This will wake up lots of ppl :D anyway, here is the deal

TD has a USB extension cable for $40-$60 coupon DFF82681 means you only have to pay shipping to get it.

The net price is -$20.01 and it also applies to other items, the interesting part is that, one can order multi cables and the coupon savings will stack. Make sure the net price after coupon is greater than 0 or the order wouldn't go through.

I want to put money down that Tigerdirect will charge you full price for the items THEN ship it out to you. Then you will return it and they will recharge a restocking fee... you've been taken to town.

Didn't TD do that before? Where there was a price mistake that they charged people full price. It could have been for a TV, then people had to ship back the TV and lost money. lol.

Yeah that is why I went with one a8 3850 and one usb cable. I can live with it if necessary. Don't think I won't call American Express and raise hell though

They can't do it. Worst case is they cancel all of orders. I ended up with 136 of APU 3850 and 2 Dell U3011. Also, I paid 1 day shipping for more chance too. I always get lucky with these price mistakes. Let's see :cool: .

well I just checked my order history and it says the cable is 1300 dollars and the coupon has been taken off. Oddly enough my order total is around 50 bucks which is what the apu would have cost by itself

Yeah, they're going to defy the rules of the credit card companies, who they rely on, and bill your card for more than you authorized. Then they're going to pay the chargeback fees when everyone disputes the charge.

OR... they'll cancel some orders and let some pass, or cancel all of them.

Was tempted to try this but I just don't trust TD. The straw that broke the camel's back on this one though is their system trying to charge me tax on the order total before the coupon.

Tax: $6.17

41% tax rate is pretty high even for Texas I think... ;)

Brb getting charged $3000.... They can't seriously try to pull that after you click "confirm order" for a $40-70 order? If they do anything but cancel it, that's insane. Committing to buy something for one price and being charged another..

My totals were not negative though. By "total shipment" I have very large amounts of money lol, the amounts of everything in the order other than the cables. The invoices are not available, I'm just clicking on the order numbers and looking at the status.


edit: The temporary authorizations on my credit card show the amounts I saw at checkout (discount applied so ~$40)

imho, TD packaging has been better than newegg/amazon. a lot my stuff from newegg/amazon come squished/damaged

What worries me is this talk of being charged restocking fees. I used one of those "one time" use cc cards too, but it still won't stop them from charging a small amount for restocking and cancel the order.

Lots of good deals tonight to combine with this. The $43 quad core CPU (if you were quick), the matching $20 AR motherboard (which is what I did), plus the fans, which I'd already done.

But absolutely, they're less likely to cancel a legitimate order because of the cable mistake, since it destroys good will.

Got cancellation email this AM with all items cancelled in the order.

Just got shipping confirmation on one of the cancelled items and of course charged full price.

Does anyone know how to change your address in the system without calling? I have clicked everywhere in My Account and do not see it. I've spent hours on the phone with those knuckleheads and everytime they try and correct, they F' something else up on the account.

Guys, you were warned many times from the posts in this thread about what exactly will happen and what TD will do. It's too late once an item is slated for shipping, wrong address or not. You have no one to blame but yourselves.

Get a CC that gives you virtual numbers with assignable spending limits. That way TD has no choice but to cancel your order which was exactly what they did with mine.

Looks like they removed the cables and coupons from the order. If I get the TVs, I'll be happy.

did all your items go into backordered before shipping?
I bought 1 usb cable + the FAR kingwin fans tdm posted, but it all went into backordered so I decided to cancel and buy the ultra 120W slim power inverter on fp + the kingwin fans instead.

In the past I purchased something with my rebate card. It was also a $10 card, but was able to purchase items > $10 :D

wow i just got a shipping notice for some items i had ordered when the coupons were still going through.

after i got the email about the error, i contacted customer service right away and told them i wanted to cancel the order, which the CS rep confirmed that he did. also got a chat transcript sent to me just in case.

i wake up today and theres a shipped notice with UPS tracking, but they went ahead and charged me full price for the items as per tigerdirect website. my credit card charges are still pending but they still reflect the coupon-applied price.

we'll see how this plays out... im willing to keep the items if i get it for the coupon price, but if the price jumps on my CC statement, going to dispute it.

Yup, I have done that before as well and it works for me. Just write "I'm refusing a/the package with the tracking number [insert number], thank you!" and sign it. Optionally, you can draw a little smiley face to make his/her day better, but YMMV on how he/she reacts.

Yep, that's worked for me. As have notes saying to leave the packages at my door and not ring the bell, send the package to my neighbor and myriad other requests.

UPS drivers are pretty good though. My FedEx drivers seem to be complete nutjobs on the other hard. Thankfully UPS pretty much has a monopoly at my address.

Ok ? I've received/shipped hundreds of packages and if there is a problem (incorrect address/delivery intercept/undeliverable,.etc ) there is always at least some clue, as to why. It just doesn't happen for no reason.
