Iso-Cool Sidesleeper Memory Foam Pillow $33 + FS

1 Attachment(s)
Amazon recently dropped the Sleep Better Iso-Cool Memory Foam Pillow - Gusseted Side Sleeper to $33 with FS. This was $40 up until a few days ago and is the lowest price since December 1st. It's currently $47 at Walmart [walmart.com].

I purchased the sidesleeper and contour pillow from Walmart, and after a week-long trial period, I definitely prefer the sidesleeper. I sleep on my side and would say that it's too thick for back or stomach sleeping.

Be sure to choose the Gusseted Side Sleeper from the options, because the other two are $40.

We have 2 of these pillows and they are great for side sleepers. $33.00 is a good price, normally around $40-45

antsmarchn 02-11-2013 12:21 PM

Does it really work and help keep you cool? I am always searching for the cool side of the pillow.

It starts off really, really cool. I would say that it warms up to be slightly cooler than a normal pillow, but is much cooler than other memory foam pillows.

Note that the iso-cool fabric is only on one side of the pillow. So you can turn your pillow around but not flip it over.

It's not cold but it will be a little cooler than a normal pillow

StrikingDaniel 02-11-2013 12:41 PM

I have one of these I bought back in 2010 for $45 would definitely recommend it. Good price.

JoJoDaClown 02-11-2013 12:57 PM

I have one, enjoy it. I just bought another, since my old down pillow is not quite as comfortable as I'd like it to be. I use 2 pillows, so I can swap in the middle of the night for "cooling effect".

i own that pillow, its too firm, gets hot. I own 2 actually, loved it and bought gf one, i got stiff neck from it over time.

bought this from costco a few days ago (LOVE IT) its super soft, firm too, perfect height, cools my head quite a bit for awhile enough for me to fall asleep. 90 day return policy at costco too

Coejus 02-11-2013 01:03 PM

Sorry; how does this help with side sleeping? It just looks like a normal pillow to me. I'd love to get this if it helps with my side sleeping.

dmx0 02-11-2013 01:06 PM

Good deal. I'm in need of a new pillow and this would be perfect, but I'm a "back sleeper." Would this be fine for someone who sleeps on their back?

xxSaMxx 02-11-2013 01:06 PM

Ive went through so many pilows but cant find the right one. Now I just fold some blankets to sleep on but I wake up with stiff neck. Im also a side sleeper. Think this will help?

Side sleeper pillow are suppose to help take some of the pressure off your shoulder and arm while sleeping. Normally they have gusseted sides and lofted more than a back sleeper pillow.

veekay 02-11-2013 01:10 PM

Seems most of the bad reviews are from the smell.

I've been using a latex foam pillow for a few years, but find it doesn't do the job that well anymore.

Thanks so much. Got it!

Fl4k 02-11-2013 01:32 PM

I like how comfortable it is. The cool side starts out nice and cool but then it gets really warm and you have to keep moving it. I usually wind up flipping it over during the first time I wake up. It's also very firm and heavy, but I love that.

Kair 02-11-2013 01:34 PM

I've had this pillow for a few months now. There was never really a smell to mine so YMMV, I guess.

I love it. It's comfortable, doesn't lose shape, and best of all I don't get headaches or neck pain from sleeping on it!

ugabulldog 02-11-2013 01:49 PM

How does this work with King size beds? Does it cut off between?

Scubasta77 02-11-2013 01:55 PM

This is not FP worthy.....

jmuscle 02-11-2013 01:58 PM

ive seen less for this pillow on amazon

stingray2772 02-11-2013 02:01 PM

I don't notice the smell with mine (directions said to let it air out for 24 hours)... The only problem I have with mine is that I still want it to be about 1" higher...

I hate that I can't find the right pillow... oh well...

brothenberg 02-11-2013 02:02 PM

I also love this pillow.. would like to order another one at this price.. I'm a drooler.. :-) I also wish it was a little longer.. but overall is a great pillow!

i4k20c 02-11-2013 02:06 PM

how is amazon with returns on products like this?

i want to test it out and if it works, i'll keep it.

but too many pillows end up sucking.

pcmax 02-11-2013 02:07 PM

Can anyone recommend a good soft stomach mostly and occasional side sleeper pillow? Sounds like this one has a bit more firmness/height to relieve pressure from shoulders as someone mentioned but i get a stiff neck stomach sleeping on firm pillows.

Not often according 2 Camel. During the past year, it looks like in Dec 2012 it might have been slightly less (maybe $32) and August 2012 it was a little over $30.

joshua28 02-11-2013 02:13 PM

Hasn't it always been this price?? Last time I checked it was the same (around a month ago).

There is an option for a traditional pillow on that link.

I have the ISOcool mattress topper, love it, will be glad to get the pillows to match!

RaGe420 02-11-2013 02:14 PM

Costco has better ones for $29

believethehype 02-11-2013 02:15 PM

Hmm..I've had this added on my Amazon wish list checking prices on it daily since Aug 30, 2012 and it says Price dropped 3% (was $34.99 when added) $33.74.

Cheapest it's been that I've seen is around $31. Was waiting for it to drop down to $25 (lowest it's been on Amazon Price Tracker [urlhasbeenblocked]).

pbmpharmacist 02-11-2013 02:17 PM

I got 2 of these at Christmas, 1 for me and 1 for my wife. We ended up sending both back. We're both side sleepers and they were causing us both pain. Thankfully Amazon WILL take these back so I guess you have nothing to lose if you don't like them.

a901340415 02-11-2013 02:20 PM

finally decide to get one...XD

I own several memory foam pillows, and only the cheap ones ever get warm. My TempurPedic pillows always remain cool and absolutely can't be beat for a good night's sleep. .

Thanks for the point out. Would like to know from someone with actual experience with the Traditional pillow that stomach sleeps. Haven't been able to find the "right" pillow in 10 years.

Have two of these (gussetted side sleepers). I bought one and used it for a few months. My wife thought it was way too heavy and firm. Then I leave for work travel for a week and when I get back, she has taken it and demands I get her one of her own because she tried it out and loves it now.

I bought a second one.

My only wish is that they offered it in King size.

beeker 02-11-2013 03:16 PM

In for 2. I've been looking for a new pillow. These appear to be worth a shot at this price.

That's funny! The pillow does seem heavy and overly firm at first, but my head sinks down into it, and it's both very comfy and very supportive.

Edit: I see what you mean about the king size. But it's a great size for my queen bed.

enzopolis 02-11-2013 04:11 PM

whats the difference between OPs and this [amazon.com] one?

other than the price?

OPs says "22 x 16 x 7 inches ; 6 pounds"
but shipping weight is 5.6 lbs... hmm, they are wizards!

the other is " 28 x 18 x 30 inches ; 1.7 lbs"
is it me, or is that one fatass lightweight pillow?

luxy 02-11-2013 04:22 PM

I am 50/50 between side and back sleeping. Any recommendations?

You might like the contour pillow from the link in the OP. One side is taller than the other. So you could use the tall side for side sleeping and the short side for back sleeping.

Here's another option: http://www.amazon.com/Core-Produc...B000ET9TXQ. The reviews say it works better for back sleeping but also works for side sleeping. I never sleep on my back, so I didn't get it.

robuss76 02-11-2013 05:26 PM

Just ordered this pillow today for $28...Its due to arrive tomorrow but has great reviews. Might be something to look into if you sleep on your stomach or back

Costco was selling it for $35

foampro 02-11-2013 05:36 PM

We have both the contour and traditional shape and love it. It's "cool" but does warm up a little over night but not as much as say a memory foam pillow.

And as an addition, I bought my first one of the gel memory foam pillows over a year ago from Costco for around 60 or so dollars. Now @ 30 it's practically a steal... Much slicker deal than this one that is on FP

Technocian 02-11-2013 08:21 PM

Bought this pillow about 5 months ago off Amazon. Definitely having a square shape is far superior for side sleepers. It is also pretty much resistant to flattening out that happens with traditional fill pillows.

Yes, it stays cool. This is high quality memory foam that has alot more "give" to it than your crappy 10 dollar curvy memory foam pillow you find elsewhere.

The 15-year warranty is a testament to how confident the manufacturer is on how long this pillow will last. 6 months later and it is still at the same height and comfort as the first day.

sidvic999 02-11-2013 08:21 PM

Price up now, and $7 shipping added, unless I am missing something.

collegebudget 02-11-2013 08:24 PM

Off topic question - why not air these out at the factory? Is the volume just too high or something? It seems that it would be easy to sooth negative reviews by getting rid of the smell before they ship them out.

maximo 02-11-2013 08:32 PM

i bought a "i love my pillow" pillow and it was so good my wife stole it from me. Instead of getting another one, is this similar?

Good to hear! I was waking up for 30-60 minutes every night before getting this pillow, and now I either don't wake up or can go back to sleep right away. I still wake up with a sore back, which will hopefully be fixed when my deal alert for mattress sends me something good :)
