I used the thankyou link on to renew my subscription which expired in October of 2012. The order was accepted based on my account. Have not gotten a verification email yet, but when I put in my subscription information, it confirmed I was eligible for the offer. Maybe there is some grace period on renewals.

The first link has the message about $1 renewal for 26 issues but the only thing you can select is 23 issues for $11.97. The second link quickly goes to the page and then redirects to the main insider access page. I guess that one isn't working anymore. I guess no deal for me.

Has anyone gotten any e-mail confirmation after going through the checkout? I tried it with Firefox, and IE, none worked. I signed up for the one year subscription two years ago and they're still sending me magazines. The Insider, the only real useful part, expired after a year a scheduled though. The only use I've found for the magazines is as lining for my parrot cages.

The thankyou link worked fine the other was trying to charge me $26 but now I have ESPN till 2018.

I've had the same issue in the past. Apparently, even if you have a long-running subscription (like I have--taking advantage every time one of these deals pop up), you have to call in to customer service and re-activate your Insider access annually. It's kind of an annoyance, but they'll walk you through it, and there is no additional charge as a magazine subscriber.

Is it just me or is there no box to enter in my billing address?

FYI - if you have extended your ESPN the Mag subscription more than 48 months (as I have, I think I'm paid until 2019 under various deals like this) the Insider subscription will not associate properly online. You have to call their customer service dept. Apparently they have a tripwire set in the system to not allow Insider subscriptions to run for more than 48 months to prevent fraud. They will give you the Insider subscription, it just has to be over-ridden by customer care.

When I subscribed to the magazine, I periodically got these offers in the mail for one dollar for a year. The magazine is fine, but they get you on the autorenew and hope that you forget.

This sounds like a great deal, even if it was just $1 for Insider access without the mag. However, the auto-renewal part concerns me since I can see me forgetting about it and then getting charged the full amount next year. : \

Probably not, as you need a subscriber number to access. I don't know if you get one with Zinio.

Is there a way to get your insider access online before you get the first issue? My subscription lapsed but I was still able to renew for $1. However when I login it wants me to input the code off the label from the magazine to get Insider access.

they answered the phone pretty quickly and i was able to get my number in minutes (took about ~2 weeks after I ordered the sub to get my ESN not sure how long it takes for renewals -- they might be able to provide it immediately)

also what i did after renewing for buck was generate a fake credit card number and replace mine that they now had on file so that in case i forgot to cancel (oct. 2014; im sure i would) i shouldnt be charged.

yes, definitely make sure you guys cancel ESPN insider! i had cancelled online with ESPN the magazine and STILL got charged 44.95 for ESPN insider and it was my first year with insider so i didn't know the magazine and insider were two different things kind of. quick call and they refunded my money, but yeah just a heads up :) it's quite silly that insider costs 44.95/year when you can subscribe to espn the magazine for 11.99 (and even cheaper sometimes) and get free insider.

Good deal. I don't even bother opening the magazine except during college football seasons. ESPN Insider access is pretty useful though, since they tend to put more and more interesting articles behind the paywall.

Mine is up in 2018 and for $1 I'm adding a year.

As for the auto-renew issue...just use a credit card that will be expired by the time they it is set to renew.

I checked my online bank statement and got charged the $26 for a year. I called 888-549-3776 and got transferred to the Magazine Subscription department and they gladly refunded me $25 to my credit card. Can't beat $1 for a year subscription of ESPN.

There are a few different ways to go about it, check the original post and try them all.
Others have reported that they were able to get it with long-expired subscriptions and I want to say that there has been at least one post from someone who was never a subscriber.

Folks..I used the code and was approved to subscribe for $1.. Now when I login to ESPN it says activate snider and wants to pay 36.95

I got the email confirmation and the link to activate my Insider but it doesn't work. When I spoke to them they said I can't activate Insider until my first issue ships.

You need the code off of the magazine label to get insider for free. So wait for your first issue.

You can also get the account number by logging into you account at the magazine. Once you account is active (in a week or two) you can retrieve the number and start insider before you receive your first issue in the mail.

Not sure if it is helpful, but I had renewed my subscription a week before this post, at regular price ($79.95/2 years). I called customer service to cancel, and they offered me a 50% refund, reducing the 2 year cost to $40. If anyone else is in this predicament, a decent consolation prize...

Try again, another CS agent should be able to prorate the cost and cancel your subscription.

I auto-renewed, called them and told them I did not want to renew. The gentleman was kind enough to credit everything back to my cc.

Not really when you can often get it for free or less than $5 per year. I'd call back and cancel the renewal completely and get all your $ back. That's just me though! :D

You can get it way cheaper online constantly. Probably because it's one of the worst magazines out there. It's literally only worth it for insider.

Prettty much. There are like two issues monthly I take a look at - the fantasy football issue and the naked issue. Occasionally the MLB preview too, but insider for a dollar is absolutely fabulous. Just a note I did have some issues last year when using the promo - they tried to auto renew me for 27 bucks or something dumb but a phone call after fixed it right up.

I usually re-up once a year after signing up initially for 2 years.

Gonna give this a try, thanks. I got the original for $1 and did this thanks deal a few years ago. I forgot to cancel and they got me for $24 last winter. I was too lazy to call about it. I actually read the magazine so it didn't seem terrible... after this it will be $27 for 4 years.. meh. rep'd.

Think it actually works more often than once a year. I'm subscribed through 2020 now. Not sure how much further I want to push that.

I think that was my point in my other post on this thread, which is how did you get subscribed through 2020? Did you you use the same link over and over and they charged you $1 for each year? I think I just recently receive an email that gives me an additional year free. Anybody else receive this? tia

Be careful! Check your credit card charges. I got charged the full $26/year on this month's statement and had to call in to get it changed to a dollar. And I was already subscribed through 2018.
