Edit: NOT a repost....my mistake. Was an older deal from Dec, this is cheaper and current!

Where's the original one?

I had just finished writing a thread for this deal, then saw that you just posted it, so I didn't post mine. Did someone else post it before you?

So tempted to buy this, but I have so many games on my PC that I don't play already...and I don't think it would play on integrated graphics.

The description to CS:GO seems pretty vague. Is it just like a direct successor to CS:S? So it's just all online teamplay? Or are there new elements?

new game modes like demolition and arms race. hostage and defuse are still here. classic maps like office dust2 dust cs assault are still here. its online (or offline with bots or LAN). new guns and new in-game interface as well as new game menu interface.

valve just introduced CSGO workshop today. thats why CS is on sale. the workshop allows players to upload their content (e.g. maps) to steam. this skips the 3rd party map host. if you want a map, just go to workshop and click subscribe and it will be downloaded. if you play portal 2 or TF2 then you know what this workshop is. also L4D2 workshop was introduced recently as well.

It's basically an updated CS:S. It's fun, looks better, arguable whether it really plays better. I enjoyed it for a bit. Worth the buy, IMO, if you liked CS:S.

as long as you stay in vac secured servers you shouldn't have cheaters because like Microsoft valve /steam will ban cheaters

I actually got pretty darn good frames on the i5-3570k's IGP while I was waiting for my 7870 to come in the mail.

TF2 is way more fun than CSGO and its free. I suggest playing it instead.

No trolling here. I have thousands of hours in counter-strike (mostly 1.6 and prior). CS Go just isn't that great. TF2 is a lot more fun.

Agreed. Although they are a little different. TF2 is more of a game where you can just jump in and have fun playing it. CS imo requires more a little more skill to fully enjoy.

One of my main reasons for not liking CS that much anymore is I want to play the game, not wait 1-2 minutes when I'm dead watching other people play. With TF2 and fast respawn you are playing 99% of the game. With CS you usually actually play <50% of the time.

Secondly, TF2 is just a much more broad game, there are so many different game types:

Capture the flag, cart maps, control point maps, arena etc.

Then there is Mann vs machine. And trading...

Then there are all kinds of custom game types like MGE, dodge ball, prop hunt etc.

i agree, i've spent hundreds of hours playing TF2 but i also spent plenty of hours playing CS 1.6 and CSS back in the day...

But they're just different types of games and it's silly to compare them and say one is "better" than the other. They're both fun in their own right.

...

tf2 and cs is like apples to oranges. i like both. however, i like the cs wait, it gives me time to relax a little, jam some music, plan my next route and has allowed me to have marathon gaming sessions since i started playing back in 2000 on WON servers.

Anti_slick 02-08-2013 09:40 PM

Do not buy this game people!!! The security or firewall of CSGO so bad. Hacks release after a day or even couple hours after the server updates. Again I felt bad for those who bought this game. I purchased it on November for this price too. I do not recommend anybody to buy this. The creator of this game does not care about it so barely update the game. It would take a week to release an update but after a couple hours hacks start release like crazy. The day after that the server full of hackers. I hate this :(
