The triclimate is listed twice, one shows unavailable but the other has a black and black/red available.

I never understood why people like the Denali. The wind goes right through the fleece. They now have updated versions that offer down and windproof fleece. But, the fit of the Denali is so big and boxy. Don't get me wrong, I had a Denali. But, I passed it down to a family member. There are much better fleeces out here for similar price...even from North Face.

Good find though for those that want it.

BarryT82 02-13-2013 11:51 AM

I've worn the Denali before and my Koppen jacket is much warmer and windproof. I bought it at Dick's Sporting Goods for $30 on clearance.

Chris28House 02-13-2013 11:53 AM

Shipping is killing it for me. $9.95 :(

Hard to justify spending half of my gift card on shipping.

The difference between my NF flace and my run of the mill fleeces is night and day.

Maybe if you live in a "hot weather" city you wont need it. But in Wisconsin my little down NF fleece has saved my ass many times.

That's probably just your NF, as you mentioned. My $60 Helly Hansen beats the pants off my NF in cold weather.

Baby G 02-13-2013 01:08 PM

It is funny how every time I post North Face deals, people start talking how overpriced or bad materials about this brand. I love my North Face jackets because they keep me warm and they last a long long time without going out of style. Let's just leave it the way it is, you like it, you buy it. Don't make judgement for other people. If you don't like the North Face brand name, don't jump into the forum and start making negative comments about it. You can just skip this deal and go to the next one.

Happy Shopping!

Doremon 02-13-2013 01:08 PM

Triclimate always sold out dammit

:iagree: the denali is TNF's most famous but useless jacket ever. i have no idea why it costs so much.

i got mine (women's) for $60 and it was still too much to pay for it. i prefer their other fleeces better (i have a khumbu that i wear more than my denali - it fits better).

there is a windproof denali nowadays which would be a better choice. the apex bionic is a very good jacket (but it's not a fleece).

i just ordered 2 windwalls for DH for his birthday. i'll have him choose a color, tho i'm thinking he'll like both. i hope the sizing runs normal and not big like the denali.

flipg711 02-13-2013 01:23 PM

Amazing prices. I just spent half of my salary on North face items. Bought 2 pair of boots., Jacket , gloves etc

myselfdotcom 02-13-2013 01:29 PM

How it compared to Marmot? I really like Marmot stuff..light weight

Yup, HH is much warmer. But the HH has lower quality zip (which open up from bottom if you sit), the jacket is heavier than the Denali.

Both have use.

kcwhite 02-13-2013 01:35 PM

How is the price of Nuptse Quilted vest at $82?

Something that doesn't have a North face logo on it ?

Personally, I haven't considered their products rugged outdoor gear for quite a while. For the money you're better off with Mt Hardware, but even they have gone more for trendy style then substance. I just buy some of the more expensive Columbia stuff when it's 50% off. A lot cheaper then North Face and in many ways much more rugged.

If you're buying North Face to look good while conquering some urban mountain, then carry on. :lmao:

ClownBaby 02-13-2013 01:52 PM

Damn, no VE-25s.

A higher quality zip is worth more than $40?? That's must be a gold plated zip there!

soch also mentioned weight. For some people, the weight difference is really important. I'm not one of those people, mind you - but there are folks (backpackers/hikers) that literally count ounces.

Although I didn't weight it on a scale, my HH appears to be slightly lighter than the TNF.
I can't say that one a seriously heavier than the other.

However, my TNF Denali vest as definitely heavier than my Columbia vest.

hesshouse 02-13-2013 04:41 PM

I've spent the last 4 winters in a NF Denali, comfortable and warm, worth every penny. I have 4 or 5 off name fleece jackets. The Denali is the one I always go back to. I do hate how popular they are, but its comfortable and warm. The cheaper fleeces look like crap after you wash them, the wrist band elastics fall apart, stitching comes undone, and they are not as thick. You get what you pay for. I just bought a Denali WindPro from the REI deal 2 weeks ago for $99 shipped. I hope to get many years out of this new Denali. I did try a Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man this winter too, for me the jacket was too short and the arms were too long, it also looked like a womans jacket. I sent it back.

v0vax 02-13-2013 05:39 PM

I just returned my monkey man! Way too short but I loved it.

jbryden 02-13-2013 05:41 PM

Thank you, picked up a base camp duffel bag and some nike pants to get it to $100
