I still haven't gotten around to playing this on PC but still contemplating picking this up for PS3 :)

I had this once already and I never beat it while I owned it from a DOTD or the @Gamer coupons. Maybe I'll have to pick this up before the weekend ends. Hopefully they have some of the special editions with bonus content left at my closest store for the same price.

Been waiting on this price for awhile. I personally won't wait any longer, since this game is likely to never ever go back to print given that THQ is dead.

Loved the first game. As others have stated, THQ is gone and this game may never be in print again. There certainly won't be a GOTY edition with all the DLC, at least not any time soon.

Really? Normally I'd wait for it to hit $10 before buying (having bought the first one for $10 and not opened it yet), but if they have stopped production it may never hit $10.

And will they stop selling it on XBLA as a download title because they went out of business (obviously it's too expensive there for anyone to buy)?

THQ is out of business so it's likely it is out of print. Still, there are plenty of copies out there and finding a used copy down the line shouldn't be hard.

Don't get the PC version. They completely messed up the port. Get the PS3 version.

Though I have Darksiders 1 (still in shrinkwrap) for the Xbox 360, I'll get the PS3 version of Darksiders 2 because the LensofTruth comparison review says the PS3 version is better than the Xbox 360 one in terms of textures, screen tearing, and performance.

I assume there's no reason to have both versions on the same console (i.e. being able to carry over saved games or upgrades between versions)?

Unfortunately store credits are not usable online, so I have to pick it up at the store. I was going to wait for $10 on this, but hearing the bankruptcy/OOP rumors is going to make me get it at $15.

I bought this for $30 on Black Friday and just started playing it this last weekend. So far, I'm hooked. It's not quite as good as the first so far imo, but still very fun. If you're a fan of dungeon crawlers with lot's of loot, you'll love it...tons of loot.

I'm satisfied with the $30 price tag...so $15 is a no-brainer. It's always my luck that when I finally start a game from my backlog, I see a great price for it within days of starting it.

Free shipping made me get it for $16 from BB, might take longer than Amazon but if I don't have to step inside BB even better.

This was I can play this (PC version wasen't that great but I could see this is a good game) and have MGR:R go down in price on Amazon.

Jumped on the PC bundle a few weeks ago. I was expecting something like God of War, but this is quite a bit different. Seems like a good story line, but I'm not wow'd by the gameplay.

Is there any bonus for finishing the first game? I am trying to decide if it will be worth my time to beat the first game again to replace the lost savefile.

So glad I have a gaming PC! Got this game in one of the bundles a few weeks back and paid like 7 bucks for this game and 5 more.

I dont think there is anything to connect your save files like Mass Effect, so going back and beating the first game wont matter.

I think the only benefit would be to refresh your memory about the game's mythology

Thq is out of business, but it is still being managed through bankruptcy (I forget the term right now) to help recoup the money that THQ owes to its creditors.

The rights to darksiders was not bought by anyone, so THQ's senior creditors own the rights to it, and they will do whatever they think will bring in some cash.

So technically there is nothing stopping them from making another production run or making it available to download on psn or xboxlive (if it isnt already), its just a matter of whether or not they believe it will bring in more cash and want to pursue it.

I ended up going to Target and PM'ing the Limited Edition to BB for $14.99 + Red Card discount. I guess the LE is a little more valuable as it comes with some DLC, and I read that the PS3 version plays better than the Xbox 360.

im pretty sure they wont the game jas already lost steam...initial sales were abysmal...if ur on the fence buy it now...cuz u kno places like gamestop is gonna charge market price n not retail price. they did that with me1...prototype one...sly cooper...although retail on those games r 20 i believe they charge 30 for used.

assumin you can even find it truly New at gamestop...cause they usually open the cases...and then it is luck of the draw...how well they have kept the disc...and manual...and there is no way to tell if stock is sealed vs. opened online...gosh...durn...gamestop...fxljdifoadjf...

I still have mine sealed from BF, I pad $30 for. It's the LE version. Is there anything that's worth the the extra, or should I try and return it?

Someone else asked that same question. AFAIK, the Limited Edition comes with extra DLC, but I have no idea how good or valuable that DLC is. I doubt the DLC is worth the extra $15. However, Target carries the Limited Edition so you have a shot at getting them to PM $14.99 unless they notice the "Limited Edition" difference.

If you go to a best buy B&M and find the limited edition of either game (ps3 or 360) it will ring up as the standard edition, so it's still $15.

For online orders I'm sure they will be shipping the standard edition, but it's the same sku in their system so who knows we could get lucky.

Note: there is a best buy exclusive limited edition that rings up at $44.99 I believe, but the regular limited edition rings up $14.99

got it at best buy yesterday and got the last LE verison :) lm happy was going to wait also for the GOTY but mostly there wont be one :(

Wanted PS3 LE since it plays better but couldn't find one so I got the last XBOX 360 LE instead. Maybe will check another store today for PS3 LE.

Found a PS3 LE also and maybe will keep both, dunno.

Bought this online 2-17-13 before BB opened,selected for pickup at store. Got off work and went over without checking email, first off checked the prices and there was no Limited edition in store, just 2 Best Buy editions that rang up as $49.99 and the regular at $14.99. So giving up on getting the LE I went to Customer service and they ran my ID and looked for it and said it was probably still in the back room.

I pointed out there were a few on the floor anyways, and that I needed PS3 version. CS guy came back with both of the Best buy limited edition ones and gave me one. Asked if there was some kind of deal of the day for this. I was just like uhh I dunno saw the sale online just selected in-store pickup. Signed my copy of receipt and ran out the door.

Thanks for finding this. I bought the first game on X360 as it's my preferred console and both versions were ranked equal. The second game ranked the PS3 much better in terms of gameplay, so I got the PS3 version. There was no way I could've predicted when buying the first game that the 2nd game not yet released would play better on the PS3 so I should get the first on the PS3 too. :-(

So I guess I'll have to forego those 2 enhancements as I'd rather have better gameplay. They sound nice but not critical to finishing the game. It's always sad when so many games are releases that do not have near-equal gameplay parity between the PS3 and X360.

Oh yes, as usual my Worst Buy was OOS of the LE copies. OOS is their middle name.

At Target, the UPC and DPCI for the "Limited Edition" is the same as the regular edition (which is of course correct since they're the same except the for the early release DLC).

Because of this, I successfully did a PM at Target, despite the Best Buy website erroneously showing the "Limited Edition" at $49.99. Ensure the rep scrolls down to find the $14.99 price. It is helpful to have an LE and regular copy so the rep can see the UPC and DPCI are all the same.

Yep, the deal is dead.

Lesson I've learned: unless something is in their weakly ad or you see a shelf sticker with a date range (in which case take a picture of the tag for proof), always assume the deal could die at any moment and get the deal ASAP. Worst Buy is notorious at changing or canceling deals without warning.
