Good price. Before Christmas, B&N ebay store was selling the refurbs in box for $89 with warranty.

I picked one up from B&N eBay store for $60 but it was 8GB.

Got a grade 6 with USB and charger for $75.

caychanh30 02-14-2013 01:56 AM

Picked up a grade 5 with ac adapter. Hope it's in good condition

armygreen 02-14-2013 04:47 AM

It's hit or miss with Cowboom. I got one without charger that was in great condition. Had no problem registering it at B&N and then putting Jellybean 4.2 on it (from iamafanof.wordpress.com). Others have found that prior owners failed to deregister the device and B&N refused to re-register without prior owner consent. (Cowboom had no way to track them down.) I've had to return other items to Cowboom but their RMA process is quick and easy.

a78134 02-14-2013 04:50 AM

warning..cowboom will not ship charger and make u to run behind them. .

Damocles 02-14-2013 05:30 AM

bear in mind the nook has a custom AC adapter, not a standard microUSB.

also, only a few 4s left.

I agree, CM10.1 (Jellybean 4.2) 10-point multi-touch on the NT in incredible! Users have also been amazed by the CM10.1 alpha that just came out for the Nook Color. Just wondering, STICKYBUMPS, what version were you running, and was it internal or on some microSD card with poor small-block random write speeds?

I thought my nook color was extremely slow with CyanogenMod10. I couldn't even watch Netflix. This was with the CM10 installed on EMMC. Plus the color had many charging issues.
I bought this nook tablet. Got a grade 5 with charger for $75. Hopefully it will be much snappier. Hell hopefully its a 16GB /w 1GB ram. I'll put CM10.1 on the tablet and see if it is more usable.

I have a feeling it is the class 2 SD card I am using. Everything seems a tad slow. I am going to root the tablet though as I have no need for the dual boot. Would you by any chance have the link to the root method not the SD card method? Thanks in advance guys. Also, I partitioned my SD card but the memory still is messed up.

just make a clockworkmod sd card and put CM10 in your root...no rooting is really needed

caychanh30 02-14-2013 09:02 AM

I've been trying to search for a cheap case for this nook tablet, but not getting good results on amazon or ebay. Any recommendations on a decent case for under $10?

I messed around with CM 7, CM 10 nightlies and MIUI, and I have to say MIUI works by far the best on my Nook Color (can't say for the Tablet but I assume theyre pretty similar). I threw on Nook Tweaks to OC to 1200 mHz and Seeder and it runs really well i must say. The only issue I had run into so far is Plex crashes on it (used to work on CM). If you track down some of the modded versions of Netflix and Hulu Plus they work great on it as well.

check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...p=12797652 for the root guide. Mine is installed on the internal memory. Once you get clockworkmod on there and you have android running on there I would highly recommend downloading rom manager from the play store, the app lists all the roms available for your device and you just select the one you want. If you get the pro version they give you the option to DL the CM nightlies which is nice but not necessary.

I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...07_s00_i00 it works pretty well although I had to glue the little flap that holds the nook in there to keep it from sliding out. Not a huge issue because I never need to take it out anyway.

Also for those concerned with the proprietary micro usb, regular micros do work they just charge slower (~8 hrs vs 2 hrs) I usually use wifi file transfers instead of usb anyway bc its easier to work with.

I’m running JB4.2 on my Nook’s internal SanDisk flash memory. It seems just as fast to run it on a SanDisk Ultra UHS-1 external card. The advantage of the internal memory is I can swap out microSD cards with different media files.
For testing purposes you can get a prebuilt JB 4.2 image from "iamafanof.wordpress.com". Just follow the instructions provided on that site. Later on, if you’re using a larger microSD card, you’ll probably want to increase the size of the “DATA” and “SDCARD” partitions. See: "Building a CM10.1 (JB 4.2.1) SD card for Nook Tablet: “http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...2098419”
Installing internally is pretty easy too. See: Installing CM10 Internally on Nook Tablet: “http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...2056626”. Just replace the references to CM10 with CM10.1 –the nightly image locations are slightly different but you should have no trouble finding them.
To fix your microSD card try the MiniTool wizard, or "sdformatter" (both free--links found at sites referenced above)

The "Verizon" cases are great for transporting your NT around--I'm not hesitant to toss mine on the car seat next to me. They're not the convenient "flip" style, but you can find them on sale for less than $3 with free shipping. (Got mine at Bensoutlet.com for $1 FS)

HetfieldJ 02-14-2013 10:20 AM

Battery is the only things that bothers me in pre owned tablets. Hard to trust the battery!

contraium 02-14-2013 10:37 AM

OOS Dead Deal.

Got my case & screen protector for $15 at amazon. Very happy. Do NOT get the cable combo. Nook uses special micro usb for "fast" charging.

How long does your nook battery last after full charge? Mine is about 4-5 hours at full brightness and web surfing & emails. Does that sound right?

Minmae 02-16-2013 03:39 AM

Excellent price. Comes and goes. If it works and isnt too badly scratched up then definitely worth 80 dollars (after putting in latest android). Usually cowboom sells for 95. This is suppose to be comparable to the kindle fire (2nd version).

I got mine yesterday and tried to put CM10.0 on SD card. I was successful and pretty impressed by the speed and performance. However I wanted to upgrade to CM10.1 on SD but it seems like flashing to internal memory so no NOOK OS anymore. It was fine but just regret not able to play around with NOOK OS. Several power down/up after.. the device can't be powered up anymore.....

Ooops... need to return it and can't find deals with similar price anymore..

Can I ask you a question? I bought three of these, one for me, my aunt, and niece. Well, I had no problem making an SD card with the 16GB Sandisk Class 4 Microsd card I purchased from Amazon. Everything worked perfectly. However, when I tried a 32GB Sandisk Microsd card Class 4 purchased from Staples the root didn't work, neither would a 32gb GSkill Class 10 Microsd Card.

I'm trying to figure out what 32gb card works with CM10. I was thinking about just purchasing two more 16 gb Sandisk cards from Amazon but I really would like to use a 32gb one.

FWIW I have read that class 6 iss supposed to be ideal for these tablets. Not sure why or if that is even accurate as I have not had any personal experience with it.

Received mine yesterday. It has the box, charger, and cable. It looks brand new to me.
Downloaded cm10 on a 16gb class 4 sd card. Working perfectly right now.
Bought a case from Staples for $5. The SD card was bought from newegg for $10 with a $5 rebate.

caychanh30 02-21-2013 02:56 PM

I received my grade 5 nook yesterday and it looked brand new. Used a kingston 16 gb class 4 card for cm10, works great. Which casr did u get from staples for $5?

Seems that site just has the Roms. Is there a really easy to follow guide?

I've looked at guides on XDA and there is so much involved and links to other pages with more links to more pages. It seems like going round in circles.

domoblur 02-21-2013 09:54 PM

I just got mine today and it appears to be the BNTV250A. A indicates it is the 8GB version. Without the A indicates it is the 16GB version. I'm debating on whether to return or not.

Also the microUSB end that plugs into the tablet has been mangled so it is bent at like a 45 degree angle. After I got the pizza grease off the screen the tablet appears to be in mint condition.

1/2 the RAM and 1/2 the storage for the same price!

Ya that was a big selling point for the 16GB. CM10 is very sluggish without the 1GB ram.

if you have any input for me...

I have $100 budget and looking for used either in CL/cowboom/ebay... etc.,

My primary use is games from Android,
I would load the latest android as much as possible and play the games.
Camera is not a primary requirement..so Kindle and Nook also in the list...

Which one do u suggest...

Kindle/Nook color/Nook tablet /Touchpad/Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ....
