okinawanmatt 02-22-2013 07:43 PM

$10?

$40 regular price from TigerDirect. Other sites sell for $100 (over priced).

But for $10? Slick.

Shouldn't have got Inner Circle, worth it when it's $30. $10 is a no brainer.

Now let's see if they don't cancel my order.

robinski_ 02-22-2013 08:07 PM

in for 1 just because I want TD to spend some more $$$ shipping stuff to me :)

it's $50 regularly lol

K6-2 02-22-2013 08:10 PM

Looks like you can mount at 10 drives using the 6 internal 3½" and 4 external 5¼¨ bays. Front USB 2.0. External 3½" bay for floppy disk drive or maybe add-in front USB 3.0 port with flash card reader.

110 Amazon reviews for the blue Elite 310, 4.6 out of 5 stars. (Out of stock) [amazon.com]

Would make an OK server case, as well.

Just about any Cooler Master case is a good case, but for$10?

That's Slick.

Thanks, imabored!

Yeah I wouldn't pay $50 for it. At $30 it's $2.50 per month which is pretty good given an average of 5 to 10 FAR deals a month. Regular 5% CB. No tax in CA. Works for me.

I like making them ship stuff too. Reminds me of the old days buying 9' long bits of aluminum for $2 from Amazon and having them shipped with Prime

I got it @ $50, got too tired of all the TD deals I was missing

bought 10 AMD cpus in a price mistake @ 50% off and made it back right away lol

still have to pay tax though..

New_World 02-22-2013 08:29 PM

temped but i already have a antec 1200 in the case new

i guess I'll pass, but a sweet deal for about $20 after rebate and shipping.

LOctopus 02-22-2013 08:38 PM

goddamn good deal. I got 3! :P I know the 2nd and 3rd won't qualify for the rebate, but its a sweet deal even at $20. Thinking of getting more.

dpham00 02-22-2013 08:43 PM

Probably came out in 2009, reviews indicate that it was $40 at that time.

Yea its an older case. I remember the prices being $40-45. There's a successor called the Cooler Master 311. Sells for about the same.

Yes I recall that, I was the guy in the thread who ordered a much more modest number of CPUs and had my delivery intercepted! It all had a happy ending though, so I'm not complaining.

Nice case, have one from way back in a FAR deal. Good air flow, however dust gets sucked into the area around the blue (in my case) trim due to the mesh intake.

baonguyen312 02-23-2013 06:46 AM

Great price, but I don't like the window side. I am gonna pass and wait for FAR case :D .

Whether or not you can get free shipping, it's still a good deal IMHO. $45 vs $20? Great deal. more than 50% off. If you have Inner Circle membership it's $45 vs $10. Great deal.

When compared to other vendors who sell it for $100? $20? Slick deal.

So I still don't understand why it didn't make the frontpage, unless $20 is a normal price and I just don't know it.

Have this in orange, pretty happy with it though at some point I tipped it over and cracked the side panel, blah (would probably order this one just for side panel if shipping was free).

Only problem i've had with it is during my upgrade from an ati/amd to nv/intel configuration I found my side panel fan no longer fit along with my hyper212.

would be nice if had more holes for access to back side of CPU for the higher end cooling options.
or pathways to route wires from behind, for basic case, dies the job, good find...

It's actually a fair question, since overclocking often requires additional cooling facilitated by case fans to go along with a good CPU cooling fan, for example. Perhaps the question should have been worded more like "Does this case provide sufficient cooling and airflow for overclocking the CPU and/or GPU?" :)

It's only got 1 included rear 120mm fan, but there is space for another fan on the side and one in front so you should be able to "overclock with this case" just fine.

If you're asking can you overclock with a case, overclocking probably isn't for you ;)

Very rarely would the case matter *that* much with cooling unless you are watercooling. With air cooling and overclocking, the vast majority (90% at least) of the cooling ability is going to be with the CPU cooler (remember you are limited by ambient air temps). The only thing that I can think of that would even come close to qualifying as a problem with air cooling with a standard cheap case is if the case is too small to accommodate a large after market cooler (such as the monstrous noctua nh-d14).

I've overclocked many, many cpus and the case has never mattered in any of those situations that didn't involve water cooling (and that was because most cases are too small to accommodate large radiators/reservoirs). Wait I take that back. Once an after market cooler was too small for a media center I was building but the customer insisted on having it so I had to mod the case and the heat pipes on top of the cooler ended up sticking through the side of the case - it actually looked pretty cool haha.

A case matters a lot when you've got a hot graphics card without a good cooler to vent hot air out the back of the computer.

This is only the 24th? Could've sworn it's later than that. LOL.

$10 AR makes this really tempting. Must resist since I already have 3 extra cases at home.

Actually I did over clock my desktop with liquid cooling a few years back. I had used an ultra cheap case at time time since I was on a very tight budget. But it was a real pain over clocking since the overall thermal profile of the case sucked.

That is the reason I asked this question. Wanted to know how well this case lends to overall airflow. Th0r answered the question.

I did, charged an extra buck fifty :lmao:. What's funny is I was trying to overcharge the guy because I didn't want to do it (I absolutely hate doing case mods, even minor ones like this one). I know, some people love doing them and there are entire communities dedicated to them - and that's great - i'm just not one of them LOL so I charged what I figured the guy would just say naa, let me get another case (the case was $100, cheaper than the mod). But he really liked that case. Customer is always right... right? :lmao:

If you are doing SLI/Xfire I agree with you that a decent case matters (omg so much freaking heat generated) but with a single dual-slot graphics card I still think the case isn't worth worrying about. Modern dual-slot graphic cards are pretty great at pushing enough air out (most, if not all, pull air from the case and push it out the back). Even cases without a front fan wouldn't overheat with a moderate OC on a single dual-slot graphics card.

Regardless, we can all agree this case rocks for the price. It's rare that quality prices can be found for sub $20, even rarer for freaking 10 bucks if you have inner circle. I still miss those cooler master cases that were FAR back in what, around 08' during black friday? I got so many of those I had trouble storing them all (at the time I had access to like 10 addresses and ended up getting max limit of cases per address. 30 huge case boxes everywhere).

Actually a case DOES matter, not only in size! Cases with poor ventilation will increase the overall ambient temperature inside the case.

You shouldn't just factor ambient room temperature alone, rather realize that the internal ambient temperature of the case varies depending on the ambient room temperature.

Having said that, this case doesn't have the best ventilation. With the right cooler you shouldn't have to worry about the case (If you did have the right you probably wouldn't be skimping on the case *lol*).

Also, why do people complain about top loading PSU cases? They may have harder cable management, however they pull in heat from the cpu/mobo and push it out ;)

My first rig was going to use this exact case, I opted for the Antec 300 instead.
The Antec 300 can install more fans, and has far superior build quality.

The CM can have a front fan, however it pulls air from inside the case (which doesn't really help at all). The CM case's red finish looks really cool, and feels very slick to the touch. The rest of the case doesn't, for example the buttons feel like shoddy plastic, etc. The glass flexes too, I would be afraid of bumping it.

Yes, I know the ports are on the back of the motherboard, but cases usually come with a backplate... eh, it's been awhile since my last build, I suppose the motherboard comes with a replacement backplate..

What good would it be to have a backplate supplied with the case when you could use any number of different motherboards with different layouts? The motherboard should always supply the backplate.

Let me know, if these 120mm fans ( Free after MIR ) are compatible for front and side and are they any good ?

Yeah, I had a memory glitch. But every case I've always built Has come with a default backplate... I've always replaced them though :)

Not having a back plate on a case is fine. Not having a back plate on a motherboard is a problem.

Received mine today. Tried to do the rebate only to discover the UPC code for the product I received is 884102008481 instead of the UPC 884102005671 listed in the offer.
Now am a little bit doubtful about whether the rebate will work or not.

Hmm......

Hmm......

I received the same item. Its model number is SY-310-RWN1 and the logo on the front says SYX instead of Cooler Master. It must be a rebadged case for Systemax. Looks like we'll have to contact tigerdirect...

*Update*
This case is probably a leftover part from when Tigerdirect used to allow you to custom build Systemax (SYX) computers. You can see this case used for the SYX Venture SG-310 [tigerdirect.com] or the Systemax Crossfire Vision SYX-1046 [tigerdirect.com]

Ring up TD and complain. With a bit of luck they will just credit you $10.

Nope wrong UPC. Did most people get the correct case? I suppose I need to contact them to see how they are going to make this right.

Need to call tonight. Seems like most got the correct case I guess. I am going to request an RMA unless they make it right though.

I called CS at T D. He said fill out the help form here [tigerdirect.com]. Rep will contact w/in 1-2 business days. I'm not concerned about it though, as the items is as it should be except some generic nameplate & item number. TD will make it good, per the policy:
http://images.highspeedbackbone.net/...ubblearrow.gif Rebate Assurance PolicyWe want to make sure that you receive any rebate for which you are eligible and properly apply for. If you meet all eligibility requirements for a rebate, properly follow the rebate submission rules and timeline, and can substantiate that you were eligible and complied with the submission rules we will intercede on your behalf with the rebate sponsor and processor as needed to help secure payment of your claim. Although we are not the sponsor of the mail in rebate we will stand behind and assist you in the unlikely event you are improperly denied or otherwise do not receive payment for a qualified and properly applied for rebate claim.

Keep copies of everything and you'll be fine.

live2hit01 03-01-2013 04:53 PM

orange is also 9.99 after rebate

robinski_ 03-01-2013 04:57 PM

they're even pumping out an additional 2 rebates now lol

sundown 03-01-2013 05:43 PM

Order Total: $31.92

Still Slick @ $31.92 - 10MIB = $22 <===?

He/she was just trying to fob you off, as they usually do. It says "If you meet all eligibility requirements for a rebate", which is the point. We're not eligible for the rebate currently. Everyone has to call otherwise they won't realize they have a problem.

Maybe so, SL, but I'll get the ten bucks. No doubt.

I bought this, did not get CM branded case. Contacted TD and was advised to fill out the rebate as is and include the wrong UPC (i.e. the one from the Syx-branded box) and if the rebate company denies to contact them and they will "make things right". We'll see how it plays out :lmao:

TomClancy 03-02-2013 04:19 AM

Was gonna buy this case anyway... this is an awesome price.

Yep, same here, SYX badged case NOT cooler master like the pictures, response was the same, send in the non-matching UPC and if there is any issues they will make it right, yet another rebate to flag in my list :lmao:

Cruxx 03-02-2013 07:35 AM

This deal is not quite dead yet.

Orange version still $9.99 after rebate.

Hi. Has anyone gotten this message from UPS: Multiple tracking numbers were found on this package. / Shipper requested return of package? My case was suppose to arrive on Friday but the UPS guy never came and now it looks like my package is going back to the sender. Maybe Tiger Direct recalled it so that they can send the right case? I noticed a few people posting here indicating that they got a different branded case.

First case I got has been delivered and is a re-badged SYX, I'm not really complaining it was a cheap case, but people do recognize the cooler master logo and that's what the website pictures show, kind of annoying...
My other shipment show on-time delivery of wednesday...as of now anyway.

If you look at the item # on tigerdirect's website and the first part is "SYX-", you will be getting a SYX badged case (at least according to the phone guy).
Example: Item#: SYX-602103OH
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applic...No=7622483

Who is SYX...
"The Systemax North American Technology Products Group, a business unit of Systemax Inc. (NYSE: SYX), which includes the TigerDirect, CompUSA and Circuit City brands.... "
http://www.syxmarketing.com/syste...ments/1380

Tigerdirect is under SYX, so are these cooler master cases Systemax bought on closeout and rebadged to sell through tigerdirect:confused:

Argofx 03-03-2013 05:25 PM

thanks. so I contacted Tiger Direct using their chat. They could not answer why the package was being sent back other than the package having multiple labels. All they can do is give me a refund so I guess no case for me. Not very happy with TD at the moment :/

LOctopus 03-06-2013 12:39 PM

So... what are people doing about the UPC issue?

jwkoda 03-06-2013 02:05 PM

I called TD and explained the UPC issue. They said the rebate center would accept the alternate UPC from the SYX case. I had previously called the rebate center about this and they said that "we have no UPC exceptions on file for this offer". After providing that information and requesting a return shipping label, TD is sending me a $10 TD gift card.

Spoke to tiger direct today they said that they would issue a refund because the upc didn't match. Total call time including hold time was 8 minutes. Not bad, considering the horror stories I have heard. We shall see what happens

I've gotten 3 of these cases and each one I had to follow up with:
For one they refunded my credit card, the other they issued tigerdirect credit and the third I actually got the rebate (only after contacting the rebate assurance prog),

Wonderful

One thing I don't understand is why they would go through the trouble of APPROVING the rebate, just to completely remove it from their system as if it never even existed, when I have both the documentation as well as emails as proof
