Wait until there is a $10 off coupon and this will ring up free at the register - if you are not in a hurry.

Elementary_Watson 02-10-2013 11:58 AM

IIRC, you can reserve these online and get the online price when picking them up in the store. Staples has these in their weekly ad for $4.99 and their policy is to match their store price to their online prices. No need to wait for them to ship to the store. When you reserve the product online and pick up in store, the product is coming out of store stock not warehouse stock as with online/phone orders. So, stores could run out.

Also, free shipping to home if you have Plus or Premier status.

Ordered the max of 7 allowed, received email and picked up 2 hours later. Reps to the op and tu for the thread.

Starks 02-11-2013 09:53 AM

not sure how this affects the product, but when i checked the staples store a week ago, almost all their dusters were well past their expiration date.

good deal though..

for those of you buying in bulk.. consider Metro Vacuum ED500 [amazon.com] a much better choice in air dusting and no more stupid cans.. although having a few can't hurt :)

No, it is $4.99 in the store. Either reserve it online for pickup in the store and get the online price or ask the store to price match the online price.

I was just about to buy the max amount of cans...then I looked at this. Much better long-term solution...thanks!

OnePieceAnime 02-11-2013 10:27 AM

I bought the ED500 and was enamored with it; and then after being shelved for a few months; it seems to have stopped functioning. I was rather bothered by this fact. I thought about buying another one, but not again.

These at $3.29/pair is probably cheaper than the ED500 was considering the length of time it was functioning for me.

this route is cheaper, if you have a air compressor

edit: Never mind, this unit can't be used with just air, but their are others like it

why not just send it in for repair(5 year motor warranty according to some reviewers). Sure it might cost you shipping(might not though) but thats going to be cheaper than this deal. I would buy ED500 in a flash but i mostly need air dusters to dust my computer parts outside(once ever 3 or so month) and there is not power outlet and i would be 2 lazy to run an extension cord there. I usually get 3 pack of 10OZ (30oz total) for $7.99(regular price) at microcenter- although few times i got them either free(for ex. with coupon $25 of $25) or for around $3. This is a good deal though if you dont have MC nearby

oddly mine works great.. maybe you got a faulty one? it happens from time to time.. you should have RMA'd or warrantied it. i do believe its a 1 yr warranty. Or returned to sender for another shipment. Just sayin'

Indeed. Like I said; I was pretty much enamored with every aspect of the product till it randomly stopped working after being taken off the shelf. I thought about going through the RMA process, but my phone call did not inspire confidence.

Sounded like even if I paid to ship it, I' probably wouldn't get a free repair here even though being within the return period. I couldn't justify the cost nor time.

executivedealer 02-11-2013 12:29 PM

Highly debating getting the metro vacuum ed500, would cost less in the long run.

KiraOfTheSky 02-11-2013 01:24 PM

Now I'm indecisive about going with the ED500 or just a few of these bottles. . . Better yet I will get 2 cans for now and buy the ED500 for the summer. Double-Win !

samsen 02-11-2013 01:38 PM

Good deal.
Got 2.
Last time that my laptop was heating and shutting down, this was the only thing that rescued it after a good spray in fan area and all inlets. It is still working fine.

Shipping to the store means you wait a few days for it to ship from the warehouse to the store. Reserving it means you can pick it up in the store in a few hours and the item comes from store stock not warehouse stock like an online order.

I agree completely. I got a Metro Datavac a while ago and it is amazing. For most things it works much better than these cans of compressed gas. I still keep a few cans around for small jobs but the Datavac is great for big jobs like computers. As for the warranty, I'm really not sure how long it is. There were a couple pieces of paper included with mine that listed different lengths.

ciris 02-11-2013 02:55 PM

In for 3

rixey483 02-11-2013 03:04 PM

Today I reserved some cans. Got cancellation email few minutes later.

I had to go the area where Staples was anyway so I stopped in the store. Dusters were in stock and got them to price match to the online deal. No idea why they cancelled my reserve order other than incompetence or laziness.

Be on the lookout for 5/25 catalina, exp 3/2.

Baguda 02-12-2013 05:50 AM

2 7oz. cans for $3.29? That's the best deal I've seen in a long time, and it's a pretty sad price considering in 2006 I got a dozen 16oz. cans for $1.99 each and in 2007 I got a dozen 2-packs of 10oz. cans for $1.99 each at Fry's Electronics. I'm sure glad I bought so many back then and still have several to spare because it seems like there has been hyper-inflation on these things over the last 6 years. Are the chemicals inside super expensive now or do sellers of compressed air just like to jack up prices a lot?

BJLStorm 02-12-2013 06:48 AM

In for 1. Gonna blow some air in my laptop, PS3, and PC as I think all 3 are starting to overheat due to dust build up. What's cheaper, a $2 can of air or a $1000 laptop?

b13 02-12-2013 07:41 AM

I got it from my last staples purchase this past Saturday. Oddly enough I had a 10$ off 10$ purchase

SO i walked into staples (bought these exact air cans-->when they were $4.99) and I got monitor wipes.

Total for me came out to $5.00 then she gave me 5$ off my next 25$ purchase

Placed a reservation online last night -- picked up (8) 2-Packs today in the store -- after tax, came out to just over $27.

Considering the price of 'canned air' these days? .. $1.70/can is well worth it.

Repped!

Not sure on your part but mine came out to the normal 6% here in FL.

gymsock 02-13-2013 02:39 AM

Wish it was for the big cans. What's the life of a 7 oz can, about 6 minutes?

Still, repped since I can hear my hard drive straining under it's dust insulation coating.
 I don't deserve to own a computer :sadwalk:

Fortunately these will be free for me. I went to a Staples about a month ago with a $100 gift card and bought something for about $30. The computer system went down and would not take my gift card, then when it finally went through there was $0 left on my gift card. Bad news! The manager gave me $85 in paper gift cards to use on anything in store with no expiration, which included an extra $15 for my time and trouble. Even still I left the store feeling pissed. She said that maybe I would get lucky and the $$ would go back on my gift card.

When I returned home that night I checked the gift card and apparently their computer system had corrected itself and put the $70 back on my gift card. Lucky me! I've now got $85 that I didn't have before. Surprise! I am no longer feeling pissed. Not a SD, just my lucky day! I've been good lately, must be some positive karma finally catching up with me. But I must not have been that good because if I was I'd be able to buy Amazon gift cards with these free credits.

Compressed air is just that- why would it degrade? Unless there is a leak or dent in the can, I do not see how the product would become unusable. The bittering agent is a deterrent for sniffers and should have no real effect on the function of the can.

What did you told them for them to match the price to 3.29 with free shipping? I am looking at the website now, and the price is $4.99 with no sign saying any instant saving.

My bad, I'm an idiot. I've had the tab for this open since it first started, putting off ordering it. Thats what I get for waiting so long. Also, I think one reply was enough, but thanks for making sure I got the point.

Diamonique 02-19-2013 12:42 PM

They go on sale all the time so this price will probably come around again.

Honestly I've purchased them in the past and still have a couple cans and they are pretty crappy. I didn't think there could be a difference in canned air but there is.
