Toshiba 32" or Westinghouse" HDTV (Pre-owned) $99 at Cowboom

1 Attachment(s)
I thought this was a pretty good deal so I thought I'd share. I managed to find a category 7 Toshiba 32" tv for $99, with free shipping, but tax was included. I thought someone maybe could find a use for one of these tvs as well.

nice deal, too bad I don't need one right now but it is a good deal if you considered to use them in a secondary room kitchen etc...

Whoo looking at those Class 4 ones and did someone skateboard them in the factory!? If the screen is fine and new I'll just reconsidered getting it :)

Zerogravity107 02-08-2013 11:19 PM

I waited too long to check out, I suppose, and lost one as I was reading reviews.I now can't use SNAKE2013...

I didn't realize someone would find them as I did, when I did.

When I first saw them, the Toshiba tvs had 7 pages, now it's down to two. The Westinghouse had 2 pages, now it's down to only a few models.

Zerogravity107 02-08-2013 11:26 PM

I was in bed, thinking "Hey, they've probably been here for days. Nobody knows."
Launched the SD app...got out of bed and spent the extra 8 bucks. Bummer that I lost it though.

FWIW: Bad reviews on the Westinghouse, though the Toshiba is pretty good for its class (budget).

QuasWex 02-08-2013 11:51 PM

Nice deal thanks OP.

I bought a 19" Insignia TV from Cowboom last week, it was a grade 4 with "significant scratches" and I honestly don't see a single scratch on the thing. Aside from the condition of the box, it could pass as new so I'm confident my grade 5 Toshiba will be fine.

New customers remember to use COWBOOM5 for $5 off!

Dealseeker1930 02-09-2013 12:04 AM

I personally dont find this too much as a slickdeal after reading the comments on the state of the things missing.

Well, early on, a good amount of models included everything. What you're seeing is what's left over. So, sorry....

ETA: Actually, no, I'm still seeing a couple tvs that include everything but the owner's manual. So, I'm not sure what you're seeing.

Iregulate 02-09-2013 12:24 AM

I just used SNAKE2013 for 8$ off so it still works

I really wish I saw this earlier... there is only 1 left and it's grade 4 with missing remote.

Try refreshing. I think they may be adding more because the stock seems to be increasing slightly.

ETA: Nevermind. Looks like they sold out. :(

Yes, they keep going in and out of stock. As soon as a good one comes up, it gets snatched up right away.

I am VERY aggravated! How is it possible that people buy up the TV instantly? I'm sitting here refreshing and the second I see a good grade 5, I add it to cart and it says no longer available! GRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Hrshycro 02-09-2013 01:49 AM

Westinghouse makes the best LCDs. /s

binji 02-09-2013 01:57 AM

I finally managed to snag a grade 5 Toshiba with everything included except owner's manual. My patience paid off. Now I can sleep at ease. Thank you OP! Repped you!

I think the Westinghouse has a thinner bezel and looks more appealing and slim but I guess the Toshiba is supposed to have better picture quality and reviews, right?

The Westinghouse is an LED so thats the reason for the slimmer design and small bezel.

I bought one of those also, mine was grade 5. It arrived in the original box that was beat up real bad , but when I opened it up the TV was brand new. Everything still had plastic on it and sealed, I was extremely happy and lucky. Made a great TV for the baby room and has a great picture.

Great deal, I just got a refurbished 26 inch from Newegg for $90 and I thought that was a great deal. I had tried to get a 26 inch from Cowboom and it came with the co-ax input ripped out. I sent it back. Especially since it was $127 and the same TV was $89 the next day at Newegg.

which tv in NE? can't find any for the price you mentioned.

Keep refreshing if you really want one. I checked multiple times this AM and then came back and refreshed just now and a couple of the WH EW32S3PW for $110 were in stock. Got a grade 5 only missing manuals... reviews for both of the WH aren't stellar but they'll do for a bedroom TV. Thanks OP!

Prince01 02-09-2013 10:34 AM

I saw yesterday and passed, because they are 720p, I wanted to use them as monitor if they are 1080p.
How horrible to use 720p as Monitor?

BNZ 02-09-2013 11:37 AM

So what's the deal with Cowboom? I know they sell used items, but how 'used' are we talking? Are these items that someone owned, used for months (or longer) and then returned or sold to Cowboom? Or are these items that were purchased at a store, opened, maybe used once or twice, and then returned or exchanged?

I'm fine with buying things that are refurbished, but I've never been one to buy 'used'. However, I'm really looking to buy a 32" HDTV and $100 would be more in my budget. Of course, I don't want to buy something that's a waste of money, either.

Anything rated a 5 or above is probably just like brand new. You might find a hairline scratch somewhere on the casing or it might be missing some accessories, depending on the description. I've never bought anything from them that wasn't flawless.

COKEORPEPSI50 02-09-2013 03:38 PM

I have the Westinghouse in my cart but there aren't any shipping options. For some reason they will only allow pick up.

This is NOT 100% true, at least for me, I bought a PS for my son which was listed as grade 6 and when it arrived it has deep scratches all over. I had to return it, but I must say their return policy is really good, but their grading system is out of my understanding.

You might have went to their "Auction" site, where most of the TV's are "pick up only" from CA.

You're the first person I've ever heard from that ever had an issue out of the hundreds of posts that I've read. Personally, I've received from Cowboom;

3 cameras, a Wii, a TV, an Xbox 360, 2 video cameras, 4 BD players, a phone, and a wide assortment of other things I can't recall right at the moment. Not once would I have thought the items weren't new; at least if it weren't for the box looking a bit scuffed up or a small accessory were missing. Sorry to hear you had issue.

They want $6.95 to pick up the TV from them in chino. LOL.

Timbo80 02-09-2013 04:55 PM

I keep getting the "choose best available" screen but no options appear...

BNZ 02-09-2013 06:47 PM

I was able to add a Sony 32" to my cart, but it's only got "Pickup in Chino" as a shipping option. What the hell? I really want to buy the TV, why can't they ship it? Oh well, just my luck.

sunnydays 02-09-2013 07:08 PM

I was just about to post for people to look into picking up one of the Westinghouse for $109, but I just saw those were sold out too. I hope everyone enjoys their TVs. I hope they put a few more available for sale, for those who still want one.

BNZ 02-09-2013 07:16 PM

So what's up with the Pickup only option? Do they not ship TVs or just certain circumstances/locations prevent them from shipping? I don't live anywhere near Chino, so I guess I'm totally out of luck.

Why aren't they offering shipping options other than local pickup on some TVs? I thought they offered shipping on their site, is that only for certain items? Cowboom confuses me.

BNZ 02-10-2013 06:57 AM

I wake up this morning to see that some of the TVs are back in stock, but the prices have now gone up. First with the no shipping options and now higher prices (yet, they now have the ability to be shipped.... for FREE). WTF, Cowboom!?!

It's not scamming... they can do what they want with their pricing. This is typical of Cowboom and pricing fluctuates all the time as inventory changes. If there is an item you REALLY want, I suggest keeping the window open and using an extension that will refresh for you so you can keep checking stock. Or just hit F5 every so often. They restock throughout the day. Good luck - I did get one of the 32" Toshibas and I'm excited, it was a great price. And to think I'd barely unpacked the 19" LED Insignia I bought from them for $50 last week lol.

Price mistake all day long yesterday? $99 for a preowned 32" fatass LCD sounds about right, wouldn't pay a penny more. The other stuff was a joke, sorry you're too refined to get it :shake::shake:

Okay, now I'm pissed. A Toshiba 32in grade 6 is available (with all extras) for only $75. With the new user coupon I can get it for $70. The only problem? Once again stupid Cowboom isn't including a shipping option other than pickup! What's up with this? I saw some TVs earlier that had free shipping options, so why is it when I find a TV that I actually want to buy, it's pickup in Chino, CA only??? Damn!

sunnydays 02-10-2013 11:07 AM

The 32" Sony model that's priced as $139 is showing up as $108 when you click it. I just clicked it and there were 4 models available...3 category 5, and 1 category 4. You may have to keep refreshing it if it says sold out.

I was surprised when ya'll found it for $70. I think that's an amazing deal! I'm wondering if by it being so cheap is the reason it's available for pickup only. I know you've been trying to add a tv for awhile, I hope you get one.

This sounds like a great deal, I hope to get in a deal like this in the future...

Well I rec'd it tonight and the base stand was completely cracked and broken off. I can't tell if it was broken during shipping or not but my gut says 'not' since the box was fine... Cowboom acts like they have TVs for pickup only in Chino and when I asked if they could just ship me the stand for one they said they'd have to 'research' and get back to me within 5 days... or they'll give me a $20 refund - but I can't even find a replacement stand online so that wouldn't do any good.

Got the TV (Toshiba) - it's in horrible condition. Besides the dents and scratches (which I can live with), the colors are way off (like some weird green tint in some places that's like a stuck pixel and won't go away). Also, some idiot sticky-taped all over the screen and body and it left really nasty sticky marks that won't wipe off. This is going back - even if it was $50, I would send it back. Just plain horrible.

Mine was rated Grade 6

I was able to find a replacement stand on ebay and asked CB (via live chat) to reimburse me the $27.50 for it, which they agreed to. Other than that issue, the TV looks excellent.

I received the toshiba (grade 5) last week. It physically is in excellent condition. But I am really unhappy with its tuner. Some really strong channels keep dropping-off frequently and it is annoying me.
I have two usb tuners 2 - 3 years old (avermedia hybrid volar max and hauppauge 950Q) both of which can give a steady picture on the same channels from the same antenna feed. It seems to me that the tuner has very poor performance under multi-path interference. The tuner in this tv is Panasonic ENV56U05D8F, the details of which are harder to find than the details of nuclear facilities in North Korea.

I am at a loss as to whether the tuner toshiba uses is that bad or the tv I got has a bad tuner. I called toshiba support and want me to use a signal booster.
If I give it for warranty service they may take a while and at the end may not find any fault because it works fine with some other channels. And I won't be able to verify that they fixed it until I bring it to my house. I can return it. But I won't find a tv for that price any time soon. It is worth the money even if I use it as a monitor. But the tuner problem bugs me.

Other than the tuner the picture is very good once you switch off the auto brightness sensor under Menu - Preferences - Energy Savings Settings .
But it will increase the energy consumption from 27W to 65W as reported by Kill-A-Watt.

Received the TV yesterday, WW 32" grade 5, very good condition, no scratches and colors are awesome. Bought a Universal Remote for $5 and wall mount for $15.
Now I'll try to get reimbursement for missing stand as mentioned by hil357 , still very very happy.
