Denon AVR 2113CI 7.1 Channel Networked Audio Receiver for DEAD at Paul's TV w/ FS and no tax

3 Attachment(s)
Deal is dead, now the code is REC20 for 20% off

Paul's TV has 25% off Denon A/V receivers [paulstv.com] until Feb 21, 8PM Pacific (or while supplies last) with coupon code REC25

Free shipping, and also no sales tax in states where they have a store (CA, CO, MI, MA, and RI)

Denon AVR 2113CI [paulstv.com]: $649.99 - 25% REC25 code = $487.49

This is new with 3 year warranty from an authorized retailer at a price pretty close to the refurbished price [accessories4less.com] of $449.99 with only 1 year warranty.
  • Audyssey MultEQ XT + Dynamic EQ + Dynamic Volume
  • Video scaling up to 4k resolution
  • Networked supporting AirPlay, DLNA, Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, Flickr, and internet radio streams
  • 3 year warranty

There is 1 other unauthorized retailer (Rakuten/HookedOnTronics [rakuten.com]) with a similar price of $489.90 (except in CA for Rakuten and FL for HookedOnTronics) but with only 1 year warranty from HookedOnTronics. Other unauthorized retailers seem to be about $50 more according to Google shopping.

They also have Denon AVR 2313CI [paulstv.com] for $674.99, Denon AVR 1913 [paulstv.com] for $434.99, and Denon AVR 1513 [paulstv.com] for $187.49. The 2313CI and 1913 are around the price of many unauthorized retailers, and the 1513 is just too expensive for such a barebone receiver.

Beware buying from unauthorized retailers [denon.com], Denon can deny your warranty claim if you purchased from them:

Quote:

We cannot guarantee the handling, condition or authenticity of products purchased from unauthorized retailers and offer no warranty or product support for equipment purchased from unauthorized sources
Paul's TV is listed as an authorized retailer.

Yup, I ordered in CA and wasn't charged tax. I'm assuming they wouldn't charge it on other states as well.

FYI, Rakuten (formerly buy.com) has this for $489 F/S no tax as well. Sold by HookedonTronics.

Seems to have tax in CA through rakuten.com or FL through hookedontronics.com. But I will update the OP to remove the $50 cheaper than unauthorized retailers.

From what I've read, its worth $50 to go the the 2113ci. I think it's also a 3 years warranty vs 2 years on 1913.

Yup, 2113CI gets MultEQ XT instead of MultEQ, 3 years warranty instead of 2, and 4k upconvert/passthrough instead of 1080p. If you live near a Fry's, they seem to have the 1913 on sale quite often for $300 - $350, it may be worth the ~$100-160 savings. But for the $52.50 savings from Paul's TV, the 2113CI seems to be much more bang for the buck.

Amazon checkout tried to charge me tax in CA so I used the normal checkout to bypass tax.

pickthenimp 02-20-2013 07:36 PM

Great deal, picked one up. No tax in IL Many thanks.

Got a Denon 2312ci (open box) for $311 from BB few weeks ago.

RamakataO 02-20-2013 08:08 PM

I will wait for 2114 since is promised to have video streaming support as well

With full accessories?

broadwayblue 02-20-2013 08:32 PM

How does this stack up to the comparable model in the Yamaha Aventage line? Say the RX-A820?

schizoid 02-20-2013 08:53 PM

No higher end stuff (i.e. 3 or 4 series? =[ ).

Also, for those of you interested, I'm not sure if the 13 line has HDMI 2.0 support (or if it's even been finalized yet) but that's coming soon.

slicksder 02-20-2013 09:00 PM

I am tempted by this, but I think I will hold off. The most common slickdeal on the 2112ci was the $450 "must call in" deal at Electronics Expo. One time it was $400-ish (or less with Upromise):

http://slickdeals.net/f/4362218-Denon-AVR-2112CI-Receiver-EE-403-98-shipped-383-78-w-Upromise

And for those chiming in to brag about their BestBuy clearance and open box purchases of the 2112ci, what you may not realize is that zone 1 and zone 2 are not entirely independent:

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1331343...t_20713708

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1331343...t_20543798

Airplay was also crippled in other ways and the implementation just wasn't as good as Pioneer. Hence the reason I held out on the BestBuy 2112ci clearance madness for the 2113ci which fixes the zone 1/zone 2 independence and corrects the airplay issues.

If I can get about $30 more in rewards from BestBuy facebook polls, I might just do a pricematch and dump all of my rewards so I don't have to wait for the prices to drop on the 2113ci. Tax is a real killer for a BestBuy pricematch at these steep prices.

I think the 2113CI is more in line with the A720 (1 HDMI out), and the 2313CI with the A820 (2 HDMI out). One thing I like about the Yamaha's is the extra sub, especially if you wanted to do a 2.1 with powered zone 2. One thing I didn't like about the Yamaha's is that it only sends 480i from component to HDMI (easily fixed by a $20 HDMI adapter for my Wii).

I've actually been looking for a price drop on the 2113CI or the V673 (similar to the A720 except it has been as cheap as $400) after my 1913 from Fry's ended up being a return (even though the box looked like new, the inside looked like someone had unpacked and repacked it).

Seems like more people prefer Audyssey instead of YPAO, but I cannot comment on the validity of that.

Mysticman 02-20-2013 09:42 PM

Fry's had the Denon AVR-1913 which only retails for $70 less than the Denon AVR-2113CI on sale for $328 a few weeks ago.

So, does the 2113 fix these issues that I see on my 2112?

- When you send audio to the 2112 while it's in standby, it will wake up, but not play any audio. To get it to work, you have to send the audio somewhere else (such as back to the device) and then back to the 2112.

- The audio will cut out for a second or two randomly.

My 2112CI doesn't have any of those issues, I'd contact Denon.

Anyone thinking about it, I've been VERY happy with my Denon and I paid 600ish for mine.

Bought this AVR (2113 CI) from Amazon Warehouse, meaning open box, for around $480.00. I really like it. I stream music from my computer and that's pretty trick. I haven't tried Airplay, which I know a lot of people are interested in. It might just be me, but I found the AudysseyEQ a little over rated. I still had to do a lot of manual tweaking to get the sound the way I wanted. I guess it's entirely possible I just didn't do it right? But overall, a pretty killer setup. Thats my $.02.

patnshan 02-21-2013 04:40 AM

I've had this receiver since it came out. It's fantastic, the airplay and Internet radio (pandora, spotify, etc.) work flawlessly. The UI is great too. There is an app from Denon and another aftermarket app that can be used to control it. Great for controlling zone 2 from the patio.

I got 2313CI from BHPhotoVideo during thanksgiving for around $670, and the price for this almost never went below $899 anywhere else. Had to call them to negotiate though.
A very good deal for those on the line for any Denon receiver from an authorized seller.

cbiggers 02-21-2013 06:11 AM

I got the 2113 from Pauls earlier this week. It should be here friday with my new Definitive Technology speakers i got from Amazon when they had their awesome promo.

I tried googling for AVR-2114 but didn't find anything. Where did you see that 2114 would support video streaming? I assume this would mean I can stream a video on my iphone or ipad though the receiver?
Thanks

I agree. I tried to google also and couldn't find anything. It would have to have alot of new features though for me to change from the 2113 I just bought.

That's an excellent price. I had to pay $25 for mic. Is it worth to pickup 4311ci for $750?

cbiggers 02-22-2013 11:10 AM

My 2313 just arrived cant wait to get home and play!
