I have the 500r in white and it's a great case. For this price it's a steal imo. I paid about $110 after mir. If you need a case for cheap this is it. Also it works great with the H100 and H100i AIO water coolers.

Only thing i would be concerned about is scratches and possibly bent parts. but for 50$ its worth checking out i guess o-o

damn, I purchased it at $91 dollars and just moved my system to it today!
Note to potential buyer:
no front esata, only 2x usb 3.0 and IEEE 1394 and audio/mic.
my side panel fan won't spin itself, probably defective and I googled and found there are a few cases with exact problem, they do allow RMA the side fan only.
the fan controller don't make any noticeable difference (in temp or noise) across different settings.
if you place a hdd at the bottom of the cage, make sure you have a straight SATA data and easy to bend power cable.

I've been using the black version of this case since Dec '11 and it rocks. I have 4x SSDs and 2x SATA HDs, with a Corsair 850HX power supply, and it functions as both my workstation at home, as well as my VMware test server.

I only have the fans which came with it installed and my i5 2500k stays around 30c under load.

Great case... did my first build in one a couple months ago - it's a dream come true for cable management.

i7-3770k, Noctua NH-D14 cooler, 4x HDDs + SSD, optical drive, card reader... and tons and tons of space remaining.

Idles around 30C and maxes around 50-55C with all cores at full load (OCed to 4.2 GHz).

Seemed like a pretty good deal if you could get it total with shipping for $45, but sadly, OOS. Guess I need to be faster.

I was able to order 2 of these units before they went out of stock. A while back, I was able to order a CoolerMaster HAF X refurb for around $100 from CM store. It arrived looking brand new and I am using it now [see pic].

I just hope these two Corsair Carbide 500R's arrive looking and performing somewhat similar to the deal I was able to land from CM store!

Oh, BTW, shipping for me on this Corsair Carbide 500R was only $9 per case. I live about 2 hours away from their company.

DAMNIT I was going to replace my stupid huge annoying 600T case... Probably could have bought the 500R and sold my 600T with $50 ahead.

I just watched the video at Newegg and discovered these Carbide 500R cases can accept either dual 120mm fans at the top OR, get this, it accepts the Corsair H100 radiator and fans perfectly up top!

does it have a 2.5" front bay for multi card reader?

Four 5.25” drive bays
Six 3.5” hard drive bays with 2.5” compatibility

If you look at the side picture and the front picture, you'll see openings for the four 5.25" bays b/c they're usually for DVD drives, etc. The six 3.5/2.5" hard drive locations are where two vents are supposed to be. So I'd say unless you can somehow get an adapter for a 5.25" to a 2.5", I'd say no.

Edit: Those two vents are for 120mm fans.

The difference in the grilles is far more obvious in the close-up photo than it is from a couple feet away, too. Perfect accessory for this case, as a 5.25" -> 3.5" adapter would just ruin the asthetics, in my opinion.

What do you think about the Cooler Master HAF 922 instead of this case?
