I used to would have given this a TD as I would want at least a HD 6670 for $40 - but compared to other recent deals it's not that bad with the HD 7750 going for $70 w/rebates it's a tossup which is a better purchase. I would normally say wait for a better deal but they've been scarce since Xmas.

Yup, GPU deals have been pretty crappy lately, maybe due to both AMD and NVIDIA delays to their next gen cards.

64-bit DDR3 for $34.99? Ouch.

Yeah, I know. As I said, I would normally give this a TD, but all the recent deals have been crap.

Although I am a huge XFX fan, I did not hesitate to give this card a thumbs down. Horrific performance and horrific reviews.

My oh my, what is the world coming to?

Soar

The price had stuck in my head. Frys had one back in January for $70, and TD one for $77 - I just did a search. February has been absolutely dreadful for GPU deals.

And that, my friend, is why I never completely gave a TD to the 9600 GSO Deals at Tigerdirect - at $10 I granted they made a certain limited sense, for a narrow set of applications. If you have some stashed away, and are making a lower end gaming system now, you are the wise man. :O

This is a HTPC card. If you want bitstreaming audio (and your motherboard doesn't support it), buy this.

Graphics performance, probably not.
