This is a pretty old model... Windows Vista.

Unless you're being sarcastic, don't get this. This is a Core2Duo model, very old. Not worth it.

The specs look similar to a L505-S5984 model we bought back in fall 2009 for about $400. It's been a great laptop, and not given us any problems, but it is old. This L505-S5971 is also probably from Toshiba's 2009 lineup. It looks like it includes Vista, so that shows it's age. It's a laptop that was probably released at least 3 1/2 years ago. I have no complaints about the L505 series, but keep in mind how old the technology and operating system are.

well I saw it was like $300 off and with a low price guarantee so figured its a good deal

Laptop has 4 gigs of memory which is a lot for a laptop, and seems pretty solid to me unless you are into heavy gaming or something, and Toshiba overall is a pretty good brand for laptops

This is beyond terrible for the price especially when you can get modern core i3's for $20 more from the lenovo outlet store.

Thanks for the info all. I have all macs in the house and just need a pc to run some programs on. I'm a console gamer but have a dawn of war addiction so I don't need much out of a laptop. I'm really looking for a 17" plus screen anyway.

A decent older laptop....for its time. But in this day and age the only reason someone should get this laptop is if they need something NOW and shockingly cannot wait. This is like a Rent-A-Center or pawn shop model now.
