Not trying to TC, but why the thumbs up? It was $30 cheaper last week from Frys

shockz420 02-08-2013 11:17 AM

would have been in for three....

then saw:
60hz

No good for 3 screen race set up at only 60hz.

jjm5119 02-08-2013 11:21 AM

Twas on sale last week for $399. Still a pretty decent deal, but not great.

Isn't it actually 120hz? I know in the specs it says 60hz but everywhere else on the page it says 120hz. The LG website says its 120hz TruMotion, not exactly sure that is true 120hz or just gimmicky 120hz...

cyberandroid 02-08-2013 11:34 AM

Are the glasses passive or active? TIA.

Features

The 42" 42LM3400 1080p full HD LED tv is a great way to bring a cinema quality 3D viewing to your whole family. LG's Cinema 3D passive 3D technology uses affordable, lightweight glasses that are ready to use right out of the box and never need to be recharged.

You can't get it for $399 today. If you missed out, $429 is still a great price. The next cheapest is $489 at Abt Electronics. It was FP for $420 at Christmas time.

Not funny at all.... Deal sucks compared to last week

raven69david 02-08-2013 01:08 PM

It's $448.00 right now at Wal Mart so this price is pretty good if purchased from Fry's.

It is a 5% difference off the overall price from last week. I believe your definition of 'sucks' needs some calibrating.

In addition, my point is valid. If someone missed it last week and still finds this deal 'slick', then so be it. Take a breath.

Patience young threadcrappa...

The 47LM4600 is better even though $150 more...I saw both side by side at Frys store. The 47 inch looked way better.

East Coast sucks. No Frys for face-to-face comparisons. We do have a giant blizzard coming in though...oh boy!

LG lies about their 120 hz on lower end models. They are 60 hz panels with a strobing backlight that doesn't really amount to 120hz no matter how you cut it.

I thought most TVs only accepted 60hz input no matter what the panel refresh rate was?

Oh another thing was the 42" was 3 inches...quite thick
The 47" is 1.4 inches...very slim
That's another thing to consider.

Good luck there with the blizzard! Rain and Wind here but, Thank God, no blizzard!

they "lie" about all their models if that is your litmus test

they dont have a 240hz panel( like Sony and Samsung)...so even the higher models have that "strobing backlight" action going on...

ditto with Panasonic,Toshiba and Vizio ...FYI

..and you wonder why the pricing is so much less......

Never knew that, I'm in FL and the only time I've seen a frys store was in Vegas. Just looked it up, looks like most of their stores are in CA and then some scattered around. The 2 in GA seem to be the only ones east of the Mississippi, weird.
