Not sure, checked again and working for me.

EDIT: My bad. May be it was cashed on my computer. I fixed the links and they are working as expected.

discounteggroll 02-16-2013 10:56 AM

as an apple certified portable technician without GSX access, I thank you. The MBPr take-apart is the shortest one I have ever seen, and that's not good news

Of course , it let's the overqualified people have a look at what an Apple technician gets to see.

Thanks for posting! Interesting to see how Apple puts these together.

These are greats guides.... Thanks, OP. However, there's not much in here that is revealing.... I would have loved to get access to info on revealing hidden menus, etc.

I agree. With the videos to give you a general idea and these guides to really break it down, a user can be confident with some DIY.

Thanks OP!

+1. I don't know how people can stand working for the control-freak people leading this company.

Anyone else hear the story of the engineer who got fired for showing the original iPhone to someone three hours earlier than he was supposed to ... even though he was on the apple campus when he did it, and that "someone" was Steve Wozniak? Unbelievable.

You would rather work for company whose products are so crappy that no one is interested in anything they release. Or, one which announces vaporware so often that nobody believes anything they announce will ever make it into stores.

Sent from Slickdeals App for iPhone & iPod Touch.

D1337 02-16-2013 04:06 PM

Really? You can get these off Apple GSX, which costs like $100 to take their stupid test and gain access to. If i had known people would actually care and couldn't find these through google, I wouldve uploaded any requested ones.

Also if anyone else works in a repair shop and has seen the tech guide for an older Mac Pro, to replace the motherboard they tell you to CUT the sata cables and order new ones from apple..
the cables were like $10 and you were suppose to cut 2. Yeah. Dont get me started at how piss poor the guides can be at times.

krazyatom 02-16-2013 04:10 PM

not sure why this is good deal lol
It would be useful if it was iphone 5 technician guide, but not iphone 4 guide.

That's irrelevant.

This has to do with physical disassembly of the device, which the manufacturer obviously has more experience as they designed/made the device.

blah blah

Didn't you state that the prototype was displayed to Steve Wozniak on the Apple campus in your original post? All of those articles you linked stated that it was in the line to purchase the new ipad outside an Apple store. The picture of him holding it in one of the articles makes it look like it's at a mall, a very public place where multiple other people must have been waiting and could have seen the device as well.

Anyway, while it's unfortunate that the guy was terminated over breaking the rules, it's also not surprising. People get fired all the time for lying about coming in to work 15 minutes earlier than they actually do, stealing a couple bucks from the register every so often, etc etc. What it comes down to is that if a company (Apple or otherwise) has a clearly stated policy that "you will be terminated if you do Y" and you do Y, then don't be surprised if you get canned. I'm sure Samsung, or whoever made your mobile device has similar commandments with similar consequences, given the competitive nature of the market.

So things have to be complicated for the technically inclined to appreciate it? Shit I write scripts and programs and I can tell you it's far more work to make something that anyone can understand vs throw some shit together that only the "technically inclined" can understand.

Spend more time reading & less time writing.

By the way fanboy, I actually have an apple. We have 4 apple devices in my family of 4 -- including an iphone 4, that's why I'm even on this thread, doh. It's not about the hardware (which is good). I 'm not a holy crusader like you, I think (and judge) for myself, independent of any fanboy faction.

I think that is acceptable. If one is told not to do something then they should not. I work for such company and you are not only fired but sent to jail also for a long time and if you were in some other countries then your sisters, mother and others will be raped. It is important that once in while being a robot is the only thing asked in job. 15 minutes early can take away close to millions of eyeballs to another site which can translate to huge business.

Same here.

Some Chinese students come to the USA and do their PhDs. Some of those same Chinese people buy iPhones.

Same Chinese students are working on Time Warp.

Yeah, Steve Wozniak has a business that competes with Apple. And he's gonna crank out an iPad competitor in three hours. Okie dokie.

You do know who Steve Wozniak is, don't you?

p.s. I always love the "it's OK if the behavior is awful, as long as there at least someone, somewhere that is worse" argument. Let's all race to the bottom together, shall we?

That's irrelevant.

This has to do with physical disassembly of the device, which the manufacturer obviously has more experience as they designed/made the device.

you are absolutely right - its almost silly i did not think of that differentiation myself!

Is there a technician guide for IPAD1, 2, 3, and 4? 4.2, 4.3, 5... infinity and beyond?

karlm 02-18-2013 02:05 PM

Thanks for sharing OP. Any 'inside' details one can obtain from a company like Apple is always useful.

Much appreciated..
