Amazon [amazon.com] has the Anker® Astro3 10000mAh External Battery Pack for $49.99. It is $10 cheaper than the last time I checked.

It's been lower. Decent deal if you need one now though.

Your linked deal is for a different model, as noted here:

AFAIK, the OP's deal is priced as low as it has ever been. Although there has been at least one combo deal (with the Anker 3200) for $60 that, arguably, would have been a better deal.

interesting... 12v and 9v output, but the only 5v output is usb... however, with this $3 usb->rca adapter and a bit of ingenuity, you could hook up 5v to practically anything: http://www.amazon.com/GSI-RCA-To-...roduct_top

although, i suppose you could even cut the end off of a usb cable and use it as well.

thx for the post

You are talking about the Astro3E, which does not have the option to switch between 9V and 12V.

Although DS does often post the wrong models, I think in this case you may be wrong.
If you read the later comments, not only is it shown that the picture shown is for Astro3 and not Astro3E, there are people who received the product and noted that it indeed came with the 9V/12V switch, and a few that seemed to have verified (probably by calling) that it is Astro3 and not Astro3E.

Regardless, this is a decent deal if you need one. Not the best deal though.

The 9V/12V charging option adds a lot of value to this if you have equipment that charges at that rate. I have an 11,000mAh Incredicharge that cost me more than this and it's doesn't have that option. It's still a very good portable battery (the 0-99 charge indicator is nice) and I would recommend it, but if I didn't have one I'd probably get one of these.

I'm confused, which is more appropriate for charging iPod Touchs (older versions) and LG Chocolate cell phones - Astro 3 or Astro 3E????

I purchased this for $59 last week Amazon Prime but it included the white Slimtalk 3200mAh which currently sells for $21.99 on Amazon.

the 3E should be good enough for you. the 3 has a 9v/12v extra output that can charge a tablet pc (xoom) or some netbooks (asus 900a)

I stand corrected. Thanks! :bulb:
