I received an email today from Ace Hardware offering the following coupons this month.
February 5 - 14 $7 off $25 or more February 16 20% Off Bag Sale (I assume they'll provide bags in-store.) February 17 - 24 $10 off $40 or more February 25 - March 3 40% off One Item $40 or less, max $16 discount for items over $40 Coupons Linky [twc123.com] or Here [twc123.com] In-store only (B&M). Applies to regular in-stock priced merchandise. Not valid on sale or clearance items, Benjamin Moore, BBQs, Weber brand products, power tools, appliances, food & beverage items, & propane exchange. Ace Rewards Card required. The coupons look a little small, but that's how they are. They are printable & usable. You might be able to get Home Depot or Lowes to accept them as a competitor coupon, but YMMV on that. Ace Hardware Store Locator [acehardware.com] |
is ace rewards card their loyalty program card? or is it a credit card...

Thanks. I love Ace H/W.
The 40% off $40 now allows you to buy an item >$40 but they limit the discount to $16. That's a new change from their previous 50% off an item <$30. Time to cash out the free Ace GC's from the Amex small business promo. |
Last time when I tried thses coupons my local ACE Hardware stores did not accept it after scan the bar code. I was told the all stores are independent and we don't participate. So it is YMMV.
|
Very nice will be price matching to home depot and lowes , time to stock up on lump charcoal from home depot or lowes :)
|
Bruce, I need to start following you. I appreciate all of your ACE threads. Needed a way to extend my free AMEX small business gift card purchases (9x$25).

Bruce,
It is very timely you mentioned about their rebates using ship-to-store. I ordered a bunch of tools around Thanksgiving, that had $5 rebates.I submitted a "paperless" rebate. I got a rebate denial notice post card today. "Ace SKU not found". Is there a way to get the rebate, or should I just forget it? It would be nice to get the $ back. Other people in the Stanley Thread have been successfully able to get them to process their rebates with the "Ace SKU Not Found" error via chat. Here is the link to chat with the Ace Rebate Center: LINK [acerebates.com] They are there from 9 AM to 11 PM CST today. Make sure you have your Rebate Tracking # handy. Quote:
There are some other Ace franchises in the area (Rick's Ace) and they don't have as good of coupons as Westlake. They usually advertise in AdPages and their coupons are typically $5 off $25 and a free pair of gloves w/ minimum purchase. |
Your luck with Ace deals can depend on where you live.
The three closest Ace Hardware stores to me won't even allow the monthly ad to be viewed online: "No Ad Available". And I've never received coupons, even after joining Ace Rewards. |
Home depot price matches the coupons? Is this nationwide policy for home depot?

I called their rebate customer service. In about 3 minutes the guy took had taken care of it. It sounded like he had been through the same routine many times before. The website now showed the rebates as valid.
Thanks! |
Many complain that Ace can be pretty pricey but they do a few things that I really like that make shopping there worth it. I know all of us on here are big deal hunters and usually price is king, but other things factor into the real cost of an item.
#1 They buy American-Made products when possible... I went to purchase some Christmas light stakes (when the cheap-Chinese ones I purchased broke) I discovered that even on something as simple as a seasonal accessory, they found an American supplier. The PVC snow sled they had on sale last month was also American-made. Not that everything American-made is amazing, nor everything foreign is horrible... BUT it is nice to have the option when at many stores there isn't. #2 Depending on the franchise they are willing to carry really local or regional items/products. I like the idea that someone can create something and have a retail presence without kissing-up to the retail managers at the big-box stores. #3 Typically I've had better CS than bigger stores. Many are franchises that are family-ran so they have a vested interest in making sure your happy. Since they don't deal in volume as much the customers are less likely to just be another number. Sorry for the rant. Keep the Ace coupons coming! |
Those hoping to match at Home Depot might want to know that last summer, some people here and on other deal forums posted that their local stores no longer accepted printable (internet) coupons. The last time my husband asked at our local store, he was told that they accepted Ace coupons with no such exception, but of course this may vary from store to store and also I (and I'm sure many others) have been told many things by individual employees about store policies that have turned out to be just dead wrong.
Interestingly enough, other people have reported strange policies like that they only except competitor coupons that don't have barcodes (???) or that they won't accept coupons from Ace or Harbor Freight (basically any home improvement store that is not Lowe's or Menard's) because of a difference in the quality of merchandise that causes them to not see these stores as true competitors. If you Google "Home Depot competitor coupons" then you'll come up with a bunch of threads, I'd post them but I don't believe we're allowed to post links to competing sites (other deal forums) here. Anyway, my husband is going to try and use the $7 off $25 on some flooring tools we need to pick up anyway to redo our bathroom, so we'll see what happens. I have a feeling that the "policy"changes with whoever happens to be working. |
Ace Hardware must have been bought out by Sears. I notice they carry Craftsman tools now. 40% off might be a good deal.
|
Added a 2nd link [twc123.com] in the original post for $10 off $40 & 40% off 1 item. This graphic is a little larger & may look better for competitor coupon match.

Thanks Bruce

Thanks, OP.
I was able to use the $10 off $40 this past weekend at my local Lowes. I am going to try to use the 40% off coupon this weekend, since it is valid this week. In the past, my HD accepted my Lowes 10% moving coupon without any problems. |

Now that the Ace 40% coupon is live, I suspect HD or Lowes won't accept it. Its too steep of a discount. It would be sweet if they did. Any & everyone, please share if your HD or Lowes accepts the Ace 40% off coupon. |

Has anyone had luck using the 40% off coupon at Ace? I've visited 2 locations, and at each place, the computer recognizes the coupon SKU (80036159), but it does not apply any discount. I've tried with several different products which are not on the exclusion list. I was told by both store managers that the coupon didn't work, so they couldn't accept it.
Thank you. |

Just checking to see if anyone has successfully used the 40% off at Ace, or at Lowes. I know my HD won't take internet printed coupons.
|
I never shopped at ace previous to last month. Decided to give them a shot with the 50% off coupon. They have by far the best bbq accessories in the area.

I used the original small print coupon. The scanner couldn't read it (scan). The cashier had to manually look at another clean 40% off coupon she had to key it in. I don't think this would have happened if I used the cleaner coupon here [twc123.com]. In any event, they accepted it. Note: the coupon is only good for regular priced merchandise, not sale items. I haven't tried it at HD or Lowes. Curious if anyone was successful there. I doubt it. |
I just used the 40% off at HD for a $12.97 bouquet of roses. Cashier took $5.19 off. I didn't think she'd take it, but she did. She had authority too to take the discount w/o a manager. Woot! I think its a high YMMV though based on the cashier / manager.
|
I tried using the 40% off coupon at my Lowes today and got denied. The cashier had to call the manager and the manger said the max they could do was 10% off.
My guess is the local HD in my area will do the same. |
Just used the Ace 40% coupon at my local Home Depot. I asked manager first and she said no problem.
$39.99 - $15.99 = $24 Thanks OP. Repped. Wow. Lowes $10 of $50 yesterday and now this today. Things are good. |
Used the 40% off to get $16 off the $50 sleigh snow shovel I've been wanting. Just need some more snow now so I can try it out. First time I've wished for snow in a LONG time. Hopefully this will be a bit easier on my back. The heavy snows seem to take more of a toll on me these days.
