Fry's Weekly Ad error: Logitech G27 Racing Wheel for $39.99
 

In this weeks Fry's ad, they have the Logitech G27 Racing Wheel for $39.99. The description of the wheel is correct but clicking on the link sends you to the Logitech G9X mouse. This wheel normally goes for at least $200. I'm sure some of you may be able to grab one for this price when the stores open (before they catch the mistake). Good luck!

What about trying to price match to another store?

This would've been plausible if it was in the "printed" ad. This ad page, however, isn't the one that gets printed in the newspapers.

Not carried at BestBuy.

They probably already have their typical "correction" flyers up on their ad corkboard before the ad started anyway. Would try to pricematch, but Best Buy was the last and only B&M I seen this wheel at (besides Fry's of course) and that was years ago when they clearanced them off for $149.

So there is no point to going to fry's when they open?

Based on experience, no. However as always YMMV and I'm sure someone will score it.

I wouldn't if you have to drive more than 5-10 miles round trip...I'm 100% sure this is not going to work.... Frys is stingy with any PM to begin with. I just don't see frys letting a $200 item go for $40

I haven't worked there fore 15 years but in the 8 months that I worked there, we did not honor a single pricing error ever.

The last time Fry's had a mistake on the Note 10.1, quite a few people were able to price match at bestbuy. Unfortunately, the wheel is not on Bestbuy's website so the only choice to possibly get one for this price would be to go to Fry's right when they open or try to price match somewhere else.

You can try and live chat with Office Depot and do a PM, but I highly doubt that would work, I don't see Frys in the list of stores they PM online

True, but I do know their ads are modified versions of the weekly pages 1-8. Haven't seen a "pc gaming" page in my area yet. Now if we're really lucky, they'll handpick this item to show up on the weekly ad print. ;)

Already did, shot down instantly and given the list of stores that they price match.

Yeah figured as much, sucks Frys isn't on there, only chance would be to hit it early if they did and catch a rookie agent :lol:

Janitor knew a lot then, he was rambling on about how they have to add it to their cart and verify price that way and can't just use an ad. BTW it mustbe the same person cause they already knew about the wheel when I asked about Frys.

I was this close! :lol: And then she had to go get approval from her supervisor, who probably had a heart attack, because she quickly invented a bogus reason and said "No".

I got shot down by Dell even though they price match to Frys. No explanation given. This is the response I got:
"Hi,

too much of a price difference to get a PM, you need a really dumb CSR

I picked up a thrustmaster T500 rs racing wheel for 400 bucks in January at frys. that's 200 bucks off msrp. maybe they are getting out of the wheel business.

Say hello to that white paper scotch taped to all the damn podiums at frys saying we regret to inform you but the ad saying $40 imaginary racing wheel. we actually meant ;) a gaming mouse for $40 or more sorry bout that...

Side note: frys is notorious for getting you in the door with a bunch of woopsies, they do it all the damn time on tv's I say to myself im glad I didnt drive here for that crap.. would have been pissed to be lied to about a tv getting high hopes up for nothing especially if its a different model for a higher price nothing remotely slick worth getting your ass off the chair and in the car for. hahaha ah man.

The item number also doesn't match that of the racing wheel. However, the name and picture are clearly the racing wheel, so you have a decent chance of them giving it to you at that price.

No, you don't. As noted, a correction has probably already been posted...and if not, they already know the drill as "just another ad mistake"...given it's an almost weekly thing.

Gave it a shot since there's a Frys on the way to work. There was no correction on the wall, so I picked one up, but was shot down as expected.

Damn, they didn't have to use a gun! It was an error on their behalf.

I'm not one of those who feel entitled to price mistake deals. I'll give it a fair shot, but if they shoot me down, I'm not going to throw a fit.

man, don't see this anywhere on the local paper. It's going to be hard for this to fly in store.

So I tried this today; I noted the following

1. Two G27 wheels were pulled from shelves (although due to this I never did find where they are supposed to go) and stashed in a cart that an employee at some point was using, definitely not a customers cart.

2. The ad at the front of the store reflected the 39.99 price

3. Scanned in at 299.99 + tax

4. I said that I saw the price was 39 perhaps more but under 50 in the ad at the front. I didn't have a copy on me so they "went into the back" for about 2 min and came back with a flier that didn't include the wheel.

5. I didn't push the issue; it is certainly a long shot. Fry's runs a tight ship, it didn't seem like any type of "override" adjustment would be done here.

6. They didn't have the SD card I went there looking for.
