How good are the earbuds? Whats up with the giftcard? Why not just reduce the price by $25-30 instead?

I would be worried about the 8 weeks to receive the gift card. Knowing me I would forget all about it and they would happen to not send it.

When it is all said and done, this 32GB would cost me around the same as buying a 16 GB from the Google Play store...since Google charges Shipping and tax. Something to think about if you are considering the 16 GB model at all since it seems cheaper.

BluddSimple 02-10-2013 08:37 AM

dammit, tax.

I thought that too, but when they stopped selling the 8GB model I never saw any deals on them. I think Google has a good inventory control and chances are they will allow the old models to sell out before they actually release the new model. It does seem the 32GB has more of a markup on it since it is the only one that is ever discounted.

Yes, new products will come out sooner or later unless the company is going under, then no new products at all.

CruzImperial 02-10-2013 08:59 AM

Damn, should I pull the trigger? Only about $20 discount.

I will wait for it. If you take a look iPad retinal display, you will feel full HD is worth to wait.

Definately not March, if anything it will be revealed during Google IO

cybernevets 02-10-2013 09:31 AM

I've bought two of these from Office Depot at different times during the past few months using a $30 off $150 online or phone coupon (mailed or emailed to me). Net was $233 each. IMHO this is a lukewarm deal.

BestDealer83 02-10-2013 09:33 AM

I'd skip this since you could have quad core tablet for around $250 these days that are 10 inches both new and refurb.
I read online that asus or google is coming out with a new 7 inch tablet with a 1ghz processor{most likely a dual core} not sure about ram{hopefully 1gb ram?} thats going to be running jelly bean right out of the box for $99.
Im not talking about the memo pad for $149 supposedly unless that memo pad is going to be $99 then yes. If this comes out then im buying one for sure.

akbisw 02-10-2013 09:33 AM

I think I am actually going to get a second gen Nexus 7. I was never sold on tabs. But if Nexus 7 2nd gen has the Qualcomm 600/800 series processor I will seriously consider buying one. This thing is still selling better than hotcakes....

aloharacing 02-10-2013 09:34 AM

I've been shadowing these nexus threads for a while...but part of me wants to hold out for the samsung galaxy note 3.

Anyone have any input? People that I've talked to who own a note 2 (in addition to a nexus) say that you don't need both.

Yes its been rumored, but of course its going to have a step down on all components in order to reduce costs, no doubt the margins will be slim.

Of course its not going to have a quad core processor like the nexus 7 - but it wont have the price tag of the Nexus 7 as well. At $99 to get a real dual core processor with 1gb of ram tablet thats runnig pure Jellybean out of the box unlike these crappy chinese tablets out there which would run for about the same price if they really used they same quality parts instead of those allwinner or whatever u call those crappy processors - I think its very possible that this would be true.

The samsung galaxy note 3 and the nexus 7 tablet are not the same thing - the note 3 is a smartphone/tablet hybrid - the nexus 7 is a tablet - not a phone - so ur looking 2 different things here.
If I was you - I would buy a decent smartphone for around $300{Can find a cheaper phone even at $250} plus minus that has an offical jellybean update without a contract and a 7 or a 10 inch tablet instead of buying the Galaxy Note 3 as u mentioned since its going to be a pretty pricey phone - with or especially without a contract. For the price of 1 Galaxy Note 3 without a contract - u can buy 2 or even 3 devices.

BS, have both. Many games look better on the N7. Try Zen Pinball HD. So much better on the N7 compared to the iPad w/Retina. Better, smoother game play as well on the N7. With a sharper image comes more processing power needed to render graphics. N7 gets it right, and with the IPS display, there is no issue at all with resolution - including news feeds. Battery life is much better in our N7 compared to our iPad (both purchased this past holiday). 7" is the way to go for a tablet. N7 is the best out there, and with automatic updates to the OS, no more rooting or waiting.

Amazing tablet. Make sure to get the Tegra Zone games for this.

Here's a good case which keeps the slim profile:

No problems, I kept saying to myself for the past year of entire 2012 and even end of 2011 that Im going to buy myself a smartphone and a tablet since I dont own either one myself officially - and since 2011 I didnt buy either one until now lol. Only reason I didnt buy is because I knew as every one else know that the more time passes by - the more new and better devices come out and the current devices with the current prices will be even lower from 2-6 months time from now, but 2013 is definitely the year to buy. Every year there is a new product - so this is a never ending cycle.

Try to snag an 8GB model on Amazon marketplace. I got one for $155 a few weeks ago and was caught in the same decision point as you.... seemed like a good solution. The one i got was practically new, still had original plastic cover on and stickers.

At - 7.7 icnes - better resolution screen supposedly - better processor more ram - better hardware{LG's hardware is much better than Asus} - that looks pretty tempting. I dont know what about other people but one thing you gotta give to LG - their hardware is pretty impressive and their products last for long time - cant speak on their t.v line up - but I can for their mobile line up - like the LG Optimus 2X that I got for my dumb ass brother 2 years which he dropped 10 times from waist high and nothing happened to the front or back of the phone and the phone works great.
Back to the article - Although Tegra 3 and Tegra 4 are both Quad Core processors - it seems like the Tegra 4 will be the much better bang for your back since I read online in an article that Qualcomm uses more advanced 28nm process for its Snapdragon S4 which is a Daul Core processor, which competes with the Tegra 3 - only for me to add another point to LG's behalf that the LG Optimus L9 smartphone is a great pone since its rocking an S4 processor and the rest of the hardware is pretty impressive as well at $199 without a contract.
Looking forwards for this new 7.7 Nexus.

Im going to be waiting for this new 7.7 Nexus - not a big difference from $155 as u say - and u get a much better device and bigger device.

You can probably get a Nexus 7 now, updgrade to Nexus 7.7 later, and still sell the current one on eBay for $150 or so, since the Nexus 7.7 will probably cost more than the current one.

What's the deal with the Nexus 10? I see Nexus 7 on sale all the time, but I really want the Nexus 10 :(

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 if you're willing to sacrifice some performance for money spent. Kindle Fire HD 8.9 if you're willing to stick with the Amazon ecosystem and a lil less of a performer overall than the Iconia or Transformer tablets. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with a 10" tablet.

This really turned out to be a great deal!! Just received a refund in the amount of $30 to compensate for the fact the gift card would take so long to send out. The PayPal description literally said rather give refund then hassles with 6 to 8 weeks for a gift card. The best deal so far especially since it was also tax free for me.

Did anyone else get double refunded? I've got $60 in my Paypal account now from Buydig, as they gave me $30 twice. Happy early Christmas I guess?

I don't know why BuyDig was even bothering with a gift card when it's more cost effective for them to just give the buyer a $30 refund or just discount the tablet. In fact, they would get more sales for just discounting the tablet by $30 even without the earbuds.

so I got a double refund.. 60 bucks back..

Now I got an email from paypal with the following note:

Note from merchant
Hello, We accidentally refunded you twice for the Visa Gift Card on your order.  Would you kindly return the refund overage by sending $30 back to us. We apologize for the inconvenience.

What is everyone doing?

Man, I wasn't even refunded once...I don't think it's quite right for people to be getting $60 back...
