Bit. Screw pro tools.

joshownsyouall 02-13-2013 03:54 PM

I absolutely love acid pro and its a shame Sony cut their funding right before they got to release a 64 bit version. Sony acid pro is the Japanese pro tools and as we all know, the Japanese make some damn good products. Not sure what the difference is with this program and acid pro but I still recommend.

It's not the developers fault that Sony made bad choices all around and had to cut the music department. It's a damn shame

EDIT: it's basically a lighter version of acid pro. You can't do certain envelope editing and a few other things but for 14.99 you can't beat this. Absolutely great music making program

Pro Tools is a joke. Horrible pricing and a joke.

I use Vegas Platinum and VDJ.

Seem that you know about this software - What kind of genre of music can you make with this program? Rap/HipHop/Dance/House is one of them?

Comparison of the different versions:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.c...io/compare

The music studio 9 is one step up from the free version

Xerxes 02-14-2013 08:26 AM

And that's one step from the pro version. :p

NoBantheSnowman 02-14-2013 08:30 AM

i might try this, i use fl studio and ableton live.

nerdlez 02-14-2013 08:31 AM

I guess Logic is the only logical (pun not intended) choice for Mac owners. At least it gets great reviews.

bmedina 02-14-2013 08:40 AM

Cool was, looking for one to try out, been long time guitarist but never ventured into home recording, $15 cant beat it! thnk you!

ProtocolOH 02-14-2013 08:49 AM

This may only be tangentially related, but given the number of music-interested eyeballs viewing this thread, I thought I'd try...

I get that this software helps you to compose music tracks, but does it also allow you to compose an audio CD? Specifically, I would want the ability to:
  • Rip or import multiple uncompressed song files
  • Perform volume adjustment on individual songs
  • Perform fade-in/fade-out on individual songs
  • Burn a standard audio CD with multiple tracks (i.e. not a 70-minute 1-song audio CD)
Will this software allow me to do that? I've got a years-old (legit) copy of Cakewalk Pyro I've used in this capacity, and while it's a pain, it gets the job done. If Sony Acid won't do this, what software should I get for composing audio CDs?

EDIT: After reading the comparison chart [sonycreativesoftware.com] posted while I was writing my reply, it looks like it may do all of the above. Am I correct?

Unlimited tracks - it makes a difference. A drum set alone can take 6 of the 10 tracks in the free version.

Georgito 02-14-2013 09:08 AM

Is this windows 8 compatible?

Aquabat 02-14-2013 09:11 AM

Looks dead. New Egg auto-removes from cart "Sony MSAMS9000S has been removed from shopping cart due to quantity limitation/insufficient stock. Some combo items might be affected by this."

  • Rip or import multiple uncompressed song files - Yes [youtube.com]. I've always used other programs for ripping though.
  • Perform volume adjustment on individual songs - Yes
  • Perform fade-in/fade-out on individual songs - Yes
  • Burn a standard audio CD with multiple tracks (i.e. not a 70-minute 1-song audio CD) - Yes [sonycreativesoftware.com].

Yes. I make all those types of music withacid pro.however, like most music making programs, you are better off using your own sounds and instruments (virtual instruments or otherwise )

I regret not buying many copies of this software for friends
