Well check this out... came across this on Ebay and thought I would share.

Who gives a damn about twinkies, I need my f'n funny bones!

Truth-Serum 02-12-2013 12:17 AM

mmmmmmm twinkies

spikey911 02-12-2013 02:13 AM

Forget Twinkies....I want my Devil Dogs....

BIG REX 02-12-2013 02:53 AM

They have sold 70 of them already. Better get them while you can. I bet these won't taste like an actual Twinkie. Those bakers that went on strike had some kind of magic mojo that made their Twinkies pure awesomeness.

BIG REX 02-12-2013 02:58 AM

Is this guy smoking crack? I serious hope none of you are this hard up for a twinkie that you buy this from ebay.

They did sell the recipe: This kit includes the recipe book.

They're in negotiations with the other big snack cake/bread makers and the courts.

Hostess in addition to Wonder Bread also made Home Pride bread and Nature's Pride bread. They also owned Drakes...Yodels, Devil Dogs, and Ring Dings.

I know if I tried this they would come out terrible and I would be banished from society.

Too risky.

OtherStalin 02-12-2013 06:13 AM

Does the kit include all the necessary chemicals or am I going to have to find my own supplier?

kc2pll 02-12-2013 06:24 AM

No HDMI, Funny Bones, or Yodels?

Gracie10 02-12-2013 06:29 AM

Made that linked top secret recipe. Was ok - very, very sweet - but tasted nothing like a Hostess Twinkie. It was a LOT of work and not worth it.

I think that's actually a pretty good price considering they don't make them anymore.

ak78 02-12-2013 07:22 AM

I saw another listing on ebay for the same kit, I noticed one of the pictures said ""Recipes included are not intended to replicate the exact taste, shape or quality of Hostess Twinkies". I'd like to get this, but if it doesn't taste like a Twinkie, its not going to be worth it for me. Would love to hear OPs update when the kit arrives.

I have one box of Yodels, they've been in my fridge since the last day I found them on shelves. Just waiting for the right time to cram them in my cramhole. I'm gonna have to sit down with a gallon of Yoohoo one day...

No. That would Be you make the Twinkies, pay for them and then have to give them to others free of charge.

jeepingsurfing 02-12-2013 02:48 PM

Damn you OBAMA banning the Twinkies!

duenor 02-12-2013 03:45 PM

There's plenty of twinkies available on ebay for much less than $50 a box.

This are just the tools to make something that looks similar in appearance. It won't taste the same unless you make a cake mix and filling that has the exact same ingredients as twinkies.

fatbb 02-13-2013 10:25 AM

Very Sweet, too much work, not worth it..
Sounds exactly why they went out of business.

Asryn 02-13-2013 10:37 AM

Youre basically just paying $15 for a pan. You can still use a free recipe online and use a cupcake pan or something else and save the money.

cyfan 02-13-2013 02:19 PM

My mom used to make "twinkies" using a normal cake pan. She just cut them into squares. They tasted about the same.

kiawia32 02-14-2013 12:00 PM

The Little Debbie box of cloud cakes for $3.09 everywhere isn't better? Twinkies were always an impulse purchase/binge to me, so I don't get the same satisfaction trying to make these at home.
btw, this was $10 at my local cvs back in december, so I tried it. The taste is close, but not worth the time. I gave the pan to my little sister so she could experiment with some different recipes for other cakes.

BosuxRedsux 02-14-2013 12:10 PM
