It's Tiger Direct - so who knows if you'll actually get it or if they'll cancel your order again and say they ran out.

I'll give it a shot again and see if they cancel.

:edit: Disregard, it was NewEgg that did that, not Tiger Direct. I just received my card from TD.

ForYourBadDeal 02-06-2013 09:23 AM

As usual, let it go to FP!!!

bigmace 02-06-2013 09:24 AM

These are getting pretty cheap. People should stock up on a few before the new xbox comes out and the price jumps up.

sukidesu1 02-06-2013 09:28 AM

I just bought it straight from Tiger Direct and had to pay for shipping. Should have waited a day.

jinrf 02-06-2013 09:31 AM

it's seems the price is gonna be normal...repeatedly seen this

kevgret 02-06-2013 09:32 AM

Another Day another $35 xbox live deal..

ilbknownas1 02-06-2013 09:33 AM

Every time this deal comes up, i get this; The quantity you have entered is not available. Please enter a lower number.

Last time someone said that the price didn't come back down to this price for about 6 months...I sure hope this is the "norm" now...but doubt it

6grapes 02-06-2013 09:41 AM

I think this price is the norm now. With the new generation consoles rumored to be released this year, everyone is trying to get rid of their inventory of these in preparation. These will not work with whatever Xbox Live version is on the new system. I just wouldn't buy more than 1 or 2 years worth.

Why do you say that. Xbox 1 Live cards worked just fine for Xbox live on the 360. I would assume that these have to follow similar rules/laws of gift cards and cannot expire.

daboss1026 02-06-2013 09:51 AM

I would say this is going to be the norm. Especially if a new XBOX is coming out this November.

The reality is that once you buy it, you don't need it for at least 12 months.:bounce:

Agree with this. Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Newegg, etc have put these for $35 in the last 2 weeks.

...hmmm...I wouldn't bank on that....all others you mentioned are now back to mid and high 40s

PeteyTheStriker 02-06-2013 10:48 AM

As I was saying when it rains it pours xbox live cards, but right now its a torrential down pour. This is kind of making me think I am right when I predicted that xbox live would be completely free with the next xbox, because of their integration strategy.

sweetemodave 02-06-2013 11:35 AM

In for one. Solely because my old roommate never deactivated my 360 from his netflix account. I agree that these will probably be incompatible with whatever live service the 720 uses. fits with the pattern of 'integrate all the things' M$ has been pushing lately

donboydeluxe 02-06-2013 11:39 AM

jeez, is there anybody that hasn't bought one of these 35.00 deals by now? seems 35.00 is the new norm. now if some company was to try 30..00 i'll buy yet another one

I'm not sure about that, just b/c soooo many people willingly pay for xbox live as it is. I could imagine a free version with limited options/access and then a premium service (playstation plus style). Or maybe 2 different pay-levels.

I would be willing to bet money that they don't let you use these current cards for the newer version at a 1:1 ratio (maybe you pay the difference in cost). They would probably just let the current Xbox Live run for a couple years, so you have the opportunity to use them on the 360 and then give a 12-month warning that it will be shutting down.

Obviously, I am nobody, but that is my opinion. Companies don't give stuff away for free :D

The point is that they were selling them at $35 at one point in the last 2 weeks. Over the past few month whenever tigerdirect and buy.com sold these for $35 on ebay, they would have a limited stock of about 2,000 - 4,000 to sell. TigerDirect has sold over 18,000+ on eBay right now. As some people have said, this price will probably be a new norm and these probably won't work on new xbox.

books1 02-06-2013 12:52 PM

xbox never changed the live system going from xbox to the 360. why would it change now? people start the dumbest rumors. xbox live is simply paying xbox / microsoft money to allow you to play with others online via their servers. why the hell would these cards not work with the new system? to the guy who said xbox live will be free. thanks, that was a good laugh.

There is already a free level of xbox live, which is very limited. Also companies do give stuff away, all the time actually. Especially if it locks the customer into other services and products for them. Like I said Microsoft with surface, kinect, and windows 8/ phone are going for a new integration strategy so having multiple tiers of service might not be worth keeping around.

armjamil 02-06-2013 02:15 PM

I think I have never paid full price for this.. maybe first time when I bought it, several years ago.
Anyhow.. thanks for posting

FrankAZ 02-06-2013 02:23 PM

Fry's Electronics also has it on their weekly add at $35

Kryspie 02-06-2013 03:13 PM

i wish these were broken up in 12 1 month codes. there's times i go without cable/internet service and those 1 month codes i bought from a guy that won em for free actually helped me save money......

nippystix 02-06-2013 03:43 PM

Seeing so many $35 deals lately makes me believe that perhaps Microsoft will make Xbox Live free for their next console coming out at the end of this year. This is pure speculation on my part, I have no insider info, but it just seems like with so many deals going on, after a relatively quite period, it makes sense to me. Again, this is pure speculation on my part, but it would be pretty awesome if true.

They should at least subsidize the cost with all those ads they keep showing you on the dashboard. Its a great service but Im not addicted to it and it's nothing for me to go a few months without it.

I think they take advantage of the 14 year old Call of Duty crowd that need to be online everyday and the $60 is better than paying a baby sitter for most parents.

Starks 02-06-2013 03:50 PM

i wonder how long it would take for this deal to make fp if a non-moderator had initially posted it.

ploppsdman 02-06-2013 04:15 PM

I remember it being this price around this time last year too .. b/c this is when my service expires. I see no reason to think this is a new price point ...

.

TD has done some douche' things, but I've never seen them F'over anyone on these Xbox 360 deals and they are one of the few stores that still does 1 or 2 $29.99 12 month deals as well.

Why its practically the same price one just says free shipping bc they already factored that into the price.

Oops, you're right. I checked my email and it was NewEgg that did that last November. They sold a ton of cards on Ebay that they didn't have in stock and canceled all of the orders. I left them negative feedback on that one.

TigerDirect came through - I just got my card delivered just a few minutes ago.

Servers? I WISH! Xbox live does not have server game play. A random host is selected (based on best connection/latency/ping/location) and that persons xbox acts as the "server" for everyone else.

I can't post the link here but FYI... 12-month Xbox Gold Subscription Key code available on eBay for $16.33 U.S. only ... Yes it is legit, I picked one up myself. Never seen a deal like it

Yeah I saw those the other day but didn't pull the trigger since they were from China. Kicking myself now, they are gone.
