Is anyone a member of the Yankee Candle Testing Panel?

I had an email from them yesterday. Good thing I checked my spam folder. You get 5 pts for short surveys and 10 for longer ones that can be exchanged for a gift card once you have 25 pts you can get a 25$ gift card. You also get the opportunity to test new candle ideas out. Just wondered if anyone had experience with the Yankee Candle Scent Forum. Thanks.

fuzzykiwi48 02-12-2013 11:22 AM

Are the gift cards only for Yankee Candle products?

RedGlo 02-12-2013 11:29 AM

evidently. it said 25$ Yankee Candle Gift Card. Which would work for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their candles.

Mrseric 02-12-2013 11:36 AM

Me too! But they are expensive. I only buy one or two a year if I get a good deal on them.

Was there any link in your email for others to sign up? I don't see anything mentioned about it on their website?

lovesfury 02-12-2013 11:53 AM

Is there a link to sign up for the panel

Scrappy02 02-12-2013 11:58 AM

Thanks for the heads up RedGlow

Do you have the subject line of the e-mail? Is it an invitation to join or what exactly? Any info would be helpful. Thanks again.

Title: Exclusive invitation from Yankee Candle

We'd like you to be a part of the Yankee Candle Scent Forum.

We strive to bring you the best product and fragrance experiences to help you create a warm & inviting home, and we'd like to hear your opinions and thoughts to help us continue to do so.

As a Scent Forum member, you'll have exclusive access to polls & surveys on new products, fragrances, and advertising, as well as opportunities to share your opinions on products you are using currently. By participating in surveys, you have have the chance to earn free product and other offers from Yankee Candle. For every survey you take, including this one!, you will be awarded POINTS. For every 25 points that you earn, you will receive a $25 Yankee Candle gift card. The number of points awarded will vary depending on the survey length – most surveys will be worth 5 points, and longer surveys worth 10 points. The link was user specific I think because when I click back on it it says my answers have been recorded already and thanks for taking it.

Dyane78 02-13-2013 08:00 AM

Is it a legit Yankee Candle Forum? or maybe theres a reason it was in spam...

seems too easy, only 25 points for a $25 card? if this is real, you are very lucky!

Mrseric 02-13-2013 11:28 AM

Wow! That is crazy. Bizrate?!

I am not fond of Yankee Candle customer service at all. I like to shop in thier stores, but never online. My Mom bought a candle from them last Christmas, that arrived smashed inside the box. She had a heck of a time getting customer support staff to reply to emails or phone calls. When someone did finally reply, it was a form letter, kind of like what you posted. They told her to send the candle back for a refund. So My poor mom packed it up, sent it back...and a few months laster got a credit on her credit card for the refund. But they didn't reimburse her for return shipping, never ackknowledged that the candle had been returned, never followed up with her, never aplogized, never extended a credit for the inconvenience....just awful.

Probably most off-course reply I have ever received. Thankfully she closed it with what her favorite candle is, I'd have been losing sleep over that question for days...

Wow, nice customer service for your mom. I would have had to keep annoying them until an acknowledgement was given to me about the shipping paid. She should not have ad to returns shattered item in the first place...:(

I think it is legit because I already got a preview of a new product that I may get to test (which I obviously can't discuss). If I can get more information I will provide it. I wasn't concerned about the spam thing. For some reason I get a lot of legit emails that go to my spam folder.

sg357 02-15-2013 10:42 AM

I emailed them and this is the response I received....

I am a member...I am wondering myself how do you redeem? I can't find anything on their site.

Oh, it is legit. I finished another survey. Just not sure how it all works.

RedGlo 02-18-2013 11:19 AM

What happens per their email yesterday is that they are just developing a site in process as we speak. I have done two surveys so far. If you have done enough surveys for the gift card (5 pts for short surveys, 10 pts for long surveys 25 pts=25$ giftcard) they are in the process of mailing this week. I have only done two surveys so far, so 10 points. Three more short ones and that should equal a gift card. Hope that helps. They said when the website is complete we will be able see our point balance yet until then it in included in their emails. Sounds like they got the cart before the horse so to speak in starting surveys prior to having a website.
