LG BP620 Smart 3D Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player

Comparable to Samsung BD-E5900 and a 2012 released model.

Decide.com gives the Sony S390 Smart/Wifi/no 3D an 87 ($50.00 for a refurb on Newegg the other day, just cancelled mine for this deal), and the LG BP620 Smart/WiFi/3D an 86.
I don't need 3D but I prefer Cowboom's return policy to that of Newegg's restrictions. That's the difference customer service makes.

Keep refreshing the page, Cowbooms inventory tracker is weird like that, usually the system will keep adding stock as time goes by. Showed OOS for me too, got one after refreshing for about 5 minutes.

People keep loading up on them in their carts. Keep refreshing, or if you have an auto-refresh extension set it and go about your business.

These deals are actually good all week, so you can keep checking as they restock. I was eyeing this anyway as it's on part with the Samsung BD-E5900. I had bought the Newegg S390 at $50.00 but this is a better deal, plus it has 3D. All are current models. I like that Cowboom has the 30 day return policy at their expense, while Newegg has an exchange only policy, so I just cancelled the Newegg order before it processed. In fact I got two of these, will either keep or flip the second it's such a good price. And my gift recipient will be thrilled, we both love Cowboom - she knew if she asked me for a gift off of there she'd get something sweet. :)

I was able to get the second BP620 within a minute of refreshing so keep at it!

BSoares 02-18-2013 03:03 AM

I have this player in my bedroom and it's pretty good, never had issues with it.

committed 02-18-2013 03:14 AM

amazon gives mixed reviews on it... x_X http://www.amazon.com/LG-BP620-Bl...ords=BP620

average score is a 3 1/2 stars out of 5

STEVESKI 02-18-2013 03:35 AM

I've never had to play the refresh game at Newegg so im not quite sure how you rank Cowbooms customer service over them.

RodShaft 02-18-2013 04:13 AM

2012 LG's do not support Amazon Instant, if that matters to you.

Yeah that's a deal breaker pretty much when you have prime.

Shogelash 02-18-2013 10:51 AM

I ordered a different refurb blu-ray player from Cowboom a couple weeks ago and it arrived with the case not correctly aligned, but force screwed on. It was obvious whomever refurbished it was in a hurry, no way it happened in transit. I was able to fix the problem with a screw driver. Player works, but give me a break Cowboom!

I mean in terms of return policy. Newegg had exchange only on the S390 $50.00 deal, you pay to send it back. Cowboom has 30 day RMA, they pay return shipping.

Quick question: Do you know if item is returned, does Cowboom return the original shipping cost or not? I think the item is something like $29 and shipping is $8. I wonder if it is returned, do we get full $37 gets returned?

SlickDealio 02-20-2013 05:12 AM

This is back in stock if anyone is interested in it.

Almost everyone on slickdeals knows about cowboom... A deal is a deal

mutha_scratcha 02-20-2013 08:35 AM

that was a quick OOS.

dmancan 02-20-2013 08:35 AM

40 bucks out the door

Hawk600 02-20-2013 08:36 AM

I got one form the last deal and they work ok.
The only problem is that Cowboom has jacked up the shipping fees and the last 2 players that I purchased did not arrive with remote besides it was listed in the description and these players do not work with most of the universal remotes.

You have never heard of Cowboom? They are the liquidators section of Best Buy. Used, refurbished. Great return policy. Ive gotten great deals from them, had to send one deal back - once again great return policy. Not sure where you have been since you joined less than a year ago but maybe look into it before knocking the deal?

Yes it takes 10 mins for carts to eempty if people are on the fence about buying this. People may release some!

Relo74 02-20-2013 08:41 AM

snagged one grade 6

scarletfire77 02-20-2013 08:42 AM

I have one in my cart, I'm not sure

zero_x3 02-20-2013 08:45 AM

I had one in my cart while reading reviews. Once I saw the OOS post I went ahead and purchased it. Looks good for a spare bedroom

2slick4ya 02-20-2013 08:48 AM

In for 1 this is the second one for us the first one works great.

For those of you that missed it on the second time round, just keep checking back periodically. I missed it the first time but after a couple of days, as evidenced by the posts here, it did come back in stock. I believe the price is good for a few more days. Cheers!

Best Buy owns them. Cowboom is well known on SD and check out their reseller.com ratings: high marks and great customer service. Excellent return policy on their dime if you aren't satisfied in 30 days.

Baguda 02-21-2013 05:27 AM

I've never bought from Cowboom before...

If we buy a refurbished unit that says the remote will be included, can we trust that to be true? If it isn't included, what will Cowboom do about it? Send us a remote or will they say they don't have any spare remotes so our only choice is for us to pay $10-$15 out of pocket to ship it back for a refund (minus the $8 shipping fee they charged)?

Also, nobody mentioned if it's worth paying the extra $5 for a 1 year warranty (or more for longer), so I assume it's not. Unfortunately when the product is OOS, I can't see any option to read any details about how the warranties work (assuming they even have that info available).

damnthatsadeal 02-21-2013 12:22 PM

Ugh kicking myself cuz I bought the BP200 last month.

By my experience, the description is 50% accurate :) , 2 out of 4 players I got arrived without the remote. They normally cannot ship the remote and they offer either a $6 credit or a return label.

By the way :) one of the LG players I ordered arrived wiht a Samsung 5900 remote LOL.
I am using my Harmony 880 to control it otherwise the player becomes useless as I cannot find the code to use a cheapo universal remote.

MephistoMyHero 02-21-2013 01:05 PM

Refreshed the page literally 100 times...looks like it is really OOS now.

Was this with refurbished units or pre-owned one? I heard refurbished one are normally ok.

Hawk600 02-21-2013 06:22 PM

It was a pre-owned unit.

sksp 02-27-2013 06:51 PM

I got my unit today and WiFi is not working. Anyone else got this and have the WiFi issue?

Hawk600 02-28-2013 06:33 PM

I got two in different ocasions and they are fine.

I have the WiFi option but it cannot connect to it. I even tried open network. Seems like WiFi is broken.

I called them and they asked me to RMA the unit. Anyone has the experience with RMA and do they return the full price including shipping?

I purchased one a few months back on a similar deal and it arrived with a bad wifi. They were able to find a replacement and paid for return shipping of the defective one. They will give you the option of replacement or return assuming they can locate a replacement. Their customer service is typically very good so I'm pretty sure they will refund your original shipping cost and pay for return shipping if you just want your money back.

Fwiw...the replacement unit I received did work fine...
