DEAL IS DEAD......... "Coupon is not Valid "

Moondance 02-13-2013 05:56 PM

I don't see it for free, I see it for $34.95 (w/$5 off). I used the code and still, no luck.

georgedax 02-13-2013 06:07 PM

I just tried it again and the code worked....maybe there was a problem with the website...try it now

Char 02-13-2013 06:18 PM

never heard of it, but couldn't resist paying only shipping. in this case, shipping didn't kill the deal.
thanks!

mbnz230 02-13-2013 06:29 PM

i just checked out their website and there's no physical address for this brand, only a 800 number. i also checked out mars botanical and they only have a po box.

mpt 02-13-2013 06:38 PM

The coupon worked for me. It did not work first. After refreshing the page and clicking the View Cart, the total was $0.00

This is Mars, like the Mars candy company - it's a division of THAT Mars. So in other words legit. I've researched this product and the website in the past.

On another note, I had trouble with the code at first. I had to enter the code in the coupon code box and then press enter on the keyboard before it would take it. Hopefully this works out - thanks op!

girlbytes 02-13-2013 07:47 PM

In for 2! One under my name & one in my GF's! I've been wanting to try these for a while! (saw it on Dr. Oz) I got a citrus for my water bottle (sweetened with Splenda ie sucralose which is a bit better than Equal which I can't tolerate) & the unsweetened chocolate version for our smoothies! If it makes us feel a bit better & can help stave off the march of time, or at least improve quality of life much much later down the road, I'm def down for that! LOL Thanks OP! Coupon worked fine for me 2x! I didn't see anything prohibiting more than one per household! I made 2 separate accounts under 2 diff names with diff cc's so hopefully I should be fine! Has anybody tried ordering a 2nd flavor under the same account? Just curious...

*** Edit There's just one concern I have re this deal! FYI I noticed during checkout that you have to check a box agreeing to their terms etc & remembered reading something about auto-ship! Hopefully there is no trickery going on here where by ordering thru this special deal you're agreeing to terms which allow them to sneak in an auto enrollment into their monthly product subscription program???

Did anybody else notice this or am I just being paranoid? I'm going to check my account once this ships just to make sure that's NOT the case! I don't want a $80 surprise in 30 days! If I try it & like it, it seems Amazon's price thru their S&S is the way to go for just $32.29 a month NO SHIPPING vs their website's autoship deal! I am so stoked to be able try this for just $5.95! Great Deal OP! Thanks again!!!

Garvin 02-13-2013 07:59 PM

Has anybody used this stuff? Is it any good?

xxxHolic 02-13-2013 08:01 PM

Hopefully they won't charge full price.

Amazon reviews are mostly great! A few people had a problem with the use of an artificial sweetener & another found it bitter but I think if you use the unsweetened dark chocolate flavor as a "power up" to add to your morning coffee, daily mocha, smoothie or even in yoghurt etc you'll be fine!

Chocolate ie cocoa is known to be a super food & has many worthy health benefits! The only problem is that you'd have to eat A LOT of chocolate to reap those benefits so concentrated supplement forms such as this are the way to go! This particular product is owned by Mars Inc! They launched it way way back in 2003 as cocoavia then rebranded it & spun it off under CirkuHealth only to relaunch it & reclaim the cocoavia brand name in 2012! (per the Wikipedia link posted here)

Terms and Conditions:

Quote:

I am interested in using CocoaVia and understand that I should be 18 or older to order and take this product. This product contains soy. This product may contain peanut, wheat and egg.

➢ I am aware that letting my doctor know that I am taking a dietary supplement is as important and no different than what I would communicate to him on other health-related decisions.

➢ Satisfaction guaranteed. Receive a full refund of purchase price when product returned within 60 days of purchase. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.

➢ To cancel or make a change to your subscription, call customer service at 1-877-692-4758 or go to CocoaVia.com and go to “My Account” and make changes at least 3 days 72 hours, before next shipment goes out to have changes apply to that shipment. Otherwise, changes will apply to subsequent shipment.

➢ Mars Botanical™ reserves the right to change shipping and handling charges and product prices at any time. Mars Botanical will notify you via e-mail of any changes at least two weeks prior to the new charges taking effect.

➢ Amount of shipment charge will be put on “hold” (but not actually charged) on your account 48 hours before order is shipped out, to verify funds are available. If funds are available, your account will be charged when product is shipped.
It looks like they mention *how* to cancel your recurring subscription, but not necessarily that you are signing up for one.. The wording is a little bit presumable that you are signing up for one though..

Namelessme 02-13-2013 09:18 PM

Not that this is a bad deal (for close to free), but cocoavia may not be a great deal at normal prices -- and they appear to be a bit off with some of their facts.

I remember looking into polyphenol info on dark chocolates years ago, and even rather low level polyphenol bars still were at around 2% or so (like green and black). And a standard dark chocolate bar is 100 g. So 2% of 100 g = 2g of polyphenols per bar. So each square in a standard bar = 200mg polyphenols. Higher content cocoa may be up to 10% polyphenols. It is a lot cheaper (and tastier) to simply eat one little square daily than buy 30 packs of cocoavia at $30 a month.

I also notice they list 1.5 dark chocolate bars as being equivalent to one packet of cocoavia on the site. I have no idea how they came up with that number, as 1.5 bars is typically not 63 grams. I also guess they picked dutched bars to compare against with basically no polyphenols in them at all.

mickeytheking 02-13-2013 09:23 PM

I think the terms relate to renewals/auto-ship as there is also an autoship product that you can select when adding items to the cart.

topa 02-13-2013 09:55 PM

since when has Mars been the ''leaders in cocoa research''? $6 for 8.15oz total. if this were a great idea, wouldn't the health and supplement ppl be on it already? Campaign pushes Hershey's, Mars to either label GMOs or drop them http://www.foodnavigator-usa.com/...=copyright

This is an excellent deal but I am wary about the terms and conditions. They don't seem to be clear about whether regular shipments will be sent or not. Did I miss something maybe?

It depends what you buy. Theres an option for the 30 count box which is a one time deal and the 30 count box, auto-ship which comes every month. Its real hard to pick the wrong one. The one with the auto-ship says it in the title and in the picture of the product. If your still not sure just check your account and look under autoship orders and you can cancel the subscription if you selected the wrong one by accident

whatelse312 02-13-2013 10:42 PM

Auto-ship monthly is one of the purchase options. If you don't choose that option, there is no recurring shipment.

aliadam 02-14-2013 12:26 AM

This is another of those things that I bought not having any idea why except it's a "deal" and everyone else is buying it. Will be interesting to try though. Just hope it's not a recurring shipment and if it is that it's easy to cancel. We'll see.....

Fr33bieChick 02-14-2013 12:27 AM

In for two, thanks!

For those having a problem with the promo code:

When you enter it, do NOT fill in the info for the shipping quote, just enter the code and go to checkout. I entered my shipping stuff first to check and it wouldn't let me through. Tried opening in another browser, no shipping quote and it worked perfectly twice. Tried again for the hell of it, same browser with shipping quote, and it errored out.

If you didn't choose one of the auto-ship monthly product selections, you didn't get signed up for any subscription. That's the only thing the auto-ship line of their terms and conditions paragraph was referring to.
