Highly recommended if the idea of medieval combat sounds like fun. Getting a kill feels like a big success. A well matched duel can last a while with all the blocking and parrying.

This is a really great game, especially if you have friends you can play it with. :D It can get pretty crazy (and hilarious)! Bought it for $10 a while back, good deal!

Chivalry server with no gravity. The AI interprets the loss of gravity as falling to death. The results are hilarious.

Great concept, but I wish the execution was better. I played the free weekend and on my friend's steam account before for a few days, I really want to love this game. My conclusion is that even the lone TF2 medieval map [teamfortress.com] is better than this entire game. The physics are wonky and it will leave you wanting more out of the game (even when you are kicking ass). Even with it's faults it is probably worth the low entry fee at this point. Not for me though.

I would echo what others have said about it being a mixed bag. There is no single player however there is a practice area where they show you how to kill stuff with different weapons. I have not played it since the big patch last month. However for $10 dollars its worth a gamble if you want to try it.

Chivalry shouldn't be classified as "these types of games." Chivalry did not get ruined like Tribes did. Don't even compare the two. Ratchet and Clank is a good example of non-realistic shooting. Chivalry goes away from realism in the same direction and it's a great game.

Also, if you like serious/realistic battles, don't join a server with no gravity... even then it's still better than floaty tribes.

I kept trying to place an order for this but it wouldn't go through. I kept getting an "Order not complete" message when I get to the final step of the purchase. It did this for my Visa credit card and my paypal account. I asked my brother to try purchasing it on his account and he had the same problem and he got the message:
This sucks. Now I can't place an order and the sale will be over by the time this gets sorted out.

Edit: Just got it to work by using paypal and a direct link to my bank account. Maybe there's just a problem with visa on their site. Meh.

Played it for about 20 minutes last night. Didn't go into any online matches, just did some of the training. The graphics are kind of meh, but I like the gameplay and combat. It seems like it would be fun to go against other people online. I am going to try some matches online today. Certainly not complaining for $10.

I did pretty well on not spending during the winter steam sale so I guess I'll try this game out.
