Yep, poster needs to fix that link to go directly to the survey.

That's strange, when I try signing in with my best buy rewards email and password it says:
"Invalid Email Address / Password combination. Try Again."

:(

No love for me.

cp59 02-07-2013 01:58 AM

any way to make a central thread for best buy surveys and points? These deal alert emails for best buy surveys 2-3 times a day are getting annoying.

saskia99 02-07-2013 02:22 AM

I get the same error message, I give up :(

buister 02-07-2013 03:41 AM

At first I thought 2 extra BB points for answering correctly, but then realized they're not BB points but Showpoints. Gotta wait 4-6 weeks for the mere 12 points to post to account.

BeckyboBecky 02-07-2013 04:12 AM

I couldn't use my rewards # to sign in, had to use my email addy instead. It let me sign in after that.

benjasmine 02-07-2013 04:13 AM

Thanks for the correct answers. That was easy... TU

typesdragon 02-07-2013 04:17 AM

You don't. It's a separate account where you link to your RZ.

Anyway, this has been around for years and works for other loyalty programs too - Delta, Starwood, US Airways

I usually keep up to date with answers on this thread - http://milepoint.com/forums/threa...via.13819/

Worth roughly 12 cents for 3 minutes of your time. If only you could do this endlessly, you'd make a cool $2/hour. Wouldn't you pay more than $2/hour to get extra hours added to your life?

TravisD94 02-07-2013 06:38 AM

Thank you. I had to look up my best buy rewards number to make the account, it wouldn't let me use my email because it was too long.. Hopefully I get the points.

RUsum1 02-07-2013 07:05 AM

Best Buy's reward zone is acting up. I had 137 after doing my poll yesterday. Today I log in and see only 87 but my poll entries still show up at the bottom. Since my last issued certificate I have 5 polls plus the 12 points from doing this trivia thing before (137 points). I'll wait before contacting them but I should definitely have 137.

As opposed to the zero pennies for three minutes it took you to figure out each point's value and participate in this thread to whine? I hate when people have the ridiculous mindset that their entire life can be given a monetary value.

It's both. You get Reward Zone points as well as showpoints for the trivia site.

I was waiting for that.

A) I have business interests in this area that benefit from the discussion. It's possible to make money from these types of low-return offers, just not by spending time doing them.

B) I enjoy this type of discussion, hence my time invested here is entertainment plus business.

C) Hate and ridicule aside, the reality is that if you choose to spend time doing this because you're making $2/hour, you're forgoing something else.

yangzi 02-07-2013 08:03 AM

First I couldn't pass the page for "log in" as the page was giving me "invalid Rewards ID number". After I entered my Best Buy Rewards number in first box “reward number ID” instead of my Best Buy Rewards login ID (email address), it went okay. Next page told me to set up a password for Audience Rewards program and 3rd page gave me an ID for Audience Rewards (which is different than Best Buy Rewards), so I think I am okay.

I guess that unlike you not everyone has the opportunity to make money 24 hours per day. Not all time spent is at the expense of potential income.

So you don't have a Reward Zone card at all? After all, it's a paltry 2% rewards you get back. Hardly worth the $250 you would spend in order to save $5 later on right?

It's not like this is requiring us to complete a challenge on Fear Factor to win the 12 points. It's a fast survey that we can do sitting at home while watching TV.

You must be a lawyer since you want to record any and all activity that takes your time so you can monetize it.

When did I suggest that I make money every hour? I simply explained that *if* you want to spend an hour of your time for $2 worth of BB credits, you're choosing it over something else. For example, if you forgo an hour of your time obtaining the points at this rate, you'd be $2 in BB credits poorer, but you could use that time to catch up with an old friend, sleep, whatever. It's not just about the money, it's about the alternatives.

The FB promo allows two FB accounts per BB RZ account. 10 FB accounts + 5 BB RZ accounts = 250 points = $5/day.

That's a valid point, but I suspect most people spending the time to earn these 12 cents of BB credit aren't mindlessly doing something else simultaneously. There are people who will actually dedicate 2-3 minutes to earning these points.

Well my "old friends" are not around right now, I'm not asleep since it's the middle of the afternoon, and oh yeah, I'm not spending an entire hour doing this survey...

They were just examples of alternative activities, and I was using an hour as a composite of the time you might spend over a year of doing this type of redemption. More power to ya if it's worth the return. I'm not judging what your time is worth; I'm just pointing out the trade off. Some people overlook.

Even worse, I made $0.00 instead of pennies. :) But it's entertainment for me. I think a lot of people redeem these points for the $. Also, I have business interests in discussing this stuff.

Then what you just said made your whole argument fall through. If you were talking about composite time then how could conduct 5 second conversations with old friends or take 5 second naps. (as you said these are examples). But i bring up bing rewards. I have 5 accounts that make me $25 a month and doing each account a day takes less than 1 minute a day. That amounts to 5 minutes a day, 150 minutes a month (or 2.5 hours). Which ultimately gives me $10 an hour. I make a little more than that and i spend a little less time. Theres not much i could do in less than 5 minutes in a day that i dont already do in a small amount of time.

I doubt anyone spends mere seconds depositing these - the point is that if you're doing this for the return, you cold forgo it and use your time for alternative activities. Especially someone who spends several minutes on several similar low-return efforts periodically. Check email, put on a pot of coffee, whatever. The point is that if you're dedicating hours per year to make a few dollars, you might consider spending that time on something else and being a few dollars poorer.

That's a heck of a lot better return than $2/hour and obviously worth it to you. Logical choice in your case. My threshold is higher, but everyone has their own. I was really addressing those who don't even consider that one exists.

You keep dropping this "business interests" line. What business profits do you gain by debating with random people on the Internet on whether or not actually doing this 1-minute survey is worth the effort?

Philosopher 02-07-2013 09:18 PM

They will restore points lost due to end-of-year expiration? What exactly would one say to get a CSR to circumvent posted RZ point rules? Seriously, I want to know. :)
