There are a bunch of $.99, $1.49, $1.99 fillers on the PSN store that'll bring your order above $50 to qualify for the $10 back. Or you could grab a movie or a $5.99 ps1 classic, whatever floats your boat :bounce:

Nice suggestion about ps1 classics. I'm hopeful that at least digital ps1 purchases will be playable on the ps4.

The $10 credit they sent me + this basically makes 15 months of PS+ $30. :D

Who says it will? It took forever for Sony to add PS+ benefits to the Vita. I'm sure they'll eventually have a PS+ program for the PS4, but I wouldn't really count on it being in place at launch. Besides, Sony will support the PS3 for at least a couple years after the PS4 is launched (look at how long they supported the PSX and PS2).

You KNOW PS+ will still work with PS4 - likely, they'll even have some PS4 content on there, free within a short period, just like the Vita at Thanksgiving.

Or - do you want your PS3 games to work on the PS4? Really doubt that would work - it might, but don't count on it.

I know I went from PSP to PSVita with no change at all in my Plus account. If they port games you already "own" over to PS4, then you should be able to just download again in PS4 format....at least, that's how it worked with the Vita. I was able to take PSP content I'd already purchased and just redownload to the Vita.

Not saying they CAN'T screw it up - but up til now, everything has worked in the gamer's favor.

Damn!! should of waited to get the black ops2 DLC, no point buying it last year when the new maps aren't even out until later this week.

Yesterday I grabbed the 500gb PS3, 1 mo. PS+ and ACIII bundle. If I use the included 1 month free of PS+ immediately and buy the 12 months before 3/4 to get the 3 months also. Does it all get tacked on to an account for 16 total months?

The difference in offerings for EU & US Plus is staggering. Mine just expired and I'm not going to renew even though I have a one year voucher paid for. If anything, I'd seriously consider going with EU's superior service.

None of the psn digital downloads will automatically work with ps4.

Sony is working on "streaming" games, which could possibly allow you to stream the games you've already bought without having to pay any extra, but there has been no word on when that service will be available or how many games will be streamable.

But as far as just buying a ps4 and being able to download the stuff that you've already bought, NO you will not be able to. Sony already came out and said so.

So be careful about how much stuff you buy

I'm a bit leery of the bonus PS+ extension considering they announced the PS4 just this week.

My thought is that either This will turn out to be super sweet (Sony has been known to be the more generous of the three console makers in the online arena, it seems), or I'm gonna regret making that long of a PS+ commitment... Guess I have until 3/4 to decide if I wanna take this gamble. I mean, they certainly didn't HAVE to let me have PS+ on my Vita with free downloadable a, but they did.

I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Ps3 games (including digital downloads) will not work on the ps4, but there is no reason to think that the ps4 won't have ps+ quickly.

So the games that you dowload NOW will not be compatible with ps4, but the games they release on PSN for the ps4 will work on the ps4 (obviously).

So all that will happen is that part of your membership will help you with ps3, and then after ps4 comes out it will help you with ps4 (after a while, i doubt they give free ps4 games out right away).

Sony is not going to screw its customers out of money by saying, "Sorry, we don't have ps+ anymore so you're out of luck".

PS+ will be around for ps4, it just that ps3 will only be compatible with ps3, and ps4 will only be compatible with ps4

Better gas prices in Europe? Gas is way more expensive on average in Europe. As in twice as expensive or more in some cities.

Regarding the deal, I'll probably get another 15 months of PS+ even though I'm good through December 2015 from the $40 deal a couple weeks ago.

Yes, you might be missing something. Whether you want/would play the games they offer free to members; whether the discounts on games they offer to members, and whether other benefits would warrant the $50 a year is completely up to you. Myself, getting over $30 in downloaded game discounts last month almost paid for itself in one shot. Depending on the game, free beta access to new games can also be worth it for some.

My wife entered her one year code almost two weeks ago. Sony sent her $10 today.

Agreed. I feel it has been well worth the money. But the games are typically older. Great for new PS3 adopters who haven't played much. If you tend to play most of what is A+ titles and recently released, then you won't find much value.

Agreed, plus even when games I already own pop-up on Plus, the Plus versions often include all the DLC (Resident Evil 5 Gold) which makes up a lot of the cost bc I hadn't bought the DLC before. In addition to that I have traded back games I already owned that popped up on Plus and have gotten about $30 total (I waited for Gamestop to drop a trade-in promo. So my last year has essentially cost $20 and i have gotten tons of free games including some I never would have purchased otherwise but ended up liking after playing them.

well i spent about $17 last night on journey and walking dead. may pick up retrograde as well. i have about 4 weeks of updates for good things i want to go on sale to get the money back.

If you check Playstation message boards a rep of Sony is stating that PS plus qualifies for the $10 promotion. Makes sense since 1 cent is literally irrelevant.

Personally I purchased a $50 online code instead of buying PS plus online code. So basically $39.99 for 15 months of PS plus!

It works for ANYTHING you buy in the psn store. Games/music/movies/ dlc/minis/ps1-2/avatars/themes.....

I'm pretty sure you'll have to do this purchase through your PS3, vita (and/or maybe psp?). You'll add money to your wallet, then purchase the membership. Via a PC it will link you to amazon, and I'm not sure, but I don't think that will work for this promotion since it will just give you a code to enter via your PS3, PS vita or PSP.

The $10 credit you received from Sony was probably from the loyalty program. Don't really know was justifies being loyal to Sony but I got the credit too. Spend $50 get $10 doesn't end until April 1st so codes will ship closer to that date.

yes per the T&C you have to spend $50 out of the wallet. Buy digital cards (funds card, not ps+ membership card) from amazon, add funds from cards to wallet, buy membership with a filler on PS3 using funds from wallet, and that should work.

I know some rep said $49.99 would "cut it", but that's not what the T&C says so i would add a filler just to be safe.

But that doesn't mean the PS3 will have support after the PS4 launches. PS3 PSN will be on borrowed time.

Not only that you can refill your wallet for $50 or increments of 5...so I would hope refilling your wallet would count towards spending $....if not just fill in with a little thing but PSN very very rarely and maybe they dont do it anymore would let me buy something outright w/o filling my wallet at an increment of 5, so even if I wanted to buy something at $47 I usually have to give it $50 and would have $3 for credit.

I just bought the Black Ops 2 DLC Season Pass on the 24th. That really sucks that it was just 2 days before this went active. It bugged me enough to call and see if they would honor it because it was so close to the start date, but no go. I was informed that I can spend another $50 right now and I would get the $10 credit. lol. A lot of good that will do me now.

The promo is for every $50 spent. If you're just adding funds to your wallet then you haven't actually bought anything.

If you bought a game on PSN and sony makes that game available for streaming on PS4 then hopefully gamers would not have to re-purchase the right to stream the game that they already bought on PSN previously, Hopefully the option to "download/stream" will be listed on the PSN store for these games. While downloading our old PS3games wouldnt work on PS4 the stream option would work (sometime in the future when/if sony ever actually gets streaming to work properly)

Actually renewed on the 25th, was still the 26th when I posted (or very shortly into the 27th). I called Sony and they said no can do, before the promotion is before the promotion.

The money must be spent out of the Wallet so I think it's ok to buy a PSN network card, add value to wallet, and then use it to buy whatever you want.

I'm on the fence on this. I've had PS+ for four months (1 free trial month + 3 month renewal) and it just expired. I really didn't get all that much use out of it, since my hard drive is pretty much full from previous game purchases and installs which I have yet to beat so I can't delete and clear it out.

If you're someone like me with a HUGE backlog of accumulated games already and don't have all that much time to play due to real life responsibilities, PS+ may not be worth it for you. Then again, I do have a couple of Best Buy gift certificates from their Facebook polls so I am tempted to use them to purchase PSN cards and redeem them for this promotion + the 3 bonus months....HMMM choices choices.

if you don't use it, and cannot flip it, it is worth nothing for you.

I'd use the rewards certificates to get disc games from BB. I bought used ps3 games from bb a couple of times before, and disc quality is usually very good.

You don't have to spend money from your wallet to get the extra months. All you have to do is redeem one code for a year of plus and it automatically ads the months. You can even buy a code from amazon and it will add three months
