1 Year (52 Weeks) Orange County Register for $1 - New Subscription or Renewal

got a letter from OC Register with this promo

link: www.renewocr.com/promo11

$1 for daily delivery or Sunday only (your choice, both are $1 for a year)

Works on both new subscription and renewal

You made my coupon clipping wife's morning with this one. Now we have 3 papers hitting our driveway every Sunday morning.

I clicked Place Order and I got to a page that says:

Your request is being processed.

Is that all?

A heads up .... Was going to sign up , but decided to check the reqular price of a sub for the heck of it here : www.ocrsubscribe.com ; and I put in my area code (92584/Riverside county) and said it was not available for delivery in my area code . Funny how the op's link does not mention this at all when checking out and will let you order anyway . Not sure what to do at this point , even though it only for a mear $1

Also to mention this will AUTO RENEW after the year (unless you tell to cancel) , QUOTE :

Additional Information:
Offer valid for addressee only. Renewal must be pre-paid. After the 52-week promotional term, your subscription will automatically renew unless you notify us to stop delivery service. Rate includes applicable sales tax. Some restrictions apply.

At this point I think I'll use a pre-paid gift card that I will not have/own in a year that way they can not auto renew and just see what happens on the delivery thing .

pretty sure all orders will get cancelled, or at least mine will. I don't even live in CA.

not all, only those who are not in their delivery area will get canceled. I'm a current OC Register subscriber and this is a legit promo.

Perhaps it's Orange County only. If they won't hit Riverside, I doubt they'll hit anywhere in San Diego either, with exception of perhaps Oceanside.

edit - Perhaps it's only giving non-OC customers problems on daily issues. The Sunday makes it pretty far south.

I got this offer in the mail and threw it away. I had gotten a subscription from some slickdeal they had on this paper for 2 cents last year. It's generated so much freakin' garbage it wasn't even funny. Most times, they go straight into the recycling can. I'll be happy when it finally goes away.

That being said, it's a great deal for those who need it and would recommend to anyone who lives in the area.

Bravia 02-21-2013 10:26 PM

Did anyone that lives in Orange County that signed up for this start receiving their paper?

DealDialer 02-22-2013 07:34 AM

Delivery has not started as yet. ...........

emphasyze 02-24-2013 12:04 PM

No Delivery yet. Although there were portions of a Sunday paper all over the front yard. Hoping no one swipped mine. Frakkin neighbors.

Been over 2 weeks and still no paper. E-mailed customer service and they asked for a copy of the letter. Can you please upload a copy?

Thanks!

I have done a similar deal like this years ago. It takes awhile for it to process but they'll get to you eventually. Also, I had to look forward to them forgetting deliveries for weeks. I guess I can't complain because it was only $1.

Also, give them a fake phone number, because after this is over, they will call you for years to come to "renew and come back"....I know...

chickennn 03-23-2013 05:26 PM

I signed up for this 3 weeks ago (signed up for the $1 everyday deal) and just received an invoice saying that my last payment was $23.33 and my next service period amount is $30.24. Anyone else have this problem?
