF3 base game (1 key) + Premium Service (1 key) bundled together You redeemed the BF3 premium service (1 key) only. That's where you got confused, to your credit, EA made the terminology needlessly difficult. But either way, it still doesn't make sense for GMG to have a sale with 2 copies of the same game + premium service so I'm not sure why you were expecting something like that. |
FYI, I had the same issue on Monday with Hitman. I opened a support ticket. Each time I got the same message. I tried using PayPal and then a credit card to purchase. I learned from GMG that each time the purchase actually did go through and I had purchased the game three times, despite their message that it had faied. GMG automatically refunded two of the purchases. I hope this helps..

Guys so to make sense of this, If I OWN BF3, but NO expansions, here's how I see it. I need to redeem the first key (20 digits) to get all of the DLC. The 2nd key (16 digits) is the base game + early access to some dlc that I can sell, since I owned just BF3 alone, correct?
|
Basically I put in both keys and now I see it says Premium in my expansions, does that mean I lost both keys now?
|
wow. A LOT of you can't read English and/or have problems with logic. Much love to DJ3xclusive for this killer deal. i was wondering where i could get a discounted Premium pass since i just re-installed BF3 tonight. thanks!!!

I have a question. I'm using a Performance Mouse MX, and I still find that I can't get a smooth enough movement on the mouse when aiming. I switched to my 360 controller and the analog is smooth as butter, and I'm able to on target much more smoothly. Am I doing something wrong or is that just the nature of using a mouse these days? I know you can get mice with adjustable DPI, but that sounds like a lot of button presses all the darn time..
I guess I might have to continue playing with my 360 controller at this rate! |
Quote:
|
Quote:
additional info/explanation: I had this same problem with my old Logitech MX Revolution (the one before the Performance MX). When I bought BF3 a few months after it came out for PC, I thought I had a problem with my video card (HD6850) or something else. I couldn't get smooth gameplay unless I set everything on medium graphics so that I had over 60 FPS consistently. However, with the Xbox 360 controller, I could get smooth motion at anything above 30 FPS, same as you. I picked up the Logitech G700 gaming mouse for this reason and it works great, smooth motion at anything above 30 FPS like the X360 controller. I can now run everything on Ultra (MSAA turned off) at 1080p and I get anywhere from 35 FPS-50FPS depending on the level according to Fraps but it's still smooth. I turn it to high settings on multiplayer especially on smaller maps (more things exploding) for the added frames and smoothness. The G700 though has changed the way I play any PC game with a mouse and keyboard. Being able to customize the 7 keys on the mouse to set them to whatever i want means i have the ability to knife, reload, throw a grenade, etc. with my right hand on the mouse without releasing WASD with my left hand. It feels more like using an X360 controller but with the added accuracy of a mouse. It makes me much faster in playing and I've noticed I was am accurate and have an overall better K/D ratio as a result (i don't really care about that though, since I'm usually the one who goes in for the sacrifice M-COM enabling/disabling, just an observation). It's not DPI though, which is just the sensitivity of the mouse based on how far you physically move it on your desk. The customization for the G700 says that it's the "polling rate", basically how frequently the mouse reports to the USB dongle per second. I'm not sure what the MX Revolution or the Performance MX polling rate is, but it's static, and it's not high enough to maintain a smooth display without microstuttering in BF3. Both of those mice are designed for extended wireless activity, so the polling rate is pretty low for increased battery life, which makes it bad for gaming. I similarly set my G700 at the lowest 125 reports/second for daily use, but i turn it up to max of 1000 reports/second for BF3 or any other game I play. The battery life as a result sucks if you game a lot, but that's fine for a wireless mouse that easily plugs in for recharging or for battery swapping (I use eneloop batteries, and the G700 comes with an eneloop to use as well). The other added benefit is you can have several different profiles for the G700 for different games. I have the standard profile which allows me to use back/forward in browsers and rewind/forward in VLC, etc. and then I have one for BF3, Team Fortress 2 (my most played), Borderlands 2, etc. It's a simple one-button press on the top of the mouse to change customized profiles. That was waaaay more info than you needed, I just kept rambling because I love this mouse, and as much as I hated having to buy it in the first place to play BF3, it's been excellent across all games. it's a bit of a setup and trial and error to get what you like, but then it's no fuss and additional profiles are easy to set up. |

Not sure whats so confusing, it's pretty straight foreword, the premium edition package comes with 2 cd keys, one is the base game, one is the premium content, cant get much clearer than that, the only way you wouldn't need the base game cd key is if you already own BF3 and were making this purchase strictly for the premium content. |
So how do you get/activate the Multiplayer Head Start Kit? I sure don't have it.

Just got off the chat with amazon. Apparently they have a policy in place about price matching that is news to me.
"Jennifer:With the exception of TVs, Amazon doesn't offer a price match guarantee. We do spend considerable effort to ensure our prices are the lowest in the marketplace at any time. Because the marketplace is constantly changing and we strive to offer the lowest price, you'll see some fluctuations in our prices over time." that was from their live chat when I asked for a price match and linked both their price and gmg price. I did point out that the price for half off the north American version from another source was not the lowest in the "marketplace" and that amazon does international business as well and since the game was a digital download from origin servers and therefore they had no overhead than buying blocks of keys from origin they should price match. She agreed but would fell back on the policy. If it works for someone else let me know how please. enforcer |

I think I messed up guys, so when I look at my origin I have BF3 base game (with old key), then I have a BF3 Limited Edition with the new 20 digit key. I also am downloading all the dlcs but cannot find hte 16 digit key anywhere. So does this mean I no longer have a base bf3 key? I wasn't sure which key was which so I entered the 20 first and then the 16.
|
Quote:
Dunno why you would want to install the second key they give you first lol |
Yea I was confused as to which key belongs to what, cause of the Premium and Premium service what not name mix ups. So does that mean since I have a BF3 and BF3 limited each with DLCs in them, that I have two base games?
