Gamefly: Dragon Age Ultimate Edition + Dragon Age 2 PC: $7.99 (Digital)

1 Attachment(s)
This is the best price I've seen - sale just went live, and the 20% off February code works (for now) to make it $7.99. Activates on Origin.

http://www.gamefly.com/Download-D...e/5005392/

20% off code: GFDFEB20

*EDIT*

For those complaining about no STEAM - this is an EA-published bundle. It will never, ever be available on Steam, in the same way that Battlefield 3 will never be available on Steam. So... there!

yuugotserved 02-08-2013 12:11 AM

Dragon Age Bundle (PC Digital Download): Dragon Age: Origins + Awakening Expansion Pack, Dragon Age II $8

1 Attachment(s)
GameFly has Dragon Age Bundle (PC Digital Download) for $10 - 20% off promo code GFDFEB20 = $8. Thanks WilliamG
Includes
  • Dragon Age: Origins
  • Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Expansion Pack
  • Dragon Age II

Ravanne 02-08-2013 01:03 AM

is this for steam?

WilliamG 02-08-2013 01:03 AM

It's EA, and activates on their Origin service (same thing as Steam, but not Steam :D ).

bobbyg27 02-08-2013 08:54 AM

Good deal. TU.

xenacrocker 02-08-2013 10:02 AM

thanks. rebuying for the dlc! much cheaper this way.

firebirdx01 02-08-2013 10:06 AM

ugh i want this but dont want to have origin drm.

xenacrocker 02-08-2013 10:26 AM

FYI for PC users there are some good free fan made mods for dragon age at http://www.dragonage.nexusmods.com/

egads 02-08-2013 10:50 AM

Best price I've seen for this bundle - $8 for two great games. Just purchased it and the 20% off code still works.

nahpungnome 02-08-2013 11:00 AM

Played both on Xbox and enjoyed both. Great price for the bundle.

firebirdx01 02-08-2013 12:56 PM

Is DLC worth it? Just wondering- I have played them both on my 360 and am thinking of gettin the computer version to mod/DLC.

blockhead 02-08-2013 01:02 PM

See this thread for DLC that Bioware is giving away. :wink2:

xt0xicx 02-08-2013 02:00 PM

Wow, good price

Slashinhobo 02-08-2013 02:13 PM

Almost jumped the gun and purchased it until I saw EA(origins). I don't have a personal Beef with origins, but I do prefer all my games in one library. I don't want to have to search through different account/programs to play a game. IF you are an origins fan this is a good deal.

Don't get me wrong - I'm the same way. But this, going forward, is the only way to get EA games. Steam doesn't even have Dragon Age 2 available. So I bit the bullet. Awesome games, so don't miss out.

mystery250 02-08-2013 02:38 PM

I don't see where to add the code? I'm very tempted to buy this...

When you check out, there's a box to copy/paste the code. Should be fairly evident in the checkout process.

newroyale 02-08-2013 02:41 PM

Thanks, good deal but if it doesn't validate on steam i'll pass.

mystery250 02-08-2013 02:43 PM

Thanks. Found it. Have my hand hovering over the buy button.. So tempted... Sooo sooo tempted...

It never will. It's EA games.

xplicitone 02-08-2013 02:56 PM

Just purchased. I've been meaning to get these games. Another one to add to the backlog. Thanks, repped.

xveganrox 02-08-2013 03:15 PM

Wow good price. TU for two good games. Too bad about Origin though, if they were on Steam I'd buy in a heartbeat.

jtonic 02-08-2013 03:24 PM

In for one, great deal, thanks!

lotusmonk 02-08-2013 03:44 PM

Not the best price I've seen (still a great deal though). Amazon had this a while back with all the DLC for all 2.5 games for around $8.50

saner38 02-08-2013 03:46 PM

Can you play Origins on a laptop with an Intel HD4000 card? Or would that be too taxing on the system (otherwise 6mb ram, Intel 3rd gen i5 processor)

Partially true. This purchase will not, but Steam does still sell Dragonage. My copy of DA is through Steam, with DLC (Ultimate version). I got on sale for I think $19 a year ago. The EA deal is great though, but I am a Steam fanboy and prefer my games on Steam.

NOW it's true. Yes, there are some older pre-Origin games on Steam. All the newer EA games are Origin only.

Amen! Long live Steam

Plus... my entire collection is there, why do I want to join new band wagons and have multiple collections from multiple providers, bah! They should just make it easy on us and let us have the keys to add to Steam

It's the same thing with Far Cry 3. Yes, you can buy it on Steam, as I did, but then you have to run Ubisoft's UPLAY system to play it.

I've resigned myself to Steam, Origin, and UPLAY. Just how it goes.

delusional 02-08-2013 03:51 PM

It's just an extra application, and it's free to install; not like buying a PS3 vs. 360, but most people have both anyways. Either way, I wouldn't want to miss out exclusives.

Thx OP. Great price!

You are correct. It'll come with all the DLC for DA: origins, but not for DA2.

NedHead 02-08-2013 05:17 PM

In for 1.

I always wanted to give this series a try but never did for some reason.

ChpByr 02-08-2013 06:02 PM

Bought this over a year ago on Amazon for $7 and still haven't even downloaded them yet. Sigh.

Good price though.

snoturtle 02-08-2013 06:36 PM

thanks :)
Picked this up and added the Fallout Collection in also and get 20% off of everything :D

MozartA 02-08-2013 06:53 PM

So Dragon Age 2 by itself is $4.99 before coupon. I assume coupon work for Dragon Age 2 also(?).

http://www.gamefly.com/Download-D...II/150265/

Rokkyu 02-08-2013 07:44 PM

by the way dragon age II is horrible, the first one was a great game.

D6E 02-08-2013 07:50 PM

First game was great. Second game was garbage. Origins sucks hardcore. Basically a toss up.

gian2ooo 02-08-2013 08:07 PM

In for 1 Thank you OP.

BTW.. I read all the talk about Origin vs. Steam... and I feel the same reluctance as many of you but I went ahead and bit since I use Origin for Crysis 2.. but when I purchased, its having me download a Gamefly client?? Ugh... is there a way around this that I'm missing??

DonPaulieone 02-08-2013 08:17 PM

bought the Ultimate bundle for $15 last week. a week late and now 10 dollars short, this deal appears. picked up DA:2 for 4 bux. Enjoying the Dragon Age series much more on PC then i had on PS3. OP repped!

Hey Saner, I have the same specs as you mention and I am able to run it. I haven't tried it more than a few minutes, but I believe it shouldn't be a problem. I may give it a go during the weekend if you'd like and report back to you. Let me know.

My HD4000 is full of surprises. It runs Borderlands 1, Mass Effect 3 demo, Skyrim on low-med settings without any lag. Just make sure to not have too much stuff open in the background (Firefox with million tabs, videos, etc). After a while I feel it heating up, but I am used to much worse overheating on my old AMD laptop.

cgsliu 02-08-2013 09:45 PM

such a good game. if you haven't played Dragon Age you should go for it. Dragon Age 2 was junk but the first one was amazing!

7bluehand 02-08-2013 10:29 PM

Gotta get the Gamefly client to download

No way around it. The Gamefly client is just so that you can download the game, otherwise there's no way you can download the game if you buy it from them. It's like buying an album from iTunes but not wanting to install iTunes in your PC. Unfortunately you've got to bite the bullet.

vaxine19 02-08-2013 11:59 PM

Ok so I didn't see anyone specifically ask this question. Since DA is on Steam and this is a bundle, is it one single code, or is there a code for each game like with Amazon bundles? And if there are separate codes, did anyone try putting the DA codes in Steam?

NOT true. You do not need to install the Gamefly client to buy this pack. I bought the pack, got the codes in my email, and entered them into Origin. That was it.

This is not Steam. Please read the first post, and the numerous posts in this thread. :)

EricL30 02-09-2013 08:48 AM

Totally worth it at this price. I've dumped more hours than I care to admit into these games.

I would buy, this but with 3 playthroughs already at around 70 hours each I think I've played this one out on the PS3.

BigCTM 02-09-2013 12:01 PM

The codes will not work in Origin. I entered both codes but neither will work. Guess I will have to use Gamefly's client...

No! It's origin! Each game is TWO codes. Be careful to copy and paste up to, and then after, the comma. That's likely your issue!

BigCTM 02-09-2013 12:17 PM

That's it. Figured it out...Thanks.

Like I said... I did. My question was whether there were multiple keys or not. Mostly people were saying that it's Origin since DA 2 is only on their. I just wanted to make sure that if there were separate keys that someone had tried the DA key on steam since that might have a chance of activating.

Answer: Origin. It all activates on Origin.

TLDR: Origin.

What I'm saying is that Steam isn't involved. It's Origin, not Steam.

Oh, and before I forget, it doesn't activate on Steam. I DID find that it activates on Origin. Weirdly, it doesn't work on Steam.
