Tried to add both codes, but no success. Would be a slicker deal though if I was able to apply both.

How awesome of a deal is this? I know amazon has it 213 but is it really that good over other hair dryers

ilikeallofu 02-09-2013 07:39 AM

thanks OP and for the $40 off post... ordered one 4 wifey

bigal24 02-09-2013 07:44 AM

for the $40 off, you have to mail the old dryer back to them, right? So there is another $5-$10 potential shipping costs?

It's not actually sold directly by Amazon, but by 3rd party sellers including folica.

Hard to gauge how good of a deal it is.

the important thing that you want to look for is the Ability to dismantle the unit to clean. Clogged air intakes are the number one cause of burn out. You also want two to three speeds with a cool shot option. Ionic dryers also cause less static allowing for less frizz. I highly recommend the proliss ionic dryers that you will see on bens outlet and 1sad in the $25.-$35 range. My wife's salon uses them exclusively and there has yet to be one that has failed, and that's with heavy daily use. In fact we use the entire proliss line now and from the irons to the dryers not one failure has occurred.

Most hair care tools have highly inflated msrp's. You don't have to spend a lot to get quality products if you know what to look for.

serra 02-09-2013 08:20 AM

thanks oflamingo! can't believe i only saw this today, been looking out for hair dryers. :)

I bought hair dryer by using $40 off code. what if i don't send old hair dryer are they going to charge $40 from my payment?

AEmgee 02-09-2013 09:29 AM

I bought this hair dryer set previously for $80. For comparison I also have a Sedu 4000i and a cheap drugstore hair dryer. Both of the Sedu hair dryers are made in France. I believe Folica might actually own the brand Sedu. They dry hair very quickly with (subjectively) less damage than my previous cheap hair dryer. The 3600i is much lighter than the 4000i and puts out more heat, but doesn't create as much flow. Nonetheless, it is excellent and especially at the $60 price point. Hope this helps someone.

akajester 02-09-2013 09:31 AM

ordered one for the wife. she's using like a 20 year old clunker. I'm sure she'll love this! thanks!

Got one with $40 off for 60 bucks; need to pay for the shipping of my old dryer but definitely a great deal.

Does anyone make a hair dryer with a digital display? For temperature setting, for example, similar to some heat guns.
Not for me, I'm just asking.

jeffliz 02-09-2013 11:42 AM

Does anyone know anything about the cord on this dryer? The one I have now has to constantly be unraveled-it is stiff & it kinks....very annoying-thanks

guitardedboy 02-09-2013 11:54 AM

My wife overpays and goes to Charles Penzone to get her hair done.

She purchased what her stylist uses. The One 'n Only Brazilian Tech Keratin Dryer. They sell it at Sally's. If you wait for a good promotion you can get it for a little over 50 bucks. She loves it and she said it drys her hair in half the time of her old junky target hair dryer. Has a 2000 Watt Italian AC Motor and comes with a 2 year warranty.

Thanks for your post. I have found "drugstore" hairdryers like Revlon and Conair aren't good. But I agree, you don't have to spend a fortune for a good one.

I have an FHI hairdryer that I love. But unfortunately the coolshot button won't shut off all the time, so I have to play with it to get heat.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls sometimes have good hairdryers at great prices. Since I need a new hairdryer, I'm going to check them out.

This deal for the Sedu isn't bad per se, but I don't want to have to pay to ship an older dryer in to get the $40 off. Also, the Sedu is 1600w and I'm not sure that's strong enough for my thick wavy hair.

Yeah but don't you still have to pay for the shipping? I thought it was just a pre-addressed label but then the customer has to pay the actual shipping cost.

I don't see any reason to upgrade, unless your wife is having problems with the dryer.

Hi Ladies, I was given this sedu flat iron as a gift and I have yet to use it. Don't feel bad, my hair stylist hadn't heard of Sedu either. I found the brand by googling and reading a LOT of reviews. My hair is almost to my waist in length, medium/thick, and wavy. I've had a lot of different flat irons in the past 12 years. The 1 1/2" Sedu is my favorite for a lot of reasons: quality, price, efficiency, time saving, durability and long-term condition. I actually have two, just bought a new one (slickdeal) a few months ago and kept the old one (still working after nearly 4 years) for backup.

I don't have to make multiple passes on each section of hair. It straightens perfectly on the first shot and I can straighten all of my hair in less than 20 minutes. It never snags/pulls hair out which was a major peeve with others. I've dropped it many, many times and it still works like a champ. Even with daily use my hair has fewer split ends and is in better condition compared to others that I've tried. It's sleek and smooth and I feel that it causes very minor damage.

My last Chi gave out in just over 1 year. Since you still have yours try dividing your hair in two sections and compare both irons. You may start keeping your Chi under the sink instead :)

I don't know anything about hair dryers. But based on my research of customer reviews, your current Super Solano is awesome and has a history of reliability. I wouldn't switch.

I concur on the assessment that Sedu flat iron is better than the Chi... by far. Given my appreciation of their flat irons, I am hopeful this Sedu hair dryer is equally as awesome. I have a Solano now, but it gives me a bit more frizz than I'd like.

house kitten 02-09-2013 07:10 PM

Thanks VJen, sounds like it's on par with chi or better. I'll have to dig it out to give it a try, no one I asked ever heard of it so maybe it's the best kept secret? If it doesn't work for me, I'll give it to my daughter or re-gift it. Love how SD brings the "beauty salon in the bathroom" people together to shop and learn! :)

shopaholicali 02-09-2013 08:53 PM

Just be a little cautious with this site...last year I ordered a blow dryer...when it arrived it didn't work. Called the company time after time and was told I'd get a return form...never received it. Talked to about 6 different people within the month and FINALLY got a return label. Swore I would never use this company again...

BUT got suckered into a curling iron..when it came there were fingerprints on it..and HAIR in the box. gag called them to get a return label and luckily it came right away.

eibbun 02-09-2013 10:02 PM

Thanks for this deal, I went for this deal because my current hair dryer is a Conair 213X Infiniti Pro that I bought from Amazon in 2008 for $50... so with the recycling program, I'm getting almost all the money I spent to get a brand new sedu? heck yeah :D

Oh wow, a Solano... Most of the good dominican hair salons in washington heights use super solano blow dryers, they are insanely good. Your wife's blower is definitely better than the sedu. I'd get that one but they are so pricey X(

scherrm 02-09-2013 10:12 PM

I bought this same hair dryer about 6 months ago for $30 from Bed Bath & Beyond.
It was an open box clearance item. I realized when I got it home that the mesh filter was missing.
I am very impressed with the customer service that I received from Exceon, located in NY. They sent me the filter as well as the plastic piece that holds it on to the dryer at no charge.

Would I pay $79 or even $60 for this dryer? No. It's only a hair dryer folks!

120 Minute Man 02-09-2013 11:07 PM

Is anyone else having trouble getting their recycle code to work? I am signed in using the same email address.

It says the code doesn't work on this product.

slicksteals1109 02-10-2013 12:01 AM

Seems dead to me. When I tried to apply my unique code, I get this Error message: "We're sorry, your cart contents don't qualify for the promotion code you entered."

That's a bummer because I'd love to get my wife a new dryer.

The only exclusion on the coupon that I got specified that it can't be combined with any other offer...So I don't see why the coupon wouldn't work for this product anymore.

I'm thinking they added the "Free Gift - 2 year warranty" to the deal so that the exclusion of "cannot be combined with any other offer" applies and the coupon is no longer valid. The 2 year warranty is not a free gift! It's already included! It is not a promotion. I think these guys are just trying to get out of selling these for $60...Crappy business

I hope they aren't going to ship these out and then try to collect $40 from everyone who already ordered...

SInce it applies to hair dryer or flat irons I am wondering if I can send in my flat iron even though I am ordering a dryer. I have one of those little mini flat irons I am thinking about sending in.

Only 1600 watts? Will it dry my hair or it will take forever?

house kitten 02-10-2013 06:14 AM

Ya I was wondering that too since now I use a 2000 watt (which I beleive is still only 1875). I think 1600 would take a bit but I am hoping that it is lightweight which is what I am looking for.

tam421602 02-10-2013 06:15 AM

Ordered one...but cancelled my order... Cannot justify spending so much on a hair dryer....

Well I tried a 1600 and it was not doing the job. Unless you have short hair:)

Is anyone else having trouble getting their recycle code to work? I am signed in using the same email address.

It says the code doesn't work on this product.

Now, first thing it says in the "Overview" section is this: "Rebate program does not apply to this item."

I had an old window I didn't close yet and that extra note wasn't there... I bought it earlier and was able to use the recycle coupon.

Me too and since the rebate program does not apply we do not need to mail in our dryer, correct?

yoplait 02-10-2013 10:04 AM

FYI, this is a terrific hair dryer! I have it, and paid more for it. This is a great deal. The wattage is lower than some dryers on the market, which is good for me since I have fine hair. That said, this feels as strong as my previous dryer with higher wattage. You can select low or high speed as well as low or high heat. This dryer is also so lightweight which is a huge bonus. Anyhow, I just wanted to weigh in and let people know that this is a fabulous dryer at a terrific price!

scratch812 02-10-2013 10:48 AM

Great deal for this dryer.

Love10014 02-10-2013 10:54 AM

I've used Sedu dryers and irons for 7 years - they are WELL worth the money, and this price is great. The only better deal they had was a 50% off code about a year ago I think but that was the only time that ever happened as far as I can remember.

They last and treat your hair a lot better. I switched from a Super Solano (which was great too) and like the Sedu ones best. I have the regular dryer which does have more power but also more weight - would go with that only if you have thick, very long or hard to style hair. A quality dryer with better features won't need as much power/heat/time.

Is anyone else not receiving the email with the recycle info? I've submitted my info twice now, and nothing came in my inbox or spam folder...

I didn't either. I assumed it will come in the box but not sure. Don't really care though because I was charged $59.99 and it shows rebate is not valid so oh well, no sense in sending a dryer in. My order shows processing.

Im a bit confused? The $59 price was with the $40 off for the recycled one, so did you do something different? I think if you used the code you still have to send it in.

Yes, $40 off 99 for a total of 59ish. I used the code but fine print says that the rebate is not valid with the dryer. I guess I got it before they changed the website.

I did also, but since we got it before they changed it i think we still have to send it in?
edit: mine is shipped also, so they are not cancelling orders with the code

FatFishJeff 02-12-2013 01:31 AM

Anybody get a shipping notice?....Still shows processing......

Yes. I was sent tracking info last night. Mine will be here Friday via FedEx. I placed my order on the 9th.

house kitten 02-12-2013 06:00 AM

I ordered 9th too but am thinking it probably will cancel. Folica has always had fast shipping and normally would have shipped by now.

I think you are right...always fast..

house kitten 02-12-2013 09:07 AM

I am guessing we won't see these dryers. I had a cancellation from folica before and I never rec'd notice that I would not be receiving it.

serra 02-12-2013 09:13 AM

Looks like you ordered before noon. I ordered at 10PM so I am sure it won't ship. OK with me, didn't need another dryer anyway.

Same, no rebate form. I received a shipping confirmation for FedEx with an estimated arrival date of Tuesday the 19th. Was suprised when the post office dropped it off this morning.

Lola22 02-16-2013 04:26 PM

Mine arrived yesterday, but I didn't get to play with it until today. Overall I am quite happy with the entire package. Going into this I thought $60 was a little much since I already had a functional dyer, but I'm glad I jumped on the deal.

Same here. I used it this AM, I like it but didn;t use the spray or the brush.

house kitten 02-20-2013 05:22 AM

So is everyone sending in a used hairdryer? I have no rebate form and since the rebate did not apply any way I choose not too.

imcoolyourenot 02-28-2013 10:32 AM

i got my item but there's no form to let me recycle my old dryer since they changed it and later didnt allow the code to be used. so does that mean I dont turn in my old hair dryer? I got charge 60 only.
