Looks like points are not immediately credited to the account. I just enrolled my Visa CC (most likely eligible as it is not one of the excluded types) but I don't seen these points on my account yet.

I got presented with other customers names as well. I couldn't find this deal at sears site directly or through google search. Good chance your info will be passed on to someone else.

I think there is a bug on the form...It retains the first and last name of the person who filled that form..Not instant points either.

Completed enrollment with not too much problem. The only issue is that you must agree to text messages when enrolling, but you can reply back STOP in order to opt out of texting. I will probably wait until my points are posted.

i used google chrome. when i clicked on join button it asked me if i am SYW member. i just selected sign in and then click the join button, i see my own name in the first name and last name fields on the enrollment form. i will wait till someone will confirm that they got email/point confirmation.

i have many disposable prepaid phones due to the business i am in..i would like to try to register ,like 40 or 50 of these but am concerned due to the fraud activity that this might be linked to any thoughts?

I remember something like this 3 years ago for JCPenney. You could link your card to their rewards program. For each card, they gave $10 Rewards certificate, stackable. But you could UNLINK the card too :lol: unlink, create new account, link same card again, get $10 rewards. That was epic. My home was furnished by JCPenney

If an associate was caught doing this they would be considered terminated for committing fraud. It is fraudulent by definition, but is anyone really going to hunt down 10-15 various emails and connect them to 1 person who is stealing "fake money created by Kmart".

By law there is no financial loss to the company, only "fake" money.

You understand and acknowledge that a mobile number can only be registered to one SYW Link profile at a time. If another SYW Rewards member registers for SYW Link with the same mobile number that you registered (for example, if you share a mobile number with another person), the last person to register that mobile number will receive the Points for Qualifying Purchases made with any of the cards associated with that mobile number, including the card(s) that you may have registered.


By linking a card to your SYW account through the SYW Link Program, you agree that (1) Visa may share with SYW transaction details (including date, time, and amount) for your purchases and returns at SYW Merchants (as defined below) ), so that Company can award you with Points based on your "Qualifying Purchases" (as that term is defined in the SYWR Terms) and administer the SYW Link Program, and (2) Visa may monitor transactions (including returns) on your registered payment card (to determine where you used your card and the type of merchant (regardless of whether such merchant is a Shop Your Way Merchant (as defined below)) for purposes of triggering marketing communications from Visa about the SYW Link Program on Company's behalf.

Is there an authorization charge after you linked the card? If not, can't you just use an expired or canceled card?

I called SYWR and they told me that it is 100 percent legitimate but sponsored through Visa. She was checking her notes and said points should come within a week but can take a month. That seemed strange to me. She gave me the number to call if I do not receive them in a week. 877-847-2602

I don't think these points have anything to do with the Visa / Link program, these are just the regular freebie points that Sears gives out. Somehow, I now only get 10 points when the give out free points too, I used to get 10,000, but now I think I'm on their naughty list.

I laugh when they post 10 points into my account. Ohhh, that extra penny off is really going to inspire me to buy something from them.

They usually email me when mine are about to expire. Saved me $10 in free gear recently. Maybe you opted out, or never opted in to emails? Just an idea.

I think the 10 points come with those bonus points with restriction that you have to redeem your points to see the bonus. So they give you some points in case you have nothing to redeem.

OK for everyone who has already signed up and registered your card(s) I just got off the phone with SYW and this is what they are telling me.

1) The program is legit and since it is so new they have no idea how it will exactly work (no surprise here) :omg:

2) The points will not be uploaded on an individual basis, rather there will be one data grab about once a month and everyone who has registered at that time will recieve the points at the same time. (They do not know when that will be) :confused:

3) They are not sure if registering 2 cards will get you 20,000 points, but from what they can read in the T&C the two people I spoke with said it appears you will get 10,000 for each card you register. Their resoning behing this is the fact they put a three card limit on the promotion. :greedy:


I would suggest that if you are worried about the points that you call in and have them put a note in your file that you registered for the promotion and recieved a text message, that way if your points never show up there will be a record that you called at the time of the promotion and it should be easier to get your points.

So they told you nothing, essentially.

You have to be patient with outfits like Sears. I believe it mentioned in small print somewhere that it's going to take a certain period of time before the points are distributed.

I did a Sears return and unfortunately a portion of my payment was with SYW pts. It took over a month and a half to credit back my pts after having to email them a few times.

SYW is SLOW.
