THREAD Discussion

Adding the case fan to your order only adds ~$0.11 Shipping. :)

To Answer Common Questions:
1) TigerDirect operates on Eastern Standard Time... so it is okay to order now (no matter where in the US you are located). Your order invoice will show the correct date to qualify you for the both of the $35 rebates (02/17/13).

2) The Rebate Instructions and Rebate Registration Form are LIVE now:
Instruction Form [highspeedbackbone.net]
Registration Form [4myrebate.com]

NOTE: If you can't submit the rebate due to a "rebate can't be in the future" message, just change your timezone to EST and it will work.- Thanks satanslover!

3) The Rebate Limits for both items are:
Limit ONE (1) rebate per qualifying rebate offer, per person, billing address, company, or household ---> Yes, you can get 1 copy for each console on this rebate offer.

4) If you are not seeing "Econo Shipping"....

If your address is more than one line (for ex. apartments), please put your entire address in one line. TigerDirect's ordering system detects multi-line addresses as business addresses. Econo Shipping is only available to residential addresses.

NOTE: Everyone thinks this is valid for 2 rebates and that is not true. Read the fine print carefully and it states only 1 rebate allowed. --> Incorrect. Rebate is valid for 2 claims per household.

Does anyone has an easy way of converting the prepaid card to cash?

YaY...free money. I trust the OP's knowledge on TD MIRs too much to even read the fine print of the rebate form :D

They would probably only give you $5.75 (Acceptable condition) since the UPC will be missing.

Yes, order away. :)

Rebate is also live for online registration as well.

So, register for your rebate once it reaches midnight in your neck of the woods so TD can't try to play shenanigans and close online registration. :)

You can only trade it in as Acceptable since it'll be missing the UPC.

Send it in as disc only.

I typically send it in a jewel case and bubble wrap envelope to avoid damaging the disc.

LOL, not in CA it isn't. The stupid form thinks it's still the 16th, and will for another three hours.

Is that in their rules? Better to sell it yourself then.

Limit 1 rebate only, I guess that means only PS3 or Xbox? Both rebate PDFs are also identical...

No, it's limit 2 claims per household (1 per console) as I indicated in the OP.

So when you fill out the rebate, be sure to add 1 copy of the Xbox 360 and PS3 version.

Total Payout: $70.00

I see that the rebate form includes both items. Should I just do one rebate for two items? Or it is better of to do two rebates for each item.

I don't have experience with sending in a game without a UPC, but their guidelines for Good condition says the game must be included along with the original packaging and "all original elements." They go on to say typical elements for a game include the case, manual, and UPC.

Acceptable condition says that the UPC can be missing. Will probably end up being YMMV though.

CaptainSoul 02-16-2013 09:17 PM

Awesome, got one.

EeekDaGeek 02-16-2013 09:18 PM

Is it just me or will they only give you the amount you paid for the game "up to $35"

wquach 02-16-2013 09:18 PM

I just remembered that I've traded in games before as Acceptable with just the disc.

Done it with Batman Arkham Asylum for PS3.

I just put it in a jewel case and shipped it to them in an envelope. Got the credit.

You'll see it after you are able to register online.

Once you are able to select "02/17/13" as the date of purchase, on the next screen you will see where it allows you to add 1 per console.

Trust me, its maximum 1 per console. Don't try to get 2 of the same console.

The usual turnaround is one month except for holiday but recently I would say six weeks.

The correct procedure is ONE submission per rebate code regardless of the number of items on the rebate code. Put it all on one submission, one form and one envelope.

No, buy it now. You cannot submit the rebate for another 3 hours though.

Good this this is a rebate, otherwise people would be buying 40 of these things and it would turn into a "price mistake".

You're wrong. The date of the order is determined by TigerDirect and their computers are ET. It's perfectly ok to buy now, I've done it a million times. HI and AK excepted.

Yes, fill out one rebate registration form, attach both original UPCs to the form, 1 copy of the Invoice, sign it and date it, and mail it in.

Total Payout: $70.00

Total MM: ~$7.30, depending on S&H + taxes

nurrburt 02-16-2013 09:33 PM

Good luck for those bold enough to risk this. Tiger Direct is known for their terrible, shady service and they've ripped many people off with rebate scams in the past. This seems too good to be true. Save all of your documents and make sure you have proof before you go through with this.

sessizlik21 02-16-2013 09:33 PM

how do you add both items in the same registration form? Thanks,

prvn133t 02-16-2013 09:35 PM

So.. can I buy both xbox and ps3 version and qualify for rebate for both? and It's only 11:34PM for me am I still eligible if I make a purchase now?

rr423 02-16-2013 09:35 PM

killdiablo 02-16-2013 09:36 PM

It looks like you can only get free game, can't make money. Shipping fee. Amazon trade-in value bad.
Need wait 6-8 weeks. Pass, no need to waste time unless you like this game.

IMXELITE 02-16-2013 09:36 PM

I see the following:
. Limit One (1) rebate per qualifying rebate offer, per person, billing address, company, household and receipt/invoice/packing slip during the eligibility period, except were prohibited by law. Only one (1) rebate application per envelope.

That makes me nervous about purchasing two copies of the xbox game on the same receipt.

In the past? Yea I totally agree.

But I've done probably 10 rebates within the past 3 months with them and every single one has paid out on time, in fact a lot of them have been paid just a week or two after I mailed them out, even though they advertise 6-10 weeks of turn around time.

So they've definitely stepped their game up. But you advice is good too, definitely Rebates 101 is to make copies of everything.

I've done at least 12 rebates from TD in the last six months and gotten every single one of them without issue

Make it easier for yourself and just do one order. Also saves on S&H, and a stamp for the MIR.

One order, makes the rebate simpler becuase it asks for the order number and there is limited space in the field.

You must be stupid if you are not able to follow the simple rebate rules. I have done hundreds of Tiger Direct Rebates, and thousands in general. I can only recall once or twice where I did not get the rebate but it was my fault (no UPC and the other time was that I sent the rebate in 2 days late).

Yes, you can, but both order numbers in the field when you submit and include both invoices and UPCs

No, buy it now. You cannot submit the rebate for another 3 hours though.

Good this this is a rebate, otherwise people would be buying 40 of these things and it would turn into a "price mistake".

rebate is based on TD time which is east coast. I have ordered on the west coast numerous times this way and always gotten the rebate

LOL, these days they're good. They are fast and they have gone out of their way to approve my rebates.

No tax for me, shipping was $3.72, and I used 4% cashback (almost negates the shipping charge).

Yes, but the submission form looks at your computer's clock to verify the date, which causes the problem. Easily solved though.

I've got it, it's really very good. Good story, lots of action, feels a bit like wandering around in a film.

steven88 02-16-2013 09:48 PM

I went ahead and placed my order for one XBOX and one PS3. At the time I place my order, around 935AM PT, the PS3 version said "Available while supplies last"....so I'm hoping by Monday, they will ship my order. I love these money maker Tigerdirect deals

Tiger Direct MVP, you have come through once again!

I'm positive. I just had to do this exact same thing on a Kingwin Case Fan rebate and both of my rebates are currently approved.

As long as you don't exceed the maximum # of claims per item/per household, you're fine.

In this case, you are sending in one claim for the PS3 version and one claim for the Xbox 360 version.

The reason you have to send them in separate envelopes and fill out two registration forms is because you have 2 Invoice #'s and you're only allowed to add 1 Invoice # when filling out the registration form.

It's not a big deal, you're fine. :)

See the $100 in rebates for $40 purchase of software deal.

StriderH1ryu 02-16-2013 09:51 PM

Despite a lot of people doing this to resell it, the game is pretty good. I would be all over this deal if I didn't already completed this game. You can get it used around $15ish time to time. Great deal for anyone that hasn't played it yet. Little too much trouble for me to play it again or resell it for $7 - $10.

No, but I spoke to a supervisor who advised that. In my case she saw that Amazon order numbers were too large to fit and she put a note on my account to approve putting in two rebate submission in on the same code. She advised that the second would otherwise be rejected.

Just my experience, make of it what you will.

PS: rebates were approved.

runtalan 02-16-2013 09:56 PM

In for 1... I've had great experience with 3 different TD rebates. Took about 3-4 weeks to receive my rebate from the date I mailed all the documents in. Pretty painless though.

I agree. I've never had a rebate with TD but I've seen many people complain about not getting their rebates back from them. I have, however, personally had terrible TD customer service after they made fraudulent charges to my credit card and then tried to lie to me multiple times to try and weasel out of correcting it.

I'm sorry to hear that you were too stupid to submit rebates properly. :lmao:

If anyone is building a computer and wants a FAR case fan as well:

The Non-LED Case Fan rebate is still valid.

If you add 1 case fan to your cart with both video games, shipping is only ~$0.11 more.

Does anyone have their invoice from tigerdirect.com available yet? Mine is still blank.

When I made the order on TD I forgot to change my billing address to my new apartment. So the billing is the old address but the shipping address correct. I completed the 4myrebate form online and set my address to my new one. Will the Tigerdirect invoice show my old address for billing and 4myrebate will not approve the rebate since the 2 addresses are different?

The invoice is only generated after the order ships. You should ring them and get it changed, I'm pretty certain that billing address and shipping address must be the same for the rebate. You should do it before they ship.

It's generated at 5am on the morning after shipping. The billing and shipping address (for the order) do not need to match for the rebate, but you must have the rebate sent to the billing address.

Your Invoice will not generate until the day after the item is shipped.

Invoices typically become available around 3:30 AM CST the day following shipment.

As for your question regarding the billing address being different:
The address on your rebate application must match the billing address on the receipt, packing slip or invoice.

So, yes, that is a problem for the rebate.

I would recommend contacting TigerDirect tomorrow:
Their telephone # is: 1-800-800-8300

I believe their phone lines open at 8 AM EST. Tell them you need to change your billing address. If they can not help you, ask to speak with the credit card processing or order verification department.

Eldergias 02-16-2013 10:35 PM

I am a little confused here. Will they actually send a $35 gift card for each purchase? It says "up to" $35. So I figured it would only cover the cost of the game, $29.99, not tax or shipping. The rebate form doesn't say it covers shipping. Can someone actually confirm how the rebate works that has done this before?

That's not how it works. 1 rebate, 2 claims. It's incredible obvious that you can get both once you see the online form.

It says UP TO $35. So I'm assuming they will not give us the extra $5

I'll buy one. Anyone want to send one to NYC for $10 shipped?

Sent from Slickdeals App for iPhone & iPod Touch.

wilflare 02-16-2013 10:59 PM

would it work if i have a different shipping and billing address?
.. especially if my billing address and the address (the rebates are going to be shipped to) are going to be different?

Yes they will. TigerDirect has had Money Maker rebates in the past. The rebate value it says on your rebate registration form is what they pay.

If it says $70, you will be paid $70. They have never modified the rebate value in the past.

You can, you'll just have to pay double postage.

Fill out two rebate registration forms and mail them in separate envelopes. Make sure you put the right Invoice # for each rebate as well.

No biggie. :)

ugh so you place an order for 1 xbox and 1 ps3 on the same order then mail separate rebates in envelopes? too many damn responses and confusion... as long as its not like that one fiasco with the dragon bullshit ill buy in but need to be clear. I read too many comments to fark up my judgement for a saturday night..

No, that's if you accidentally place two orders. If you place a single order for both you can submit one form with both UPCs in one envelope.

No, that response was specific to his situation because he already placed two orders (one for each game).

If you place 1 order with 1 copy of the PS3 and 1 copy of the Xbox 360 version of the game, you will only have to complete 1 copy of the rebate registration form.

Just make sure you add both the PS3 and Xbox versions to the items you are claiming and the total payout will be $70.00.

You can mail the rebate registration form, signed and dated, along with both original UPC codes taped to the form, and a copy of the invoice in 1 envelope.

Make sure you send in the Invoice (found under your Order History the day after it ships), otherwise they might throw a fuss.

Different billing and shipping addresses are not a problem but you need to have the rebate sent to your billing address.

The regular ones almost always come just as fast. You can throw out that form and make a new one with basic service if you want.

Thanks OP. First time I've seen a FAR video game, and this is not some crap game either. Great find!

I don't understand why you would do that when you can get it for free. Just don't want the small hassle?

Thanks for the response from my earlier post

TDMVP3 = TigerDirect Main VicePresident and 3 is the number of GFs he had when he started the company a while back. If you have any problem with a rebate ran by TD or with any order you place with TD MSG him...He'll take care of you and most of the times if you are persistent, very persistent I might say, he'll ofer you a credit with TD. He might deny he is associated with TD, to avoid paying SD commission but look at his posting history. He knows of rebates or deals or sales way before TD is advertising them. More proof he's TD insider.... not even Selma is aware of all the deals TDMVP3 is posting in regards to TD.

Ty for helping with my previous TD orderTDMVP3 and Ty for the GC you sent my way

mirai 02-16-2013 11:13 PM

Audrin 02-16-2013 11:18 PM

Got a copy of both & the fan, total was $81.62 and total rebates are $79 (I got the fan as well).

Anyway, $2.62 for the two games and the fan is a hell of a deal even with the wait, but not sure what I did wrong on the moneymaker - was charged shipping & tax tho.

GBELKIN1 02-16-2013 11:19 PM

What hasn't been mentioned on this thread is that the rebate is an american express rewards card which you can't redeem for cash. I placed my order but I'll cancel it tomorrow as this isn't a deal to me. Being forced to take an american express rewards card with no option for cash isn't what I was looking for.

help1 02-16-2013 11:19 PM

I am REALLY mad at myself for buying this POS game last year

WiiMe 02-16-2013 11:19 PM

which version has better controller mechanism?? thanks

Once you get the card you can call AMEX and get a check. There's a thread or two in the rebates forum about this.
EDIT: This is the better thread.

He knows TD treat you wrong...he mentioned to me they'll never deny you any other rebate. MIR with no fear TD won't disappoint you again

cwing 02-16-2013 11:23 PM

Thanks OP. I'm in PST, but ordered both before they sell out! This is HOT! Order time on TigerDirect's website shows the correct date so hopefully will be all good.
