How to rack up 15 transactions/mo on my card

Hello,

My bank requires that my debit card have at least 15 transactions / month in order to not charge a fee for my account. Usually I don't use their card at merchants. What is the easiest way to get 15 transactions onto the card ?

I've thought about going through self checkout at the supermarket and put one item/recipt but that sounds like to much of a hassle.

Anyone out there has better suggestions ?
Any way to do something similar online with $0.01 amounts?

Thanks

I'd move to a bank with a free debit card or maybe drop it if you're not using it.

I use my debit card for pretty much everything I buy. I'd probably be at 15 in a few days. Cash is one of the dirtiest thing you touch every day.

Many banks offer free checking and online banking I use ING and got $75 for joining. I think they recently merged with capital one though. :(

Yes, I know, but I am pretty much required to keep this checking account due to other considerations.

BTW: Free $200 Chase checking coupon code -no direct deposit- for whoever suggests a good solution :D. They go for ~$6-$10 on eBay.

The $200 coupon code actually has a hidden bonus

Make sure the account has a minimum of $1500 to avoid monthly maintenance fee
So you might wonder what's the catch for the FREE $200 cash reward? It is that the account has to maintain at least $1500 balance, otherwise, there is a monthly fee. However, for the first 2 months of opening the account, you only need to have $100 in the account. So monthly fee won't kick in until the 3rd month if the balance is not up to $1500. The banker is kind enough and tell us that she could waive the fee if we won't have the money ready by the 3rd month.
So basically, you only need to put in $100 to open the account and keep that amount for the first 3 months.

By the way, the $200 cash gift from Chase won't be deposited to your account until 2 months after the account opening.

If you have T-Mobile or another cell phone carrier, log in, make multiple payments of $1 or so each. T-Mobile requires you to use a different amount each time, so I do a payment of $1.01, then a $1.02, etc... I did this for the ING bonus not too long ago (needed like 10-15 transactions to get the bonus) and it worked just fine,

I'm not sure if that is really a "catch" unless you don't have $1500 to spare :). You could be earning interest on those $1500 if you had them in a savings account but that would amount to $8 over the 6mo period that you are required to have the account open.
Anyway, you should receive the bonus in 10 business days after depositing $100 - not 2 mo ( this actually happened btw ).

If you link your Chase checking with another Chase account that has $1,500 that will also avoid a fee. I open 4 accounts a year for the bonuses which typically carry a 0 balance. I linked a small investment account I have with them and that covers my minimum.

Are you sure ? I knew about the possibility of linked accounts, but thought that that had a $5000 minimum ( average ... ). Here is what they say on their website :
- a $1,500 minimum daily balance in this account
- an average daily balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of qualifying linked deposits / investments .

I'm not sure what interest rate they offer but I'm guessing that it would be more viable to keep $1.500 with no interest in the checking account and $3.500 in a non-chase high interest account rather then keep $5000 in a chase savings account.
