Nice find brosef, I have some empty space in my storage room that needs to be filled :D
These probably perform worse than stock coolers, lol. |

wasn't this like 3 bucks (AR) last week ? --(edit: I see the links now...)
Only for Intel systems.... looking for one for an AMD HTPC. Great deal though! |
Limit 1?

Thanks! Looks like it's not an upgrade over stock Intel once you spin down the fan to match the same noise level, but would be good for OEM CPU like the recent deal on the Celeron.
|
 What are the chances I'd ever use four more of these?
|
These use to be the Hyper 212 standard back in the days. Cheap and efficient cooling.
Edit- Actually scratch that it was the Arctic Freezer 7 pro. |

95% chance you'll order 4 more. :omg: :lmao: |
If I buy multiple items, what do I do with all of their UPC codes? Four different forms/four different envelopes? Only use 1 UPC code from one product? Tape four UPC codes to one form?
|
Quote:
Make sure you select "4" as the quantity you purchased. It will have an "add" button when you first start the rebate registration process. After you are registered, attach all 4 original UPCs in the top-right hand corner of the rebate form. Also include a copy of the Invoice. They don't have to be within the box, just make sure they are taped well. |

Thanks again, TDMVP73!
Well, now I will have 8 of these lovely CPU coolers. Not bad for free! Soar |
i wonder if it is worth paying for the CA tax?
|
Quote:
Rebate says "Limit one rebate submission per envelope unless otherwise stated". Can we just one envelope for 4 rebate? |
Frankly, I am tired of CA tax and Newegg's extremely slow rebates. :(

Still they'll pay me a couple of bucks to buy them then sure why not :D |

They ostensibly perform the same or marginally better but quieter at all speeds. |

Oh, I thought it was an Attic Cooling Fan. Dyslexia strikes again. Thanks anyway.

I have successfully received a payout for 2 Tenda Wireless Adapters when I included both UPCs with one rebate form. It would be stupid to send in 4 copies of the same stuff and waste 4 times the postage. Unless the terms indicate that you can only claim 1 prepaid card per envelope, you are okay to submit them all in one envelope. If you dont want to tape all 4 UPCs to the top like I suggested... you can tape only 1 in the designated spot and leave a note to the processor that the other 3 UPCs are on a blank page with your submission. Then, tape the other 3 UPCs to a plain white piece of paper. Write "Original UPCs from Arctic Cooling A7P-75000023 92mm CPU Coolers" on the top of the page. Works like a charm :) |
Have you ever had any problems with the shipping address for the product being different from the Billing address/where I want to ship the rebates? I don't wanna be stuck with 4 of these for $90 bucks because of a rebate technicality.

To be 100% honest with you, I pay tax on every thing I purchase...even out of state stuff that is suppose to be tax free, I still pay tax on it...it is called use tax and I pay it directly to the BOE. Yeah, I know, 99% of Californians do not pay the usage tax, because it is never enforced. I pay it to maintain a clear conscience. The irony of paying tax in California is this: we pay the highest state tax in the union, yet experience the worst of the worst fiscal management due to horrific mismanagement of crooked politicians. Sometime I wish I could move out of there. Soar |

BTW, you got me. I think I would order 4 more. Should I start a computer repair business after all these free fans (case and CPU)? ;) |
iN FOR ONE..
In for one but i hate the credit card type of rebate.......id would prefer a CHECK rebate |

LOL about that computer repair business. Well, I do have a computer business on the side, so that is why these free deals are so attractive. I am not so sure I would trust one of these CPU coolers on an Intel chip [I haven't really seen enough reviews or read enough feedback, or even tried one of these CPU coolers yet]. My plan is to use a couple of these CPU cooler fans in computer cases to simply move more air for a few months and see how they perform. If they appear to work well, I may try one on an Intel CPU chip in an HTCP rig. These fans are easily modifiable to use as case cooling fans. I posted some pics and ideas in post #59 here: http://slickdeals.net/f/5833332-A...ate?page=4 I am reposting the pics for you here. Here's a couple of suggestions I made: I believe these fans can be modified to use inside a computer case to move more air. There appears to be enough plastic to drill some holes and make a special mount [see pic]. Or, people could remove the top shroud that the fan connects to by separating it from the bottom mounting portion, and then this fan is easily modifiable for use as a case fan [see pic 2]. Have a good one everyone! Soar |

How hard is to get certified to teach in CA? I taught electronics in some other place but am afraid to pick up that path.
As for repair business, mobile device repair business looks more appealing. Thank you for your informative and inspiring posts. Good day. Quote:

You enable them by throwing more money at the politicians. Knowing they are crooked politicians how can you continue to go out of your way to support them and in doing so create in you a clear conscience? Seems legalistic to me. No offense, just offering another angle from the viewing glass... ~S |
I'm still waiting to get my rebate from the thermal paste offer back in November from this rebate company. I'll be calling them today since there is no way to email them. Mine still says processing. Not sure I want to chance another $80 and have it held hostage for over 10 weeks.

Example: I just RMA'd a brand new Gigabyte 970A-D3 that had a Northbridge chip burning in at 73c...most of the Gigabyte AMD MB's appear to have Northbridge chips that run hotter than I like. Placing one of these fans in a manner that blows directly upon the NB will help reduce the temperature. Quote:
I also believe there is a line or perhaps I should say a limit, that a government crosses where the mismanagement is so gross, so unjust, so wrong, that taxes should not longer be paid [example: when the 13 colonies finally said absolutely NO to England]. To be honest with you, I do not know where the line is that I should stop paying taxes or begin to withhold taxes from a government that is misusing our tax dollar. Soar |

Becoming credentialed to teach in CA has different requirements according to the subject matter being taught. Every subject matter has different requirements that must be met to obtain a credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Unfortunately, I felt as if I had to jump through so many hoops to obtain my credential. In the end, I suppose it was worth it. I learned a lot that I can use every day, but some of the stuff was totally unrelated to my subject matter. Here are some of the subject matters people can be credentialed to teach: English Science Math Language Arts History/Social Studies Kinesiology Spanish Chinese Industrial Arts Art Music Etc. You can also obtain a multiple subject teaching credential. If you desire to obtain a teaching credential to teach in California Public Schools, you would want to go to the counseling department of any State University, and they would gladly draw the academic map that you would need to follow. This usually entails a full BS or BA centered in the core of your subject matter, then completion of a 6 month-2 year student teaching program. Then you could legally teach anywhere from K-12th, and even some college level classes. How hard is it? I suppose that depends upon how fast you would like to complete the program. Some students take their time and only take a couple of classes a semester. I chose the fast track. I went to the university from 7 am until 11pm 6 days a week for two full years and burned right through the program and graduated with some of the highest honors possible. But not everyone chooses that type of torture! You can also take your time and do it little by little. Hope this helps! Soar |

I used to not mind electronics making noise, but now it drives me nuts. Passive heatsinks or passive liquid is all I will do anymore. I guess I'm actually getting old --I find myself lining my cars with dynomat to kill road noise too. UGH!
|
These received pretty mediocre user reviews even from others who got them for free after rebate. It doesn't sound like they're much better than a stock heatsink for a low-end processor in terms of cooling, but perhaps a bit quieter on those systems if you run them at a reduced speed.
According to the review at Silent PC Review [silentpcreview.com] (from 2008), the heatsink will probably work fine with lower end processors with a TDP under 65 watts or so, which today would be your Core I3s and Celerons. |
Intel CPU coolers w/ pin install. bite. Never again. Back plate types for me.
|
Quote:
Alot of cases today have access to the base of the motherboard, allowing for easy installation/removal of 'back plate types'.If you dont have a case with access to the back plate, these push pin heat sinks are a life saver. ~S |

Don't sweat it. I filed more than $6000 worth of rebates last year and every rebate arrived. Had to wait on some of them, but everyone arrived. Most arrived well within the 8-12 week waiting period. The only nightmare I had was with Xigmatek...they finally mailed my last $58 rebate check 14 months after filing for it. That was absolutely insane. If you follow the simple instructions for each rebate, I have found the companies honor the rebates on a consisent basis. Soar |
I have over $88K of rebates since 1998, just sayin.

Thank you for posting the link to the tests and benchmarks on this CPU cooler. I found it very informative. For me, the most important info was that these fans work best at 7 volts with the following results: 1,340 RPM 22 dBA@1m. According to the people testing this CPU cooler, 7 volts appears to be the best setting for sound/cooling ratio. I will definitely takes this into consideration if I ever use one of these units to cool a low end Intel HTPC. Soar |

I understand. NY is not much different. Pretty much any blue state will have spending issues. You never hear a Texan or North Dakotan complaining about taxation and spending. It all comes down to who you vote into the office to run the state. :D General disclaimer: Not going to start or entertain any political debate. You get who you voted for, and they come with their agendas. So, next time you vote, think before you vote. |
thanks, just got one. my cpu fan is slow to get going. It may just be dust but having a backup is nice. Btw, there still is free shipping for shoprunner members which should include any decent slickdealer

It seems that TD and NE both have a big inventory of this CPU cooling kit.
Hey, TD and NE, put a $0 price tag on it as TD did on iPad 1 cases. We will help you guys clear storage spaces for more important stuff. :woot: |
