dude, you can get the tab 2 for $160 without contract. Heck Sams has it for 180..

This might not be that bad of a deal if this is a 4G tablet that does not actually require a dataplan commitment. Are you sure it requires a 2-year contract ? I remember that they do offer contracts for tablets but they can be canceled at any time. I asked a rep in December what are the contract terms and he replied that they don't offer actual contracts/subsidies for tablets, they all can be canceled anytime. Then I asked if I can buy the tablet without a data plan and he said yes. You might want to check if that is still true.

Thanks OP, I appreciate this post a lot. I live in a rural area and the only reliable service is Verizon.

Per the website [verizonwireless.com], this particular deal requires a 2-year contract. The regularly priced Verizon tablets are sold on a non-contract basis, including a pre-owned (refurbed?) Tab 2 7.0 for $199.99.
