Need a new 2.5" HD for an old laptop.
The original, internal hard drive in my Dell XPS M1210 is failing. I need to replace it asap. Tis computer has a 160 GB drive. I don't feel any need to replace it with anything gargantuan, or solid-state, or anything else expensive. It's an old laptop. I just want to save my data, and be able to keep using the laptop until the motherboard, or some other critical component dies, making it impractical to salvage the system. A little more storage might not be a bad thing, but my needs for this laptop are modest. Performance upgrades are also fine, but not a must.
I know nothing about terminology like SATA, etc.. So, my problem is that I don't even know what parameters to search for on SD. Please help! Thank you! |
Anything that is 2.5" and SATA will work fine. Here is newegg's laptop section:
http://www.newegg.com/Laptop-Hard...ory/ID-380 Both of these are decently respectable brands: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6822152288 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6822149374 And are about as cheap as you're going to get. |
Thank you, shnitz!
