What stat bonuses or special effects do these have?

+2 cool for non-gold rings

-5 cool, +2 douche, +3 nerd for ones with Lord of the Rings engravings

senator2001 02-20-2013 08:47 AM

anyone order these before? I'm curious how thick they are (not width) since I have a similar one to the silver with black carbon fiber ring and it's pretty thick so I'm looking for a thinner one

My light tungsten ring saved my life. I was out camping in the wilderness and I came across a Bobcat. The bobcat attacked me, tearing my flesh from my bones for a time. Once it came to my light tungsten ring, the hardness of the ring chipped it's tooth, giving the beast a terrible toothache. It no longer felt like eating and walked back into the forest, leaving me to my amazement that a $15 ring could hold such magical powers.

The one with the dragon inlay comes with elemental resistance. It usually cost around 10,000 gold, so it's a pretty good deal here for $15.

Wish I knew my ring size...

And FYI - Amazon has relatively similar prices and a larger selection:

Try this link. I measured a finger and used a ring that I have. I lost my wedding ring on a recent snowboarding outing but was able to find one that looks exactly like it on your amazon link. Tell the wife that I found it and all the sentimental value is still there. BI-WINNING!

They are pretty thick. I got a plain one before and it was actually thick enough to be a little uncomfortable.

A word of warning, I purchased the one with a carbon fiber inlay, and the carbon fiber part came detached less than six months after purchase. Otherwise, the ring felt great, so I was a bit disappointed when it fell apart. Bought a couple without the inlays this time around.

yyAjax 02-20-2013 10:07 PM

I thought last time these were 5...

Tarquinn 02-20-2013 10:30 PM

Rings seem to be decent quality but there size chart thing that you print is way off. I ordered last month when they had buy one get one and according to there chart I was size 12 or 11.5. Both rings were way to loose so I am now gonna get a 10.5.

Anyways when you lose your wedding ring its best to get a replacement before your wife finds out!

dcobb 02-20-2013 10:32 PM

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness....

Oh wait a minute, these are just cheap ass rings, that spell will never work <sigh>, never mind.

mvdafvka 02-20-2013 11:41 PM

Can these be infused in the mystic forge?

Jessiec09 02-21-2013 05:26 AM

We went thru 2 Tungsten rings bc they are indestructable. But my firefighter friend told us of 2 separate stories where these guys broke their finger and ended up being either "degloved" or one guy had his finger amputated bc they could not pull the ring off the finger.

So after hearing that, hubby is using an other ring for his wedding band. Just a lil warning which probably is super rare

kmoff77 02-21-2013 05:47 AM

Are these wedding rings? Or do men actually wear any ring other then a wedding ring?

That is actually a myth. They can easily be taken off with a pair of household vice grips. It's almost easier than a gold ring. http://youtu.be/poM423pewRE

I bought one as my wedding ring. Never have to worry about damaging it as the only thing that can scratch it is a diamond.

I would honestly suggest buying from Amazon instead of Tanga. The only reason I say this is I bought one a few months ago from Tanga and it's a size too big. Needless to say, Tanga's customer service is lacking compared to Amazon and the ring is still in the package in my desk.

Amazon's prices are just as competitive as well.

You can find most of these rings for 8-10 bucks on eBay. Most of them are sent from China, Hong Kong or Singapore though so they may take around 2 weeks to arrive.

You should change your story to mountain lion. Much more manly than getting your ass kicked by the bob cat.

dragonre 02-21-2013 02:26 PM

In for one, I'll give it a go.

You didn't see the size of this bobcat. Besides, how manly do you really think I am walking around with a LOTR Tungsten ring on?

Yes but the platings do come off very easily. Anything except natural color will fade, chip, or pit after awhile.

In my case, I got mine for maybe 3 months, gold colored 4mm and there is now a chip where the gold came off and is now grey, and the whole inside of the ring is filled with grey pits. Apparently skin fluids dissolve the plating or something.

The ring is only as durable as it's weakest material. In this case that will be the plating.

It's hard to imagine a $15 ring wouldn't hold up...

Couldn't disagree with that more than I do. If you're talking about like yellow gold plating then maybe. Can't confirm that but silver/white gold look and graphite/black is like indestructible.

Bleh these contain cobalt. Silly me for thinking these are actually cobalt-free ones that are marked down :shake:
