:O just in time! got one!

bansh77 02-21-2013 03:35 AM

I really wish Amazon would throw us a bone on this one...I have to hold out because of gift cards, already splurged on another Newegg deal.

Great deal once again

Couldn't agree more

7Enigma 02-21-2013 04:40 AM

wow this is a fantastic deal. And for modular!

Strawman1985 02-21-2013 09:07 AM

Looks like my Corsair power supply died at the right time. When I get my replacement I will have 2 power supplies. Go me. Haha

everix 02-21-2013 09:29 AM

Bought one of these last time it was on sale to use for my next build. Astounding deal for one of the best PSUs on the market.

owomo 02-21-2013 09:37 AM

In for 1. Great deal, thanks! This is much better than the alternative I was considering for ~$15 less. Love the 7 year warranty

roiei 02-21-2013 09:40 AM

Can someone please explain to a fool like me how the rebate is working?

I buy this power supply, print the PDF, fill the information and how I'm sending it? how do I get the 15$ rebate?

Thanks!

Buy > Fill out rebate > Attach UPC > Send via mail to the address provided > Wait about 4-6 weeks and you will receive a check or Check/VISA/MC/Amex card for $15.

squareff 02-21-2013 10:13 AM

Awesome power supply at a solid price

Synthetickiller 02-21-2013 10:17 AM

Does this suffer from the coil whine a lot of these units have?

I jumped on the 850w last time & while it's quiet (the hybrid fan mode is an interesting option), I have constant coil whine. It's annoying. Solid unit otherwise.

CHeston 02-21-2013 10:23 AM

Just barely not enough to run 2 480 GTX's in SLI. I suppose I could use a new PSU as my OCZ StealthStream 700 is at least 4 years old now. The last thing I want is a blown PSU ruining anything and since I use my Gaming PC as a Networked DVR system as well I leave it on 24/7.

Yes, it does. At least mine has a coil whine under the load :(

Thanks. Seasonic makes awesome PSUs, but coil whine drives me nuts.

I'll pass, but thanks OP. Great price!

threeclaws 02-21-2013 10:27 AM

Great PSU, good price (although in CA I'm hit with $10 in tax :( ) the best thing though is I see newegg is finally offering free will call again...that might be enough to get me to do business with them again.

jephtastic 02-21-2013 10:45 AM

I RMAed mine from last time and just got my replacement yesterday. It had a whine noise even while the computer was turned off. Will see what this one is like tonight.

NYCkid 02-21-2013 10:51 AM

In for one!! Thanks, OP!! Repped

mrgamers 02-21-2013 11:02 AM

I wonder when the platinum version is going to be on sale?

billyblonde 02-21-2013 11:14 AM

Where is my fully modular, quality, 500-600w PSU for $60 deal?

lowlt1 02-21-2013 11:34 AM

I bought one a year ago and it just died on me. I love mine silent and doesn't get hot. bummed about this one already dieing. 6 year old BFG 650W is still kicking. Going to RMA. no coil whine noise with the one i had. Hoping for a good one when the new one comes.

I also bought the 850w last week, no coil whine here! :) Got lucky I guess.
Great, power supply.

I bought this on the last deal and so far my rebate is MIA.

Heads up: Newegg takes a very long time on rebates.

Tunamix 02-21-2013 11:53 AM

My PC randomly restarts daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I replaced the graphics card and the PSU with this one from the last deal and it still does the same thing. Any possible solution?

Memtest each ram stick, sounds just like bad ram.

Mine doesn't seem to have a coil whine. This PSU will turn the fan off automatically when it's not under load. Making it a very quiet PSU.

What do you guys buy it for? I'm not a gamer, FYI.

JackScagnetti 02-21-2013 12:46 PM

90 seems over priced for 750W but it is modular which is good.

Gold rated too, which carries a premium. Takes better stuff inside and more engineering to be more efficient.

At least that is what I am going on :)

Plenty of juice for any single card rigs out there.

y2kirk1028 02-21-2013 01:38 PM

debating whether i should get this. the bad reviews about whining noise, DOAs, and bad RMA experience is putting me off. My 500W modular Corsair I bought for $50 is still going strong after 3 yrs.
I want to try a crossfire setup with another 6970, would 750W be enough? even with a i7 OC'ed to 4.0ghz?

Probably overclocked systems with watercooling and crossfire/SLI.

I'm in the market for something like this but closer to 500-600W :/

dealsifter 02-21-2013 03:44 PM

Noob question below. Most of the newer power supplies out there, including this one, have only 6+2 Pin PCI-E connectors. Most videocards require 1 or 2, 6 pin connectors.

Will the 6+2 pin connectors hook up to the 6 pin connectors, or will there need to be some adapter cable hooked up first?

Usually people with two graphics card need a psu of this wattage. normally, if u only use one graphics card, you will be fine iwth a 500 watt psu. In addition, seasonic is a nice brand with solid psu that can sometimes handle more than rated power. obviously, its not good for the psu, but lower quality units out there cant even reach the rated wattage.

6+2 means that it can be hooked to 6 pin connectors ALSO expandable to 8 pin connectors. This psu has enough 6+2 connectors for 2 graphic cards

adamc 02-21-2013 05:12 PM

I'd like it if that was the actual price -- don't care much for rebates, too incovenient.

Dealzcat still didn't get his rebate from last deal ...

So why this method so popular? I have no idea!

epoon2 02-21-2013 09:26 PM

very, very good powersupply. I have 1, highly recommended - silent, stable, powered.

I picked up the Seasonic 750 gold and the 850 gold and have read a lot about the coil whine. Super silent PSU performance is super important to me. I have not installed these two power supplies into my rigs yet. Please post your results or PM me regarding coil whine.

If my Seasonics whine, I will surely return/RMA them. Anyone have any experience with the RMA process with Seasonic? Was it a positive or negative experience? Did the new unit whine too?

Thank you,

Soar

Same exact problem as the first. I bought using shoprunner so I was covered return shipping back to newegg. I didn't realize though my replacement wasn't going to come through shoprunner so now I have to pay 14 dollars to ship it back to them...

vaca_loca 02-22-2013 06:26 AM

Even though this is probably overkill for my home desktop, a few weeks ago I was having some machine check exception bluescreens on WIndows 8... while it might have not been power related (Ubuntu 12.10 booted up just fine) I'll end up replacing an older Antec Earthwatts (non-modular) with this Seasonic one... that way I have a backup PS in case one of the ones in the desktops at home dies. The 7 year warranty was what made me jump on this... I haven't had many power supplies that lasted 5+ years...

kendogg 02-22-2013 06:51 AM

i purchased this from the previous newegg deal, and has been running quiet. How audible is the coil whine? Sorry im not very familiar with the term, but my computer sits below my desk and I haven't heard anything bothersome yet.

For those who don't need 750W and don't want the hassle of MIR, the Corsair HX650 is a great buy and available at Frys for $85.

$12 shipping kinda kills this one unless local pickup is an option.

The Frys around my area are all out of stock for local store pickup. A couple stores show open-box item, but a returned PSU sounds sketchy.

I picked it up at a local store. The website showed local availability, but 'out of stock' for local picup when I tried to pay for it online. The store cashier told me that the website is whacky and does strange things. Calling your local store is the best bet.

Atamido 02-25-2013 08:11 PM

I just got mine, crossing my fingers that there isn't a noticeable coil whine...

Edit: I dropped it into a Dell Optiplex 9010 (required removing the door latch) and I can't hear the coil whine. The system had a 300W powersupply in it before, and the UPS said the system would pull ~1W when idle. After putting in this powersupply that number didn't change. I even put an AMD HD 7850 and the idle is still ~1W.
