Hey evo thanks for the heads up on this. My current 4 year subscription that I got for $5 is ending in November, so this came at a great time. Thanks and repped!
|
Hmm possible problem, it seems when I went to the renew the sub it charged my credit card for the usual $11.99 even though it says clearly below its for $1. Oh well if the charge goes through ill just cancel it, meh.

Very odd. Definitely should bill out as $1 only. Double-check that when it posts. Maybe they adjust it? |
Quote:
|
Dammit. Just renewed couple months ago for 11 bucks when the expiration wasn't till March.
|
Yes, same issue with the price saying 11.97. Anyone able to confirm it will only charge $1?
|
if that doesn't work, you can also try espn.com/thankyou
It's what I use every year. |
thanks, just in time since mine was expiring soon

Got some java error on the 1st link, but espn.com/thankyou worked for me.
Does anyone know if you can cancel the magazine - I really just want insider access!? |
Yes, OPs link got me the page with the 11.97 subscription. Renewed using espn.com/thankyou. Repped both.
|
Worked from espn.com/thankyou for me! Thx.

That espn.com/thank you link worked though. Thx. Quote:

I've got a subscription which runs through October - anyone know if I renew now if it just tacks on an additional year? Thanks.
|
I had to check the 26 for $26 box to get the offer, even though it states a $1 for the year, it says it charged $26 to my VISA on the final page. Anyone else have this?
|
Quote:

I got the same thing that it says it charged me $26. I took a screen shot of the $1 offer to contest it if there are problems (i.e. I am charged more than $1)

Thanks! Just added another year to my subscription. Now bumped out to 2020!

Use the espn.com/thankyou link. The first link only gave me the $9.97+$2 price, but the second link got me the $1 price.
Great deal! |

Your subscription will expire with the May 11, 2015. Used the thank you link and that showed $1. The other said $1 but showed $26 as the selection. We'll see if it adds another year. |
Anyone know why my subscription for ESPN magazine is good for another year, but apparently I have to sign up for Insider again, which depending on which website I'm on, could incur a charge? Always thought that as long as I had ESPN magazine, I had Insider access.
I hate ESPN's website - it's so poorly managed. Also, did anyone get a confirmation email for the 1-year extension? |
got the $1 with the thankyou link, best dollar spent on fantasy football all year!
|
same here. OPs link led to a "$26 for 26" bullet. went thru espn.com/thankyou and was $1 all the way. thanks OP & whoever posted the thankyou link.
|
Just got an email today that I had to renew my subscription. I used the espn.com/thankyou site.
|
Renewal at the espn.com/thankyou link worked perfectly. $1 for 12 months more of colorful packaging material!
|
My subscription ended a while ago so I'm not eligible for this renewal....are there any good deals for a new subscription ($5 or so)?

The first issue of your current order is Jun 1, 2009. Your subscription will expire with the May 9, 2016. Haven't seen the charge show up yet. |
Added optional link.
Thanks to pobonilla415 for the alternative method. Repped +4. |
Quote:
I tried espn.com/thankyou, went through the checkout. It said thank you for the renewal for $1. But on my Magazine page, it still says it's going to expire Apr 1, 2013. Thanks ahead |
is this only for current members? not new ones?
|
The first link has the message about $1 renewal for 26 issues but the only thing you can select is 23 issues for $11.97. The second link quickly goes to the page and then redirects to the main insider access page. I guess that one isn't working anymore. I guess no deal for me.
|
Used the espn.com/thankyou link and was able to get the 26 issue renewal for $1. Thanks OP!
|
OP link gave me $26 for 26 issues. Used the espn.com/thankyou like the others to get the $1 for 1 year. Thanks for the heads up
|

Thanks for the deal. |

Hm. Subscription expires in Dec 2014 already. Do I need another 26 issues -_-

Finally got it to work. espn.com/thankyou worked in IE.
|
I signed up for the one year subscription two years ago and they're still sending me magazines. The Insider, the only real useful part, expired after a year a scheduled though. The only use I've found for the magazines is as lining for my parrot cages.
|
The thankyou link worked fine the other was trying to charge me $26 but now I have ESPN till 2018.
|
Quote:
Whoa. Updated the original post to let people know to try using IE / Firefox / Chrome if it is not working for them. I use Chrome, FYI. |
I've had the same issue in the past. Apparently, even if you have a long-running subscription (like I have--taking advantage every time one of these deals pop up), you have to call in to customer service and re-activate your Insider access annually. It's kind of an annoyance, but they'll walk you through it, and there is no additional charge as a magazine subscriber.
Quote:
|
Is it just me or is there no box to enter in my billing address?
|
Mine expired a month ago but this deal works! First link give me $11 but the thank you link give me $1. I suggest everyone should try this deal even thou your superscription has been expired.

For some reason I can only do 26 dollars for $26 issues. I've tried both link, on the second link clicking "manage account." Am I missing something?
EDIT: Nvm. Both first and second link didn't take me anywhere. Just manually type in ESPN.com/thankyou. Thanks! |
Great deal thanks!
|
Nice! Thanks for the deal OP!!
|
My card is set to expire this year. Does that mean they won't be able to charge it since they won't know my new expiration date?
|
espn.com/thankyou
^^Use that, it works. One less Mcdonalds dollar menu burger in my stomach... darn! :P |

Glad it worked out for so many people. Nothing like 52 weeks of bathroom fodder plus website access to geek info when it comes time for Fantasy Football season for $1. And, even after all the years, I still smile when a deal makes front page. |
I've tried this multiple times using both chrome and IE. I get the espn page that says I've successfully signed up, but when I double check plugging my acct # back in, it hasn't been updated. Also, no confirmation email. Any ideas please?

Any deals for a new subscriber? I actually had them the first couple years they came out, but it didn't find my subscription (not surprised). I really only want ESPN insider for a buck.
|
espn.com/thankyou worked for me. otherwise was offering me $26 for a year plus a "free" pullover
|
I kept getting $26 using Firefox. Tried IE and it worked like a charm. $1 for 26 issues. Repped.
|
I think I'll wait for the discountmags deal for $4/year that they run every few months. No auto-renew.

espn.com/thankyou has been around for years...just not always active.
FYI - Once you renew for a year you can go right back and extend for another year. Since I've done this a few times in the past (good until 2017) I'm going to pass this time around. |
Just in time, thanks.
|
Thanks OP, /thankyou worked. I love my Insider..

Great deal but doesn't the title should said "ESPN Magazine & Insider 1-Year Renewal $1 + Free Shipping for current subscribers only"

FYI - if you have extended your ESPN the Mag subscription more than 48 months (as I have, I think I'm paid until 2019 under various deals like this) the Insider subscription will not associate properly online. You have to call their customer service dept. Apparently they have a tripwire set in the system to not allow Insider subscriptions to run for more than 48 months to prevent fraud. They will give you the Insider subscription, it just has to be over-ridden by customer care.

much appreciated OP. Up to 2015! |

Literally, this has been around for years. |
Took about 7 hours after I ordered before I got a verification email.

In for 1 more year at $1. Insider is really what makes this worth it. FYI, didn't work on IE, but did work on my Android Browser.
|
Neither of the links offered the $1/yr price in Chrome for me, but the second link did work in Firefox. Thanks OP. Repped.

Thanks and reps to both!! In for another year!!

I was able to type in the web address and I got it to work. I have a confirmation that says $1 to my MasterCard. Now I'll wait for the confirmation email.

Second link with firefox works, Renewed it with a disposable credit card with $5 limit, I should be good till 2016 :)
Thanks and Repped. |
I also used espn.com/thankyou and got it for the $1. Great deal!

Even if this doesn't work, the RewardsGold link in the Free Magazines section can net you another year for free, I think.

Link did not work, however, Espn.com/thankyou did work!

According to Espn CS, if you try to use the link and you are more than 1 yr from your account expiring, you will not be allowed to get the $1/1 yr deal. Your account would default to the $26/1 yr.

Now covered until August of 2017...solid!

it can take up to 24 hours to receive confirmation from ESPN according to their customer service.
|
Thanks OP! Still waiting on e-mail..
What is the easiest way to cancel auto-renewal? |
Quote:
Anyone received their confirmation email yet? |
When I subscribed to the magazine, I periodically got these offers in the mail for one dollar for a year. The magazine is fine, but they get you on the autorenew and hope that you forget.
|
This sounds like a great deal, even if it was just $1 for Insider access without the mag. However, the auto-renewal part concerns me since I can see me forgetting about it and then getting charged the full amount next year. : \
|
Will this work if I have one of those weird free 3 issue e-subs from Zinio they gave away a month or so ago? The only thing I *really* care about is the Insider.

Is there a way to get your insider access online before you get the first issue? My subscription lapsed but I was still able to renew for $1. However when I login it wants me to input the code off the label from the magazine to get Insider access.

they answered the phone pretty quickly and i was able to get my number in minutes (took about ~2 weeks after I ordered the sub to get my ESN not sure how long it takes for renewals -- they might be able to provide it immediately) |

also what i did after renewing for buck was generate a fake credit card number and replace mine that they now had on file so that in case i forgot to cancel (oct. 2014; im sure i would) i shouldnt be charged.
|
i used the espn.com/thankyou link and it appeared to have worked on that page but i don't see an extension of my account in my account summary and i don't see a $1 charge on my CC. maybe it will take time to show up or maybe it won't work at all. if so, oh well. current subscription (2 years for $8) goes til Dec 2014.

I purchased this at 11 this morning and it is now 4:30 and still no e-mail.. anyone else?

Worked for me manually typing espn.com/thankyou on Chrome for iOS. Haven't had an active subscription in more than a year. On safari they tried to charge $26.
Thanks, OP & Wiki person! Reps to both. |
Quote:
The key is to TYPE it in. I tried the link in several different browsers - each time I got the $26 offer. But when I typed it in (Mac OS - Chrome) it worked. Thanks! |
yes, definitely make sure you guys cancel ESPN insider! i had cancelled online with ESPN the magazine and STILL got charged 44.95 for ESPN insider and it was my first year with insider so i didn't know the magazine and insider were two different things kind of. quick call and they refunded my money, but yeah just a heads up :) it's quite silly that insider costs 44.95/year when you can subscribe to espn the magazine for 11.99 (and even cheaper sometimes) and get free insider.
|
Quote:

Worked for me . . . showing $1 and I still had a subscription until 2015. Typing it in worked just fine. Thanks for the help.

**EXPIRED MEMBERS: It worked for me!**
My subscription expired in 7/2011... Like many others, I couldn't access the deal via the link - but when I typed it in, as others suggested, espn.com/thankyou I got the deal for $1! Thanks, OP! Repped! |
Good deal. I don't even bother opening the magazine except during college football seasons. ESPN Insider access is pretty useful though, since they tend to put more and more interesting articles behind the paywall.
|
Quote:
As for the auto-renew issue...just use a credit card that will be expired by the time they it is set to renew. |
So you have to input CC info again for Insider activation?
|
I checked my online bank statement and got charged the $26 for a year. I called 888-549-3776 and got transferred to the Magazine Subscription department and they gladly refunded me $25 to my credit card. Can't beat $1 for a year subscription of ESPN.

I wonder how much money Disney (ESPN is owned by Disney, right?) has to pump into that magazine to make sure it stays afloat. Especially when Slickdealers are paying a few bucks for a few years of membership / subscription. |
I dont have an espn subscription. So no way for me to get this right?

No reason not to give it a try. There are a few different ways to go about it, check the original post and try them all. Not sure if it is helpful, but I had renewed my subscription a week before this post, at regular price ($79.95/2 years). I called customer service to cancel, and they offered me a 50% refund, reducing the 2 year cost to $40. If anyone else is in this predicament, a decent consolation prize...

Try again, another CS agent should be able to prorate the cost and cancel your subscription. I auto-renewed, called them and told them I did not want to renew. The gentleman was kind enough to credit everything back to my cc. Let me know if a different agent works out for you. |
