I know for sure Front Mission Evolved is a Steamworks title - just enter the CD key into steam, but run the steam.exe inside the DVD and save yourself the download.

Except the online community is pretty dead, though people on the Steam forums say they will join a game if you msg them.

You can downlod them for xbox too :P Albeit more difficult. ;)

I'm not sure why so many people have trouble with understanding the Newegg rebate cards are the same kind that virtually all the companies use now. Almost everytime a Newegg FAR deal comes up we get this.. wtf?

How do you convert yours if you don't mind me asking? I just convert them to Amazon gift cards since I shop there quite a bit lately (ever since Prime LOL).

It means it's not really a "debit card" where you can go to any ATM and enter a pin code to cash it out.

Usually the best way to cash these out is to buy yourself a $10 Amazon.com giftcard code and just redeem the entire amount of that particular card. It'll take about 10-30 minutes to actually drain the debit card, and you'll receive easy instructions via email to redeem it to your amazon.com account.

You get a prepaid $10 Visa card. It can be accepted anywhere a Visa is accepted, except for certain paces like a self-service gas station or an ATM. It's not a gift card.

Newegg rebates are fulfilled by Velocity Fulfillment (RebateAccess.com). They are reliable, but they take a very long time.

I would anticipate at least 10 to 14 weeks to get your prepaid card back.

It was slow but reliable last year before Black Friday. It would take about 1.5 months, but I received all of my rebates.


However, there are about 5 outstanding rebates I'm waiting on since Black Friday. I don't know if they've been inundated... I'm starting to get worried since it's been 2-3 months and I still haven't received some rebates.

Im reading the Bethesda rebate and it says "one rebate per product line per person, address, household" Ive been wrong before tonight but doesn't that mean you can only do one game from the bethesda line, not all of them??

The online rebate system lets you select more than one product from the product line and creates a custom print out that covers all items you choose. If you bought two items, you can select both items on the same rebate printout and they will send you a $20 Visa Card.

I was talking about Newegg In-House Rebates (pre-registered at newegg.rebateaccess.com).

The Cooler Master 200mm Fan rebate is fulfilled by Velocity Fulfillment, but they are on a different rebate cycle. I still haven't received my Cooler Master Thermal Fusion #1 from Fry's Black Friday weekend... so they clearly haven't sent those out yet.

Patriot Memory rebates should be fulfilled by 4MyRebate, am I right? (patriotmem.4myrebate.com)
You might want to check on that one. My last Patriot Memory one sent on 11-08-12, came back 01-02-13.

As for the Arctic MX-4 #1, I still haven't received that one. I sent it out on 12-17-12, but according to tracking "the response was mailed" and I should receive it by March 17th, 2013.

I just got an ASUS motherboard rebate from Black Friday last week and I sent it at the end of November. So 12 weeks for the rebate to finish. It was an ASUS rebate and a pre-paid AMEX card, not sure if that caused a delay or not.

#1 Yes, you can purchase multiple distinct games on the same order.
#2 If you purchase 2 games from the same publisher, you will only have to mail in 1 rebate registration form. Just make sure to select the appropriate titles you purchased during the registration claim process.

You will have to mail in the original UPC code for EACH GAME, so keep that in mind.

The total payout will adjust, depending on the # of items you claim for each publisher.

So, if you claim 2 games, the payout will be $20.00, and so on.

I made them in three orders - once you go over seven items you receipt often requires two pages, and if you go to four pages - multiple UPC's or a couple of pieces of tape on the envelope can make your postage go up. Great deal, more stuff I'll never use - but a couple I really do plan to use. :D

Didn't get Darkness II or 40k Space Marine in time, but got the other 17 games, 2 fans, and both the McAfee and Norton anti-viruses that Discombobulated posted with Shoprunner and total of 2% cashback. Every post office around me has ATMs to buy stamps from. And lots of bank ATMs sell them too. And groceries stores.

I've never seen any trade-in for windows games on any Amazon or BBY. I think it's due to unique validity serial code for each game.

I don't think there's a simple/free way to print first-class stamps. However, you can just order stamps from the USPS website [usps.com] and they'll deliver them with your mail.

I use Google Chrome - and the print feature sucked for soooo long. Haven't even bothered to see if the newer version I'm using lets you do that, I worked around the print problems for such a long time they've become habits - obviously, I guess. My old HP scanner uses IE6 as a front end, and if you update you lose a bunch of very handy/easy to use features, so I decided to use Google Chrome for surfing on everything (so bookmark maintenance is easier). Good advice if I had a secure IE version on this machine. BTW - ff you do all nineteen games on one page - exactly how tiny IS the type? :shake:

FYI - firefox had/maybe still has only one significant negative, but it's a doozy. If you open too many tabs, you'd could get data corruption that could get so bad you could no longer boot into Windows. With the old IE6 security issues, and then my needing to keep it for the scanner - why I sort of defaulted to Chrome. :sleepy:

Edit: Ok just printed out a sample copy (and for reference attaching the PDF of my order) - the printed out page is legible, but very small. I've done them this small before though so I don't doubt it would work, but for some who are more cautious they would probably want to reduce the size to something like 70 or 80% and end up with two sheets instead of the 50% I used and one sheet.

Fallout New Vegas is sold out now. It sold out right before I hit the confirmation button (was waiting for the first order to show up in my order history before I hit the button, kind of paranoid about newegg combining my orders since amazon will do that).
Picked up Dragon Age 2 and Dawn of War II.

I really enjoyed it but the online community might be dwindling by now.

I've used Firefox since it was first released and I've never seen nor heard of this issue (and I work in IT and have supported hundreds of Firefox users). I usually have between 200 and 800 tabs open and haven't had a problem. Maybe there was one version in there somewhere that had this problem, but if so it must have been fixed quickly before it affected me. The only problem I've had with too many open tabs is that eventually Firefox will hit the Windows memory limit for a 32-bit application (usually somewhere around 900+ tabs). The solution to that is to run Cyberfox, a 64-bit variant of Firefox that doesn't have that issue. I have taken that version up past 1,300 tabs, using about 4GB of memory. (Are there any 12-step programs for tab addicts?)

Meanwhile, I have an IE8 window open with eight tabs that's using almost 1GB of RAM (across five iexplore.exe processes). I've never been able to figure out why IE eats so much memory.

While that will work, the printer is not free and the labels aren't free. The guy was just looking for a free way to print a few stamps to mail his rebates. USPS free stamp delivery is the best solution for him, you can order as few as four stamps at a time.

Looks like these are only newegg giftcard rebates... not really worth it for me as I have a lot of these games already... if this was for Amazon rebates, I would be all over it. Just don't use Newegg all that often to invest a hundred bucks in it.

Homefront OOS

Pretty cool sale... or at least it would be if I didn't already own every single game on the list for the Xbox 360 except for Dawn of War II (I paid around $10 each new for most of these games). I don't see any reason to re-buy them all on the PC, even for free after rebate. Now if Newegg had had this sale a couple years ago before I had bought all of the console versions on sale, then I would've been all over this, but this PC deal is too little too late.

Cool, I wanted to try out Rage but it's launch was such a disaster and it didn't seem to get good enough reviews to pay money for it. Might as well give it a go now!

Best game in the sale is Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Fallout 3 in my opinon. Spent hundreds of hours each on both of those.

Is it normal for the rebate not to show up on the product page?

If you don't have the Oblivion/Bioshock you need to get it. Both games graphically are outdated but good gameplay for both.
Played Red faction for 10 minutes, not my cup of tea.
Rage is ok, but could of been a lot better.

Space Marine was a break away from the RTS Warhammer that everyone was used to, I liked it..
Haven't finished Dragon age Origins yet, Dragon Age 2 is on backlog....

The Lego games are old but will provide fun for some, my kids hate lego games so good for me, hate filling out all the rebate forms for sub-par games that will never be played. Just saved me 3 stamps!
Didn't like F.E.A.R 1, which was supposed to be the best out of them all, so I will pass for the third.

If you look at the rebate form, in the upper right corner is a picture and words that says prepaid newegg.com VISA card.

Its a newegg visa gift card which can be used anywhere. Look at the upper right corner, I have about 5 of these sitting in front of me right now from other offers. I just use them for gas, there is a station by me, that charges the same for cash/credit.

I have a surprising amount of the games listed, but in for Force Unleashed 2 (i know, i know). I can't believe that I'm going to pass on some of the others left in stock, but hopefully they go to a good home.

Thanks OP. Got in for Rage and Force Unleashed 2. Was kinda iffy on whether I wanted Rage, but I guess even if I don't like it, it's not like it'll cost me anything in the long run.

It's not the same. If you're looking for a classic srpg front mission game, you won't find it here. Evolved is a 3rd person shooter that lacks the wonderfully crafted story of the "true" front mission games. The game is fun if you like giant mech 3rd person shooters or just wanna control a wanzer. Just don't expect too much out of the story.

Oh, and yes, it does activate on steam. It's required actually.

One more question It's fine to order the bio shock bundle syndicate and rage all in the same order right? And this does not conflict with the FAR mafia 2 that was on recently?

I purchased Fallout 3 after Mafia II and Brink, I think it should be fine since it's not even the same rebate. Besides if there was a limitation on products, the rebates would clearly say Bethseda instead of listing out all the games individually.

You can use square or something to transfer it directly into you checking account for a few cents. or just transfer any left over you have after buying yourself lunch or something.

First off, you must have shipped it economy free three day they use for heavier items (UPS).. the 5-7 day low weight stuff takes a good 5-7 BUSINESS days, sometimes goes in the opposite direction as you, even if you live next door to newegg. which defies reason, and you'll get it in a good 7 BUSINESS days.

I dont live near newegg. but when newegg uses UPS shipping. I get it in 24 hours not 7 days. so you must be lucky.

as for shoprunner banning. so far Ive only seen 2 unique people on the internet claim that happened to them, and a hundred saying they "heard" they do that. They may, who knows but Id think Id see alot more rage posts. Maybe if you do 10 a day or within a week at the same store. you should have no problem if you use get them all on the same reciept.

For rebate purposes, I placed like 7 separate orders. Last time I did it with Brink/Mafia 2, they shipped them together anyway. I'm pretty sure they'll do the same here even if you order them separately.

In any case, does someone know the answer to my previous question? Does "Activate on Steam" mean that I don't need the disc for anything? Just the activation key and it'll automatically download on there?

And even if you placed orders separately, NE will sometimes combine everything into a single shipment. I ordered Mafia 2, Brink, and McAfee last week and everything came in one box.

That is correct. If you activate the key on your steam account, the game will be added to your library. At that point you could either install the game(s) via disc or download it via Steam.

Newegg cancelled my order of the 4 THQ games...?

I have recieved all my rebates from newegg in the past. I think they use 4myrebate as the underlying processor.

the thing is 80 percent of people fill them out wrong. Im serious. there was a bug in how 4myrebate had it rebates stored in the cloud.. and if you raised the url number by 1 increment you could view all the other rebate submissions.. and 8 out of 10 I would have declined. some people just sign thier name.. others forget the reciept, others leave thier phone number blank, use a post office box, forget to sign thier name, forget the upc, only put thier first name on, send it late and so on.

newegg sends you a confirm email when you submit the rebate. so mark it as priority, scan a copy of your rebate to your pc and check back on it after a certain amount of time.

Shoprunner cancelled my account because I placed too many Newegg orders (no joke).

If you bought them on the same order, then you would send in one rebate form with all 4 UPC's and you will get a $40 Visa card in the mail.

Oh weird. 4MyRebate has been very reliable but their practices are strange. I have some rebates that are approved on the spot with instant GCs processing and others that are approved on the spot with no GC processing 10 days later. I even have some that have been received like two weeks ago with neither approval nor denial.

Eh, last two rebates I did with Newegg they rejected even though I filled them out perfectly. Have been having a real hard time with them these days. Not quite up to par as they once were.

I'm not sure about the others, but I broke it up into 3 separate orders so I could exactly use up some of the prepaid rebate cards that I had ($60, $60, $30).

It was around a year ago so I don't remember the exact numbers. I'm guessing that it was around 15 orders in a month or so. As far as I know, I would have no luck trying to get it restored.

How does newegg earn money by doing this?

Just a heads up that Fallout 3 is going in and out of stock some. I went to get it around 7.15 am PST but it went OOS by the time I checked out through paypal. Settled for RAGE. Was just poking around some and it was back in stock as of 7.50 am. Now OOS again.

From 3 orders I only see 1 in my history on Newegg

edit: Took a while, but all 3 show up in my history now, all ShopRunner orders using a rebate AMEX card.

They're earning money in the sense that they are borrowing money from consumers for a few months to increase their cash flow and by getting rid of their inventory space (it costs money for storage).

Edit: In for Rage and I hope the rebate will be legit. I would've loved to purchase BFBC2, Darkness II limited edition, and Fallout New Vegas, but it seems that it went out of stock by the time I woke up this morning.

I just placed an order and it confirmed but s not showing up in history or email reciept. maybe they are swamped and having a hard time keeping up.

The fact that the OOS's are going from "auto-notify" to "out of stock" to "discontinued" means these are probably old games sitting around in a warehouse. Lets say the rebate completion rate is 75% then Newegg will effectively sell these games for $2.50 each. Of course that's just a wild guess and I'm not even counting the administrative expenses/shipping charges, but Newegg will probably make some money for getting rid of these older games.

I really hope these can be steam activated.

Graphics were decent imo, and it had good potential. Not worth the space on your hdd.

FWIW, I enjoyed it despite its faults. The story was disappointing, levels are extremely linear and there are technical issues that require a lot of tweaking, but the gunplay is phenomenal and there's some terrific art design throughout. Had I bought it Day 1 I would've been disappointed and regretted the purchase, but for $5 or less, definitely worth it.

Does this actually work? Have you tried it? I haven't tried prepaid cards on RedBox, but all I've read online says they detect prepaid cards and reject them (or at least ones under ~$30, which is the maximum they charge you before you own the rental video).

If it works, then this is great! I simply haven't tried it yet because I figured prepaids would be rejected. Please prove me wrong!

It works fine.I Have rented dozens of free movies this way, but the prepaid card has to have your name on it to work. Pre paid cards you buy in store will not work, it has something to do with the Zip Code you have to enter. Thats why these Newegg rebate cards are great, but Staples and I think Tiger Direct RC's work also. Of course, i'm sure it won't be long till Redbox eliminates this loophole....just like Staples is nerfing the rewards program.

Prepaid visa gc's can be registered online so your name /addy & zip are associated with the card, at least the ones I've bought at grocery stores that use the mygiftcard .com system. I haven't paid for a netflix in a long time, other than the extra charge for blu rays (codes reduce the price by whatever the charge for a normal dvd rental is).

As far as this deal, and the rebates, it seems Newegg and tigerdirect have swapped roles as good rebate / bad rebate sellers - in the past 2 years, I've gotten rejected or gotten nothing at all on 3 rebates, all from Newegg purchases - xigmatek, some case fans, and some other thing I forget now what it was. Used to be, way back in the olden days, a call to newegg and they'd make good, but they refused the last 2 times I called them on a rebate non fulfillment issue. Not a single issue with any td rebates in at least the past 3 years, for me anyway.

Newegg makes a profit by selling more items for a profit than items they sell at a loss. Say your on the corner offering your service for $7, as long as you're service cost you less, you'll make money. Same principle. Maybe enough for a coffee.:eek:

for some reason everytime the machines at the PO are always either out of order or sold out of stamps. I can get 1c and 2c stamps just fine from the machines but never the full first class stamps (now 45cents)

UPS smartpost, that is UPS + USPS, and USPS first class is always fast, I've never had newegg take more than 1 business day packing and shipping stuff

regarding shoprunner, I placed 20-30 orders in 1 day during BF and no ban, but since it can happen I'm not going to place 10 orders in the span of 5 minutes with it, especially when newegg ships me the stuff just as fast anyways
