3-Pack Nike Elite Basketball Socks $30 + Free shipping

3 Attachment(s)
EastBay is selling the Nike Elitle Basketball socks, 3 for $30 + Free shipping.

These usually run around $16-$13 a pair. If you wore these socks before, you know how comfortable they are. These aren't only great for basketball, but also other sports.

Here is the sizing chart for anyone who's wondering(in US men's sizes):

Small: 3-5
Medium: 6-8
Large: 8-12
X-Large: 12-15

These socks fit snug, so I would advise going off of your shoe size + 1.

LOL @ buying these basketball socks. I wear designer brands and what not when going out in public, but I'm certainly not going to dress like a douchebag when playing rec ball. All I need is some low-top socks and shoes, calf compression sleeves, a shooting sleeve on my dominant hand, a head band, and my cross necklace.

No thanks, Jeff...

I can tell you are garbage on the b-ball court by your attire. Wear 1970's short shorts and a wife beater. People will not want to guard you because of the amount of sweat on your body and the amount of manly hairy legs they can see.... I average 50 points a game. ;)

I wear these socks for style points only.

mediums are technically 6-8, large fits 8-12 i believe. these socks fit somewhat snug. so its up to your preference. :)

While I agree the styling is a little overboard and all to common, I admit it is hard pressing to find a better sock for basketball. Some that play the game have to deal with blisters and damage to the feet and these socks deal with these issues well for me. Your feet start slipping and moving around when they get wet. The dry wicking works well to prevent that. These socks are marked R and L and have padding in the ankle and sole specific to each foot. So I can tell you from experience they are worth $16, $13, or $10 you pay. Of course they can be had for less if put in the work. i.e. $8/pr at Famous Footwear during a BOGO sale with a a friends and family coupon stacked. BTW, if you push them down to the top of the high-top to make the stripe less visible, you can go Cornballer ;-)

I'll never understand this love for calf compression sleeves. For years I've been wearing knee highs for volleyball to keep my calves warm and avoid cramping, until someone recommended that I use the compression sleeves instead. What a waste of time, it's the same thing. Now the only time I ever wear them is for beach volleyball, because I obviously have to play barefoot and the knee highs won't work.

I won't give you too much shit for using a shooting sleeve if you shoot a lot and sit down between games though, because cooling down is a nightmare for muscle groups that you use a lot. Before I started wearing the knee highs I'd be putting pants on between games, and even now the first thing I do is get a hoodie on after I come off the court to keep my shoulder/elbow warm.

I'd be all over these if I were knee highs and not mids.

Of course all the kids who play all day in whatever they're wearing think I'm nuts, I used to think that too. When I was < 20 I could play any sport all day in jeans and a t-shirt. Not anymore. I look like I have a million injuries now when I'm suiting up for a game. When all the young kids just walk onto the court and start playing, I'm busy with straps, braces, tape, and stretching.

FalconX 02-09-2013 07:59 PM

are people buying these only so they could look like a pro when they hit the street courts?

Thanks OP. I've been waiting for this deal because I'm missing a few colors :)

Oh, and I totally suck at basketball. I just wear these for style (and comfort). I actually prefer the standard socks over the 2-layer (which is way too bulky). I also tried the Adidas ones, which had a hole in them after 3 games (2-3 hours), whereas the Nike Elites have been worn 20-30 hours with no issues at all.

And I was just kidding, not buying any more socks. I only have 2 basketball shoes (red and blue), so I have enough socks to wear a new pair every day.

deltronz 02-09-2013 08:24 PM

You say the adidas and I may be asking a redundant question but any comparison of these to the Rose socks? I have not tried either so just for reference.

I worry about looking like a tool wearing these for simple rec games, but from the previous comment I definitely get blisters and foot pain in my older age, so the benefits sound nice.

Also, I wear 12.5-13 depending on the shoes. Would XL be best? I saw the post about 12 being top end of the large, but also that they are snug.

TIA

rickrone 02-09-2013 08:38 PM

fp, why?
I think fp should be at least 50% off or greater imo.

Socks are above average but not amazing. I have 2 pairs of these, but i won't be jumping on this deal. I think they are overpriced and are comparable to cheaper alternatives. This would be good for a team that is trying to coordinate, but other then that i don't see the point.

Very nice! I found the White/Blue ones going for $3.99 a pair a couple of years ago at a TJ-Maxx. Needless to say, I brought the whole two racks (about 10 pairs)

Also, updated OP with sizing guide.

bobbyg27 02-09-2013 08:46 PM

Great deal I jumped on these last time. The best part of this deal is the color availability. Sometimes you can find these socks individually for $10 each but in very limited (read: ugly) colors and the uncommon sizes. TU and rep OP!

smacky00 02-09-2013 10:17 PM

You save about $15 by buying three. These normally retail at $15 all the stores I've looked for them at. Even Nike Outlet shops.

I have heard from someone say that some high school kids are able to find these at Marshalls and TJ Maxx for about $8, but I've looked and haven't had any luck.

These are the best deals I have physically seen.

In for 3.

I don't play basketball, but they're good to wear around the house, and when I am at school in the Caribbean, the Dri-Fit socks have been clutch. Doesn't have to be the Elites.

MFlash321 02-09-2013 10:21 PM

How are these socks for ball? Aside from the fashion statement, how do they compare to normal Nike Dri-Fit Crew Socks I wear?

Many times better. They're thick where it needs be, and breathable where it needs be.

The NIke Dri-Fit ones lasts me about 8-10 months before they rip. I have some elite pairs that I have been wearing for years.

damon2000 02-09-2013 11:28 PM

I was skeptical at first, but they are damn comfortable. Only socks I wear when balling. Honestly, I thought it looked douchey when people wore them so I didn't want to wear them... But now I don't mind looking like a douche because they're so nice.

This is the bottom line. If you've been balling for years, you go through socks. These are comfortable and like having an angel holding your feet while you play. They could stand to have one bigger size though (XXL), for those of us with big feets.

there's plenty of other dri-fit type of socks that work the same..

i personally ball in some converse high top socks that i got for cheap.

10 bucks for a pair of SOCKS... no thanks jeff.

vector52787 02-10-2013 01:14 AM

This is a slick deal because this socks don't go on sale. During xmas time they usually run out at regular prices. I bought a pair to try but high socks pull my leg hair. They have extra toe and heel cushion and lower ankle/calf. They have compression straps around ankle and arch. I have switched to no show versions of these socks and i love them. Mainly since they are Right and Left specific they fit great. I am lucky to live in Portland OR. So i got the NIKE employee store to get my socks they cost 8 pair there.

People are not buying these to look like a pro when they hit the "street courts" because the pros arn't allowed to wear these socks.

People are buying these because these are the best damn performance basketball socks out in the market. These are no gimmicks.

If you never had a pair and say what a waste these are, then you have no say in them since you never owned a single pair. Almost guarantee those who say these are a waste will change their mind and buy 10+ pairs after they get one pair.

These are literally the best soccer socks ever.

A lot of cleats have minimal to no cushioning the inner sole (especially those "speed" boots). I used to double sock when I played. It stop the blisters, but my feet were hot as hell during games. With these Nike ones, I didn't get any blisters and my feet stayed cool.

Granted if you need to wear shin guards, these socks aren't long enough to cover them. I simply cut the 'tube' part of a regular soccer sock and sewed it onto the elite socks (or you can use tape, whatever works) .

tmoola 02-10-2013 01:47 AM

Okay I just bought into the hype. I don't especially like how they look but hopefully my feet will appreciate them. A little cheaper than Thorlos with this sale. Anyone try Thorlo bball socks and Nike Elites? Wondering how they compare.

Great deal! Great socks! I own a few pair and after days and days worth of bball in them and immense amount of washes they are still super comfy and look fine to me! Recommend them! You're not gonna find them cheaper except in rare places or instances.

cluelessfool 02-10-2013 02:57 AM

dab0yech0 02-10-2013 03:28 AM

This is a bargain. If you think this is a bad deal you obviously are not into the basketball culture. I've been hooping my whole life, these socks are basically the norm now. Regular socks just don't match up to Elite socks at all.

wonkaucd 02-10-2013 04:07 AM

WildcardHB 02-10-2013 04:17 AM

Best basketball socks period. Super comfortable, durable and the extra padding makes all the difference if you play a lot. Have half a dozen pair already in rotation but a few more can't hurt. Also ordered a new pair of Hyperdunks on sale using the $20 off $100 promo code.

niceperson77 02-10-2013 04:18 AM

i just remembered that i have a eastbay gift card from a few years ago when they were like 50% off through bing. its about $80 and im wondering if these would be good to sell and convert my gc into cash (i only want 1 pair for myself)? i don't really see many eastbay deals.

Yah those socks will nicely accentuate your screen printed three wolves howling at the moon tie dyed shirt.

Boba The Hut 02-10-2013 10:11 AM

I wear Dri-fit knee high socks. They are expensive at $14 a pair (or is it for two pairs).

I know this sounds retarded but they actually feel better than playing in shorter socks. The long sleeve on the sock helps keep my calves warm and i feel like I play better.

Psychological? Probably.

Padding does it for me, these feel great and no need to double up like I do for other types of socks. If you wear these for fashion then yeah, it's douchey.

These are the must have socks for kids in 4th grade and up where we live. If I didn't stock up on them every time I go to the Nike employee store where they are half price, I would be in on this deal. Hey, my son wears shorts and a t-shirt to school every day, regardless of the weather, so I don't mind getting him indulgent socks.

If you never had a pair and say what a waste these are, then you have no say in them since you never owned a single pair. Almost guarantee those who say these are a waste will change their mind and buy 10+ pairs after they get one pair.

Would probably be great for motorcycling instead of paying $20 for my pair of A* socks that seem to deteriorate quite a bit with every wash. Too bad I'm trying to not spend money this month.

The people that call these socks ugly don't seem to realize that the majority of the sock is actually covered by your shoes when you wear this so it doesn't look as ridiculous as you might think. The only part that really shows is the vertical accent line in the back which I think looks pretty cool. These are all the rage in basketball culture, more for their comfort than anything else.

Because the lower percentage is in jail. It's easy to compare within minorities but that would be easy. I'm speaking in terms of humans in the United States, unlike your skewed view of a percentage inside a percentage.

Obviously, math isn't your strong subject, but it's not a surprise there. :D When I speak about a ratio within a certain group, it's the fairest way to calculate. But let's do it your way, there are more white people in jail than ALL other groups combined. And the number of Asian Americans in jail is so minute compared to other groups, it's virtually non-existent.

What else do you want to talk about? The percentage of black people in American professional sports? :D

Let's look at it this way, the percentage of A.A. in the U.S. is less than 5%, but in every famous college/university, it's usually more than 30% of the total.

Sorry for not keeping up with the prison statistics. But if you break down into specific groups, there are still more whites in prison than black and Hispanics, separately.

Edit: maybe not more than blacks, but almost twice more than the number of Hispanics.

While this is a good deal for these, we'll stick with our $20/pair of Swiftwicks. Awesome socks and hold up better than the Nike ones. My 11yo loves them for Volleyball. I know they don't have the brand recognition as the Nike ones do, but I'm fine with that! Good find for anyone who wants these though, thanks OP!

SDCali 02-11-2013 10:18 AM

im thinking of buying some..

I suck at basketball.. i miss lay ups. I like socks that get past my ankle so the top of the shoe doesnt rub on my ankle. These look pretty slick, ive seen people wear them and even ive thought to myself "are these even needed" but i guess if its a good price why not give it a shot. Someone did mention the padding on these are pretty good which would help.

My bottom line is .. for someone who sucks at basketball.. will it really help me improve? or should i just save my money and stick to ankle socks and focus more on my game? oh yeah.. i cant dribble for shit too.. im barely at being able to cross the ball between my legs but only in one direction.. and if i have no pressure(practicing by myself).. but i want to get to the point where i can drive through some people cuz i cant shoot worth sh!t either.

dfabix 02-11-2013 10:22 AM

It's not going to "improve" your basketball game...but it will improve your basketball experience.
I was against these socks for a long time thinking "I buy a pair of 6 for the same price at tj maxx"...
however, after trying 1 pair, I realize how efficient they are at keeping your feet dry and extra cushioned.
They are pricey, but depending on your activity level, they are worth it.
I would suggest washing the pair before your first wear though...that also makes a difference.

As for hiking...I've used them on a small day hike and they were fantastic also....little grimey by the end of the hike, but no blisters and not soreness....I love the extra cushioning around the toes & heel.

If you wear your shoes with zero wiggle room, these socks will be tough to fit into those shoes as they are a bit thicker than average....otherwise, you're good to go.

I wear size 8.5 - 9 shoes and buy the mediums....I don't like the large because the heel area starts to creep up the ankle.

adrianovski 02-11-2013 10:50 AM

How high up do these ride? I know its a crew but sometimes they vary.

dfabix 02-11-2013 11:11 AM

M's will come just below the calf....Larges will go halfway up calf....
this is for a size 9 footed male.

algee650 02-11-2013 11:28 AM

I bought knockoff types at Target and Sears for half the price but for some reason I still need to own a legit pair. The quality is totally top shelf (super thick and padded) but are they worth $15 each....or even $10??

Must.....fight.........the.....urge!!

No, but they will certainly cushion your feet better. What you need is gummy berry juice.

priceprince 02-11-2013 12:58 PM

My feet sweat like crazy when I play bball, leading to soaked socks and blisters. Does the wicking tech on these actually keep your feet dry? I couldn't care less what they look like, I'd wear some old school striped knee high socks if it meant a cure for my swamp feet.

Either you are a troll or really naive and sheltered if it took a Nike sock internet thread for you to realize people pay $10 or more for socks. By the way, there are stores called Saks and Neiman Marcus where socks cost $30-$40. And yes people like me even buy them. Lol

Step away from the computer and look around once in a while.

All I can attest to is that once I got myself a pair, I realized why the extra dinero for a dayum pair of socks.

Before that, I would always stand by my cheapies at the discount stores....
when a pair of socks at the outlets are still the same price as in a FTL, they must know they can get their money for them....

I'd say try it and if you don't like it, send it back to nike for a refund. simple

Its simply the crappy educational and parental system we live in today that results in racism and idiocy, and people needing fake self affirmation by listing opinions as facts, making themselves feel better by simply telling others they are wrong, whether they are or not... so sad... then again so is most of the human race, kind par for the course actually. I am surprised we havent already hit Godwin in this convo (if we did, I didnt see it LOL).

My 10 year old son said "you're one of the cool kids when you have elites!" Thanks for posting, we were just going to purchase online from Nike for $14 per pair + $8 shipping, but checked slickdeals for a promo code (for Nike) and found this.... so much better

srtpusher 02-13-2013 01:52 AM

a good sock is so much nicer when actually playing a sport. the extra padding and tightness around the arch also just feel right. i actually had low cut socks like this and i liked them a lot. i got these for my son, who plays a lot of basketball. they not only are functional, but look good too. he didn't ask for them, but when I told him he could get a pair when we were getting his shoes, he had that look in his eye. dad came through. this was at academy for $14 + tax. he has taken great care of them but honestly, washing two extra times a week is getting old. so i bought 3 more. that way I can wash socks once per week...

I received many pairs of "performance" Nike socks that I got for free, as my coach was a Nike employee here in Oregon. Reebok (and Adidas) has an almost identical $4-a-pair (and $7) socks that wicks sweat and supports feet just as well.

A better analogy would have been getting a great deal on some monster cables, while they are still 4x as expensive as a comparable item even when on sale.

Quite the slick deal.

These are not made in china, but thanks for playing

Its simply the crappy educational and parental system we live in today that results in racism and idiocy, and people needing fake self affirmation by listing opinions as facts, making themselves feel better by simply telling others they are wrong, whether they are or not... so sad... then again so is most of the human race, kind par for the course actually. I am surprised we havent already hit Godwin in this convo (if we did, I didnt see it LOL).

these socks are def not worth 10 each. nike loves to rape people these days and they can. only way nike lose business is if they are caught killing puppies and shooting people living 3rd world countries in the back of the head

with that said in for a pack LOL

for those who are shocked at $10 a sock.

note that there are people and many out there that pay $45+ for the same sock the with a limited design on them. I, however would never pay that much for a sock.

you guys should look into the shoe collection world. Those people dont know how to save money..... they pay $100+ over retail on USED SHOES!!! WTF....

a good sock is so much nicer when actually playing a sport. the extra padding and tightness around the arch also just feel right. i actually had low cut socks like this and i liked them a lot.

A better analogy would have been getting a great deal on some monster cables, while they are still 4x as expensive as a comparable item even when on sale.

All good points.... For tennis, I used to just wear 2 pairs of $2-$3 socks which worked very well (lot of pros still do this), and then I tried a pair of thorlos for like $17 or so, which was a huge purchase for me back then, and well, first feel playing in them was heavenly... unfortunately, after a few uses, it was a lot worse than wearing 2 pairs of the cheapos, which also lasted longer. You get what u can out of that story and guess what I stuck with.

I used to know a guy how had his grandfather bring him new socks every week.... yes, that means he never wore the same pair twice. He was 19 years old when I met him. Regardless of anything, I would probably do the same even now, playing tennis, basketball football, ice hockey, whatever, if I could afford to do that, bec who doesnt like new, expensive socks on your feet??? But he was a golfer actually and still did that, which I thought was sad but then again, his dad left him like 5 mil in his account so what does he care, and why should anyone else... I didnt like the guy but he's not the only guy wasting a few hundred dollars on things, let alone millions or billions by others. Its the world we live in, change it or suck it up.

I bought this deal and just worked out and shot some hoops in these socks. $10 is iffy but they are great socks. You get what you pay for. Pretty much a beefed up version of this sock http://www.eastbay.com/product/mo...u:4208001/

sammysalsa 02-23-2013 11:57 AM

Went to buy another set of 3, and guess they took out some color options for the deal. The colors I bought a week ago are no longer included in 3/$30. Oh well, guess I'll cop some of the more black socks.

This is still active, just put in another order. Literally the most comfortable sock I ever own, they actually make a huge difference even if you're just walking.

ShinraRasengan 03-07-2013 06:39 PM

Seems like its now just $10 per.... unlimited... nice.. I dont like to spend even this much but if i had to wear just one pair and not two, well, these will do very nicely.

well, it has the size in the bottom of the article, you can see it, if you wear 8.5, i think Large will be suitable.

mrredskin 03-07-2013 07:15 PM

wtf happened to baseball socks with the single stripe down the side? this s*** sucks

tmoola 03-07-2013 07:17 PM

These socks are decent. Quality is there but I prefer Thorlo basketball socks over Nike Elites. Thorlo's are thicker which seems to help with my issue of "runner's toe( from basketball)."

Vincedea 03-24-2013 02:57 AM

aww I was going to order some more but the price has gone up to 3 for $33. instead of 3 for $30. owells going to still order them
