btubesing 02-12-2013 12:15 PM

I think it's a good deal for a nice jacket, but I don't have a Cabela's within 2 hours of me.

Would have been in fora Dark Tan for work jacket. Actually the Tundra is quite nice...

Really pissed I lost my three seasons jacket when I did. that thing was PERFECT for Oregon's crappy rain season, not too heavy, not too light. just perfect... Now they don't carry it in my size, in black. :(

GilaMonster 02-12-2013 02:01 PM

A shame. Love the Tundra but there's not a Cabela's store within a day's ride of my location. The Southeast seems to be Cabela no-man's-land, excepting Greenville SC.

FlipBumWalla 02-12-2013 02:06 PM

Since when is it OK to charge extra for XXL?
That's not cool.

gogyroswin 02-12-2013 02:19 PM

For those worried about not having a store near. It comes out to 38.94 shipped to California...no tax.

I don't know.. always? Larger jackets means more material.. do you think they just stretch the large ones to make XXL? :lmao:

muoip 02-12-2013 03:17 PM

some drunk walked off with my jacket the other day - this is perfect timing for an inexpensive replacement.

Descentxxx 02-12-2013 03:21 PM

Wondering what Cabellas sizing defines a Regular from a tall size? anyone know?

Wow shipping is 9 bucks. At around $40 it's still a decent price.

Just wait a couple of months until it's the only size left and priced for clearance.

Actually, Greenville would have been great, since it's about 24 miles away (from me in Hendersonville, NC), but I just searched stores in my area code and Charleston WV (at like 380mi) is the closest store. Bah!

Walmart's been doing it for years. Sucks, I know.

For the jacket, only the small size is available on all 3 colors. The rest are only tundra color.

DealBreak 02-12-2013 04:51 PM

Looks like a good work jacket. Would rather the insides were a dark color as it'll get filthy. Sorry, that's the dumb crap I think of.

Repped...

One other thing. A lot of people complain about a short jacket and long arms. Seems like one of those pieces of clothes that fit is trial and error.

testshoot 02-12-2013 05:29 PM

No stores in New Mexico and this isn't a Shoprunner store...so...no go for me...oh well...

SD4ever 02-12-2013 05:49 PM

In 4 1. repped

Anyone have any experience with Cabela sizing? I wear M at Banana Republic. Not sure if Cabela's sizing is looser than this?

digduck 02-12-2013 07:41 PM

Looks nice, and debated for awhile, but I ultimately picked one up. It sucks that there is no store remotely close to me, and I had to ship it for $9. But my current canvas jacket has holes through the sleeves already so its about time to replace it.

There was only Tundra left in Large, hopefully it looks ok.

I have 2 Cabela jackets in medium. I want to say that both of them have fit me pretty differently. I am 5'8 142 pds, i usually sport regular to slim fit. One of them fits me perfectly and its a nice goosedown and the other jacket is slightly too big around the arm. I still dig this canvas jacket and will take a chance on a small this time.

What color is tundra, is that a dark green close to olive green? cant tell from the pic...

cyrusfox 02-13-2013 09:51 AM

I grabbed one, have to wait till Feb 25 its saying till its available at store, with tax came to 32.01 for me, thanks OP, Repped.

DrinknHand 02-13-2013 10:41 AM

Bought one of these on clearance last season for little better price. Best fitting tall jacket I've ever bought and super durable. Size runs a little large to accommodate a hoody underneath if you need one. Great value.

How much more? If it's just a couple of bucks I can see that as its more fabric and heavier shipping, more buttons, longer zipper, but if it's like $10+ more, then I agree that's BS. Especially since they don't charge us less for small and kids clothes often cost more than adult duds do, which also drives me crazy. Especially given that you only get a few months of use out of them when the kid is really young. Blah blah blah, sorry for rambling.

Have you been in a Cabela's before? Let's just say that a larger then normal percentage of there customers wear XXL (not poking fun, just an observation). I would expect it to sell out just as quick if not quicker (depending on how many they ordered of course),

Banana Republic? Going from a upper income, urban hipster, GQ guy look to the Cabela rugged outdoors look eh? Just having some fun!

They don't have any nearby, so I've never been in one. Your logic is sound, but it seems like manufacturers make enough XXL sizes to ensure that they'll never sell out. Then again, I live in a state with one of the worst problems with overweight citizens in the nation, so maybe I just see more then my share of XXL sizes.

Can't go wrong with the canvas jacket - it's a classic look!

kwkincer 02-19-2013 05:34 AM

Picked up a Large on Saturday. The sleeves were really long - past my hand. Exchanged for a Medium, which is too snug... Grrr. Maybe the sleeves will shrink in the wash?...

sarg52 02-19-2013 05:39 AM

I bought the vest last fall. For the price it is OK but do not expect the same quality and weight as a Carhartt.
