Nice find, OP.

jcscott16 02-19-2013 08:58 AM

FWIW, game trade-in on Amazon is $8

dragonre 02-19-2013 08:58 AM

If I needed another controller this would be awesome. Regardless, great find. Repped!

carlydew 02-19-2013 09:02 AM

Red Controller:

White Controller:

Frogstar 02-19-2013 09:04 AM

Too bad I can't get the remote with the other game, then I'd be all over it.

ilovedonuts 02-19-2013 09:04 AM

heads up on the ps3 controller. If it's the same one I remember looking into a while back it can control the ps3, most tvs and ONLY sony audio recievers. There's a link to the instruction manual on amazon's product page but the picture is shrunken and you can't make out any of the text.

TheLounge 02-19-2013 09:09 AM

I love the review on singstar =P

Bargain_Shopper 02-19-2013 09:21 AM

One of my PS3 Dual Shock 3 controllers is being wonky lately with random keypresses that make using it incredibly frustrating, so a replacement would be good. I would think that the prices for the DS3s come down after PS4 is released?

spydersdeals69 02-19-2013 09:26 AM

Considering all the BB deals for $40 on controllers + a game lately, this is lukewarm at best. Not that Lollipop is a bad game, and certainly not as bad as some made it out to be, but it's old as hell and has virtually no replay value. Rather have the Twisted Metal with white controller, Infamous/controller, or Killzone Trilogy, despite the fact that the last of those deals had a fugly camo controller.

Still, I suppose this is decent for those dying to play Chansaw. Efforts appreciated by the OP regardless.

It came out less than a year ago? :scratchh:

Wow. I guess it hasn't been that long then. Seems like I played this long before that, since it's a decent (yet forgettable) game. Anything out for over 6 months and found regularly at local shops for around $10 is something I consider to be" old." I suppose playing 40-50 games a year will do that to one's perspective though.

the urban camo is the ugliest ps3 controller.

the two tone green is the best.

Raj 02-19-2013 11:41 AM

The PS3 Blu-ray controller is pretty nice. Better than any of the other games system controllers. Lots of good features like skip 15-sec forward and backward. Much better than fumbling around with a PS3 controller. My biggest complaints are that is doesn't control much else than your tv (for being a "universal" controller) and no backlight. But definitely worth getting if you use your PS3 for movies and such. I don't use it for blu-ray, but it's great for viewing movies on my network thru UPnP.

aznchris99 02-19-2013 11:42 AM

Nice!!

Birls 02-19-2013 12:05 PM

Good deal on the DS3/LPC, but the remote control is not a good deal at all. I got the Sony Blu-Ray remote for $10 a year ago on newegg and it has been that price multiple times. I guess there is always a chance it is a newer model, but it doesn't state any specs that mine does not do and mine looks exactly the same (not at home so I can't cross check model #). So unless Singstar is worth $12 to you I would just wait for the deal to come around again.

FreeeStufffer 02-19-2013 12:10 PM

amazon gold box sounds better but l dont need another hdmi but still a good deal got 50min to deside
http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox

camo is the best :)

Name some local stores where we can find it regularly at $10. I would like to pick up a copy.

That about sums it up right there!

I was thinking the camo was the fugliest, but compared to the hideous gold, it's beautiful! Traded a gold one I got brand new for $8 for a white one about a year ago. I'd pushed that memory to the back of my mind until you brought that gawd-awful thing up. Sad now, thinking about how that poor sap must have felt down the line...probably similar to those with gold rims on their cars, fake gold chains around their necks, or gold teeth.

drhodes4 02-19-2013 12:39 PM

Not too bad if you are in need especially with the included game. The newer bundles of "controller plus game" make this less of a deal though in my opinion. Although some of the games are dated, the "controller plus game" combo is decently priced.

Small businesses owned by acquiantences in my neighborhood, not large, national retail chains.

lol we can go on and on about the most beautifull controller in the world camo and gold :) goes prefect with the camo bluetooth l still need to get

Will this work as a remote for an android device?

Using the sixaxis app:

https://play.google.com/store/app...ller&hl=en

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but I've never used the app before so wanted to make sure before considering the purchase.

Thanks!

Yes it will, but ONLY if you root your phone.

I don't know what Lollipop Chainsaw you are talking about, but the one I played had tons of unlockables and collectables, special enemies and collectables that were only found on harder difficulties, and a great scoring system that encouraged replays of levels to place higher in the leader boards.
It had an old-school replayability that is absent in a lot of games nowadays, actual unlockables rather than DLC. Maybe 10 years ago it wouldn't have seemed like much, by going off of what the current gaming climate looks like, it is a lot.

Zeke Reisen 02-19-2013 02:06 PM

I just sent this remote control back to Amazon because it would not sync with my PS3 for some reason. I followed the instructions properly and swapped in fresh batteries but it just would not pair. Maybe I got a dud or my CFW disagreed with it, but I never had any problems with other blu-ray devices.

That's why I said, "virtually." While others might not have the cash or desire for more than one game, I personally find no joy in farming the same entire single-player camaign again and again and again, just to unlock something. Sure, you can replay it, bit it's the same thing. When I think of "replayability," I think of truly epic games like Bioshock, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Uncharted, etc...or perhaps a multiplayer game where the play changes depending on mode, enemy skill, etc. Life is too short to waste on replaying mediocre games like this just to unlock a new costume!

thikthird 02-19-2013 02:47 PM

i ended up going for the amazon deal. my desire for lcs is that low, i suppose.

Your choices are shooter, shooter, rpg shooter, shooter, and more shooters. No wonder we have Call of Duty 100 now. ;) Lollipop Chainsaw might not be the best hack n slash game but it certainly is somewhat original. We need developers to create more original games instead of milking the same genre over and over again. That said, I do like the Uncharted series. For some reason, it just has the right feel for me. Generally, I don't like slow turtle speed modern shooters. I came from the Doom/Quake days and I prefer the frantic action that the old shooters offered than what is available now.

shimmyshimmin 02-19-2013 04:52 PM

TU, in for a bluray remote.

Gotta say, I don't know what you guys are talking about in reference to Lollipop Chainsaw. I picked it up a while back and I had to force myself through most of it. The genre is one of my favorites(Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Dante's Inferno, God of War), I just couldn't find any fun in this one. Up until the PS3 came out, my gaming system was mainly an N64 lol. Now I have PS3 & Xbox 360, but playing this took me back to the N64 days. Not in quality of game, but mostly in the quality of maps. To me it looked like a map straight out of Tony Hawk.

Maybe it's just not for me, but I'd wait for controller deal with Uncharted or God of War. Same price and a guaranteed better game IMO. That said, still a good enough deal.

On another note, what are the chances this BD remote will work with the PS4, in case it does come out soon?

I would think it wouldn't be a problem with PS4 being that it is just a bluetooth universal remote. However, being that Sony has said PS4 will not have any sort of backwards compatibility, I would just prepare yourself that it doesn't and then if it does, surprise! haha

chochocho3 02-19-2013 09:11 PM

lol its funny because i was about to purchase a second ps3 controller and i keep joking to my friends that i want lollipop chainsaw.. well.. i guess ill have to jump on this deal.

I had two controllers that suffered from random button presses and looked a video up on youtube of how to take them apart and fix it (add a small piece of electrical tape). Before you drop $40 on a new controller I'd suggest at least trying the fix.

auxiliary 02-20-2013 05:45 AM

i think this price is either going to be more common, or will go down more with the new PS4 being announce soon.

And if you don't ship it my way and I'll play with it. Just want one to use with an UHost 2 android TV stick. Don't even have a PS3 lol.

FranksAndBeans 02-21-2013 07:51 AM

The camo one is the only one that has some texture to it, a bit of a matte finish whereas the rest of them are smooth / glossy. I think it makes it much less slippery and cooler to the touch.

The looks are one thing but I definitely prefer it from an ergonomics standpoint.
